If you get a chance, can you take a photo of my Uncle Larry's headstone at Rule? Find A Grave Memorial# 137545616

We received word from the stone company that it had been placed, but we have not seen it yet. We all live far away and may be awhile before I can get back that way.

RE: Teletha Welch Eslinger
Telitha Welch was my 3G Aunt. My decendency is from her brother James to Lorenzo T. to William H. to Wilbur Willis -my father- to me, Kenneth Richard "Rich" Welch.

I'm curious if Telitha's DNA shows her mother Martha's DNA has any Native American markers. Just curious... I have heard rumors and looking for answers.

Hi, even though I've been a member for several years, I haven't done a whole lot on here. I'm trying to get back into the family history stuff, and decided a good place to start was to sponsor my mom and dad's memorial on here

Sorry about the dupe and thanks for letting me know. I added my picture of the headstone and sent you a couple of edits. Find A Grave is only as good as WE can make it.

RE: duplication
You were correct, these memorials: #57958589 and #42778152 are for the same person. I deleted the 42778152 as it was incomplete. Thank you for your heads up to me. God Bless

Sterrett, Acquilla and Hildebrandt, Priscilla
Hi! I see you have entered data for my dear friends, Acquilla Sterrett and her twin sister, Priscilla Hildebrandt. Could you please remove the note that says Acquilla's maiden name may be her sister's married name, Hildebrandt? The twins' maiden name is Wyatt (hence, the W. middle initial for them both).

This is on the page for Price Place Cemetery in Arkansas.

Thank you!
D. Scott

RE: Wiggins
Would your Henry Wiggins be John Henry Wiggins, b. 27 Feb 1831 TN who married Cyntha Hyder and is buried in Bruner Cemetery in Christian Co., MO?

I came across a gravestone picture you added to a Swearengin memorial and noticed your name was Wiggins. I was just curious as to whether or not you were descended from James and Elizabeth (Swearengin) Wiggins who lived in what is now Christian Co., MO in the mid 1800's. I am descended from Hugh Swearengin (1776-186?) of Jackson Co., TN and who was a close neighbor of James Wiggins in the 1840 census of Jackson County and of whom two of his sons, Eli and James, moved to the same neck of the woods as the Wiggins about two years after they did, settling on what is the modern day Douglas/Christian County border. Hugh is believed to be Elizabeth's older brother and Eli and James her nephews. If this is your line I would like to compare notes as I have a pretty good knowledge as to how this family all fits together, actual documentation is at a real premium because of the lack of records in the counties the Swearengins lived in.

Thanks, Steve Bench

Mr. Jones
Charley Lewis Hampton Death Certificate
Hello, it's me again! Sorry for the length of this message but I'm in need of a little help. I found some information on Charley Lewis Hampton (Find A Grave Memorial# 7375016). When my Grandpa Kendall Jones heard I was in a genealogy class, he told me that he had an uncle or great uncle who was shot and killed in an ambush. He didn't quite remember his name but thought it might be "Jack" or something, and after digging around and a few more questions I found that it was not a man named "Jack", but a man named Charley Lewis Hampton, who was married to Patience Rachel Jones (Find A Grave Memorial# 7375029), sister of Charles Egbert Jones (Find A Grave Memorial# 7375414), daughter of Benjamine Brown Jones (Find A Grave Memorial# 70792542), and my great-great-great aunt. What I found was two newspapers, one from "The weekly tribune and the Cape County herald" in September 14, 1917, and the other from "Ripley County democrat" in Doniphan, Mo, of the same date. They both have an article that talks about how a man named Joe W. Long had ambushed Charley, wounding him the first time, and then killing him on the second. The problem is that when I was searching for the death certificate in Missouri, there was nothing to be had on him. The only clue as to why is a small paragraph in the Cape County herald article that says the following:
"Ozarks officials say the shooting was on the Arkansas side of the line. The Marion County authorities declare the crime was committed in Missouri. It may require the work of a surveyor to locate the boundary line and decide in which State the killing took place."
I do not know if this was ever settled, but could it be possible that his death certificate may be in Arkansas records? Also, there was another article in the Cape County herald fifteen days later about Joe Long being accepted into the Army and it mentions the killing of Charley Hampton. The question is: What happened to Joe Long after that day? Was he KIA in World War II? Was he buried? And if so, where at? But, I'm getting ahead of myself. For now, if you could help me locate Charley Lewis Hampton's death certificate, I would really appreciate it, as I would like to show this to Grandpa Kendall.
Your friend,

For memorial # 158448746, you can now change the cemetery to Roselawn, Calico Rock, Izard County, Arkansas. I have added a photo of the gravestone. The photo was furnished me by Larry Havner.

The reason I sent the edit for Chester Thomas Scher's nickname is because he was called CT by many people. He is my great-grandfather and my dad told me this. His nickname was CT and Tom. My dad and his brothers and sisters called him grandpa CT. He was called that by friends as well.

The name Lela is what I have come across, also. How many times did Charles Davis get married? On Ancestry, some trees are saying he married Lela, Cordella Hash, and some other people, too.

RE: charles davis
The Charles Davis I am looking for was listed as the deceased spouse of Cordela "Deal" (Hash) Davis. Cordela was the daughter of Jack and Susan Hash and the sibling of Sarah E Hash. Sarah married Jacob Buhler; and they were parents of my Grandmother, Kate Hicks.

I am working on a Charles Davis (who married a Cordella "Deal" Hash). If you see a duplicate memorial, it is there only for research purposes. I thought the wife "lela" listed on missouri death certificate referred to Cordella Hash; but I think I may be wrong. If I find anything pertaining to your page, I'll let you know (but I am starting to think I need a different charles davis).
