Mathias Bowers & Catherine Hauck
Hi, Dian, I am a descendant of Mathias & Catherine (John Henry Bowers Sr, John Henry Bowers Jr, Emerson Dean Bowers and Kenneth Bowers who was my dad). I think I read in a message that you are a descendant of Rachel (unless I have you confused with another relative's message). I have very little info for Rachel other than what is at her and husband's Find A Grave memorials. Do you have info on their children?

RE: Charles Thomas Longshore
Note that his name is in gray, he is listed with all his siblings (parents children), all memorials with parent links are listed like this.

RE: Muhs Family
I connected Harold to the Mother and Father, but the others are not mine to edit. You should use the edit feature on the memorials and you can add the parent relationships directly, and the manager of the memorial will get to approve it eventually.
I will transfer Harold to you. The others can only be transferred by their managers.

Wiggins Triplets
Hello Diane:

Are you related to Doris, Delores, or Dorothy Wiggins, who were born triplets?

I am a niece to Eileen Wiggins Robinson.

Can you get back to me?

They are also in my family tree.
If you will send me any links I would be glad to add them.
You may add any obit as a picture also. Or if you type it up I would be glad to paste it in the bio section.

Thank you. Have you heard of Billion I will be working with an Eagle scout who will be taking pictures of headstones and now entering them on Billion graves. He will be using his phone and it has GPS ability so when you look up your loved one it will give you the coordinates of where exactly they are in that cemetery. New to me and we will be tackling this in the spring.Might want to check into it. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

I keep adding to the Spring Lake Cemetery a little at a time. The cemetery is just a couple miles from my house so I go spend part of a day taking pictures in the summer and down load them all winter. Make for a good hobby. Thank you for asking to have your relatives transferred to you.

I have transferred Mark to you. I did not create Sue's memorial. You will have to request from Al HOLTER.

RE: Lay family
We must continue this conversation. I am friends with the family of Paul Frame who would be a brother of Dora. They may have some pictures of your ancestors. Paul is still living in his home.

The gentleman listed as Mrs Lay's spouse is actually her son. He husband was Perry Oscar Lay who passed away in 1982. I haven't been able to find a memorial site for Perry Oscar Lay but I knew the family and her obituary also mentions Mr Lay's name and date of death. Thanks so much for removing Franklin as her spouse and I'll get back to you when I find Perry Oscar.

Charles "Carl" Bicker
Diann: I was just now ready to send you an edit with his death date, but my source tells MORE than that - so I'm copying it here. I was concerned about the burial place being named "Nauvoo #1" because I do not know the cemeteries in Nauvoo. But it also has his occupation, burial date, etc. -Source, Ill. RE: Bowers/Houck
I descend from their daughter Charlotte, wife of Samuel Bogan. It's been only a few years ago that I finally learned that Charlotte's parents were Matthias Bowers and wife Catherine. I ran across this biography (copied below), which gives a record of the family:

"The maternal grandfather of Mrs. Anglin was Mathias Bowers who was born in MD Dec 13, 1774, and on the 25th of Dec. 1795 was united in marriage to Catherine Hauck. This union was blessed with the following children: Jacob, born Nov 1, 1796 married Sarah Talmer; Elizabeth, born June 26, 1798, became the wife of Adam Kimmel; Sarah, born Aug 16, 1800 was the wife of Jacob Koontz; Susan, born July 12, 1802, was the wife of David Shrivers; Magaline, born Nov 26, 1804, was united in marriage with Mr. Traster; John, born July 6, 1807, married a Miss Grogg; Rachael, who was born Sep 14, 1809 and became the wife of Christian Zentz, was the mother of Mrs. Anglin; William born Oct 25, 1811, married Sallie Grogg; David, born April 18, 1814, married [sic]; Ann, born Nov 9, 1815, was the wife of Abraham Grogg; CHARLOTTE, born May 16, 1821, was the wife of SAMUEL BOGAN." pp507-08" From "Progressive men and women of Kosciusko County, Indiana: to which is appended ..." First, please determine that there are no other living descendants other than my family. Second, please consider guidelines:

First, Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested IF you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many OVERLAPPING family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.

Second, Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within FOUR generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

RE: Zentz family - fairview allen co ks
easily confirmed, but not much info.

library of congress is digitizing all newspapers thru 1911. lucky you, Iola is mostly completed.

I asked for only 1897, Iola Register, Zentz but received all years. there are several for 1897, most will be land/deed/tax/court transactions.

there was no obit, but a story The Iola register., April 09, 1897, Page 2, Image 2 details what little was reported.

It is a story under the town of Diamond - not sure where that was. and mentions his brother Perry but not Otis' name, just 'younger brother'.

and I have to retake that photo - sorry about Cooper - guess I didn't look well, or had none to select from.

I saved as jpg file and will email to you.

Please also note that I am not aware of a FOREST HILL in Joplin, MO. Thats why using SAC method is so important. It will automatically bring up correct numbers and cemeteries. Thanks a bunch.

RE: Louie Smith Lackey
Thank you for replying! My interest is actually in Emily's father: what became of him, who were his parents, etc.. He was the reason I started genealogy over 30 yrs ago & I still can't answer those questions. I do know quite a bit about his life & about his children, if anyone is interested. If you have the Lackeys pretty far back I probably don't have anything new to offer but am certainly happy to share anything I have. Insofar as Lackey is concerned, that would be limited to census from 1880 on, and a little article from a Jasper County history.

Hello Diann,
Matthias and Catherine are my ancestors. It is very nice to meet you. How are you tied into the tree? Feel free to email me rather than chatting back and forth on here. (

Looking forward to hearing from you!
