I have contacted the other contributors to this cemetery as it is a duplicate of Sacred Heart Cemetery. Sorry for any confusion.
Thank you.

Hi Reita,

It appears you have added a duplicate Sacred Heart Cemetery. If you could please merge yours with the other Sacred Heart or delete it and we can resubmit the graves that are in yours, since there is only 4.

Thank you,
Amy

RE: William Lonberger
You are very welcome! I really enjoy doing this for others. It can be a kind of treasure hunt. I will be going back to the West Point/Kiser Cemeteries sometime this summer, and I'll look again for Henry Lonberger. I may not be able to find the stone, though. I met the man who mows the cemetery (he used to be the gravedigger there in the 1960s-80s!), and he said when he started working there he found hidden away in a valley a huge pile of gravestones. It seems that the previous caretaker would just pile them up whenever they fell over or leaned because she didn't want to mow or trim around them properly. So unfortunately, there are many unmarked graves in the Kiser cemetery.

No, I didn't see any others. The large stone at the front of the photo was too warn to read. But, that's all I saw there. Sorry.

RE: Randolph Longberger
I took a quick look, didn't find him or a candidate, but some information that may of use in the future.

John W Little, Co D 4th Iowa
BURIED AT: SECTION L SITE 9732, Chattanooga National Cemetery. -VA gravesite locator... Co D 4th Iowa Infantry. Died Jan 22, 1864, Woodville, Ala. -Roster and Record of Iowa Soldier...

Notes from one who removed the bodies to the National Cemetery: This grave (J W Little) was in the woods one mile southwesterly from Woodville Station & on the land of Widow Hodges. Chattanooga National Cemetery grave originally number L-756.

The above may have been the site of their camp while at Woodville. I did not find another soldier buried at Widow Hodges. And looking at the Roster and Record of Iowa Soldiers, I only found Little and Longberger dying at Woodville.

Here is from the Roster and Record of Iowa Soldiers... On the 3d day of December, 1863, it went into camp at Bridgeport, Ala., and later moved from there to Woodville, where it remained in camp until the 26th of February, 1864, when it was ordered to proceed to Des Moines, Iowa,... At the expiration of its furlough, the regiment returned to the field, and rejoined its brigade and division at Nashville, Tenn.

From the above, it appears that Randolph may have been left behind at Woodville when the regt went on furlough. And the regt did not return to Woodville after furlough.

Hi, I took a photo of someone in your family a while back and posted it here on your site. I found them at Shady Grove Methodist Cemetery. I see that you have them listed at Shady Grove Cemetery instead.I thought you might want to edit the cemetery and list them where they are buried. It is on River rd in Ford City. Thanks.

I'm not related but my husband is through the Best's (isn't everybody through the Bests? LOL!) The Bests must have been here with Adam & Eve it seems! I'll send you what I have off this message board. I'd love to know what you have, too.

Hi again...

Do you remember who sent you the cemetery photo that you posted? I'm trying to find someone that's been there so I can get a map.

Thanks again :)

Greetings Rita...

Do you know where this cemetery is located?

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&CRid=2171152&CScnty=2076&CSsr=121&

There is no map on the cemetery page and I'm trying to get one there. If you can give me directions, or GPS locations (if you know them), I'd be happy to ask for the map to be added.

Thank you and have a great weekend :)
