DJ: You are SO right. There is beauty in simplicity, orchestral concerts in silence and a host of loved ones in solitude. Why must we be old to grasp that? Thank you tons for your contribution and philosophy that resonates with these old bones. A friend indeed -- Bill

I was at the Big Sandy Mush Methodist Cemetery in Sandy Mush (Buncombe County) today, I made a list of
graves to locate 2 weeks ago and had not looked again before leaving today. I will go back when the weather is cooler and see if I can locate and photograph.

RE: Annie Cleo Cooley
I have a problem in my family tree concerning the Jarrards that you can probably answer. Is Anselm R. Jarrard b. 1805, d. 1852 the brother or father of Josiah D. Jarrard b. 1830, d. 1901? Also who are the parents of Ans. M. Jarraed b.1858, d. 1885? I believe we are related through Andrew J. Dorsey b. 1790, d.1864.

Virginia Britt
A Matthew and Madge Britt lived in Michigan in January of 1920 and I can't find anything else about such a couple. Matthew was from Tennesee and Madge from Georgia so it doesn't seem unlikely that they moved away from Lithonia.

Annie Cleo Cooley
I am Bill Wade and a new member and thanks for the work you are doing. I want to correct information that you have on Annie Cleo Cooley and Edward M. Cooley buried at Mossy Creek Methodist Cemetery. I am their maternal 1st cousin. Annie & Edward are sister and brother. They were assumed married since they are buried together in a double plot. The premature death of Annie forced the parents to use their own burial plot. It was next used for their son after his premature death. Both parents are buried elsewhere. Annie's death certificate shows that she was single when she died. I can send you the death certificate.

RE: mallin
Actually, that's not totally true. Did he have any relatives in Illinois?

Hey DJ, I'm afraid the only Mallin's I know out here are my immediate family members.

Hi D.J.
My name is Jamie and as a volunteer at Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta I am frequent user of Find A Grave. So imagine my surprise when I was doing a cursory search of my grandmother to find out a bit about my history I came across her entry on this website. I was just wondering if you new my grandmother, and, if not, what made you decide to photograph the marker for her and her husband's graves? I am not upset that they are on here. In fact, I think it is pretty neat, since, like I mentioned, I have used this site many times for Oakland visitors. I just wasn't expecting it is all. Thanks in advanced for any information you might have.

Thank you for checking! Don't delete anything until you've talked to the office. I appreciate you're checking with them.

RE: Shady Grove
All photos posted. Some of my photos didn't come out...... shadows and wrong setting on camera but since I had the info I went ahead and created the memorials. FYI - I learned (if possible) to back into the cemetery. It makes it easier to leave. Have fun :-)
