David Levy
I found a marker for a David Levy at Temple Cemetery in Nashville. He is in a family plot with Erinna N. Levy, Zodie A. Levy (1889-1906), Jacob Z. Levy, and Max Levy, so he sounds like the one you are looking for. However, this marker says that he lived from 1860-1902. Are you sure about the 1924 death date for your David Levy? If yes, then I will create a memorial page for this other David Levy.

Moise Bonnem & Matilda Rosenfield
Hi! In regards to your photo request, can you please call the cemetery or submit a grave location request online and obtain the grave location (Gate, Section & Lot Numbers) and ask them whether or not there is a grave marker? Please post this information to the Find A Grave memorial.

Waldheim Cemetery: (708) 366-4541
Online submission:

Waldheim Jewish Cemetery is a huge consolidated group of cemeteries with over 150,000 burials, and the information is needed in order to find a grave and take a photograph.

Thank you, Ace

Photo request in Zion Gardens
Hi, I noticed that you have a photo request for Zion Gardens Cemetery. The cemetery is under new management, and if you contact them, they can provide you with a plot number and I can easily find the headstone. Thanks!

Claiborne, AL
I would love to know approximate directions for the Jewish Cem. in old Claiborne, Monroe Co, AL that you added a photo for. I am hoping I can stir up some interest for help in cleaning up the "main" cemetery at Claiborne & will check this Jewish cem for needs, if someone can help me get a general idea of where it is.

The Temple Cemetery in Louisville
Go to their website and you will find they are taking pictures of all the stones there. According to their sire they are 3/4 complete.

Hi, no record of Nathan Stoddard being buried in Orleans County and no Stoddards buried at Mt. Albion. Here is the link to the Stoddard cross references Cemetery records in Orleans County:

Hello. The only person buried with Lillie Shipper is her husband Charles. I have also created a memorial for him. Take care, Julie.

RE: Fannie Chambers Roescher
Alex....I hate to tell you this, but I believe I've made a mistake. I was going to tell you that I got it from her Death Certificate. However, I just double checked and I looked at the wrong Fannie Roescher....her Mother-In-Law! Even though Forest Hill says they have no record of her burial, the Death Certificate for her clearly says Forest Hill. I'm not sure what to tell you about where she is. Seems like Temple Israel would be the likely place since that is where her husband is, but that might be erroneous. I'd see if they have any record there, and if not move her back to F. Hill. Sometimes if you have the Forest Hill folks recheck the records there they find them. Their massive records are still on cards! I apologize for any inconvenience.

STODDARDs in Elmwood Cem, Detroit
Hi Alex. I went to Elmwood, looking for your STODDARDs in sec. H. I photographed all readable markers in that section of the cemetery. I did not find any markers with a surname of Stoddard. I did find a marker with the name James Stoddard Conkling in the Conkling family plot. I did not claim your photo request so that if someone else can locate the STODDARDS, the request is still there. Regards.

Hi Alex,

I attempted to fulfill your photo request for this grave today. It's a very small cemetery with many unmarked graves. This could be one of them. Just thought you'd like to know.

JACOBS, MOSES,%20Moses.jpg

The Temple Cemetery is currently trying to put all headstone photos online.

Is this what you were looking for?

I'll be happy to go on Sunday & confirm this for you!

Re: Aimee & Harold Schlesinger
Hi Alex:

Both of them are in the Goldsmith mausoleum. I was able to transcribe who is inside. Also there are Abraham Goldsmith & Theresa Straus Goldsmith.

I had no idea they were on your photo request list--I was just snapping away yesterday, taking advantage of the good weather.

Understand about spring chores. I'll keep plugging away on the photos as I have time, and whenever you get around to it, let me know if anything has to be fixed, transferred, etc.

Happy Spring!

Re: Oscar Rosenberger & others
Hi Alex:

Did some photography in Beth El at Woodmere, and Oscar Rosenberger's mausoleum has also, like many others, been vandalized (half of the door is off, and the stained glass window broken). I was able to see who is inside. I took a photo of Oscar's inscription and posted it:

And also found that there is a man named Jacob F. Teichner interred there as well. They are the only two that are inscribed. I made a page for him:

Let me know if he's related, and I will transfer.

Now, the Gilbert mausoleum is interesting--not a person named Gilbert in it (but two spaces are open, and it's hard to tell if anyone was there; another case of vandalism where the door is completely off). Here's who is in it:

David W. Davis:

Genevieve Davis Finney:

Hannah Goldberg:

Rachel Goldberg Newman:

Robert J. Newman:

Also did some other graves in Beth El:

Roseroot/Van Vliet
Mayer (Belle & Morris)

And have more left to go. My fingers are growing tired, so the best way to see who I've entered lately is to go to my profile page, and click on the memorials added, and sort by 7 days (you may have to go back to 30--I'm not certain--but try 7 first). Let me know if any of them are related.

Take care!

RE: Victor Rosenfield
Transferred him over to you.

And, you're welcome! This warm spell has allowed me to get some graving done, and also find more family. Most of my family are on Indian Hill, and I found quite a few of their gravesites last week. I hope to get back to NF soon. I do have more photos to post from there.

By the way, did you know that Temple Beth El owns the sections NF & Beth El? That's what their web site says:

There's also a list of who is buried at Beth El Memorial Park, if that would be of any help to you, right at the top of the page. The Birmingham-Bloomfield Symphony Orchestra holds concerts at the Temple, and it's a beautiful place. I've been there several times.

Take care, and glad to help!

RE: Frank Shoenfield
No, it's spelled just as above, but Woodmere has him listed as Schoenfield. I did find him on Find A Grave, so I added the photo to his page. He's in NF, lot 147 (don't know how I missed him on Find A Grave, because it's spelled the same as the stone). Here's the link:

The stone looks of the same design as Jacob S. Katzenberg, and they are in the same plot. Wonder whose "Beloved Brother" he is?

Re: Helen M. Neugarten
She's buried in the Langer plot, and I added a memorial for her:

Let me know if you want a transfer.

I have two footstones that I can't identify--will have to go back and see if I can get a better look at them. One just says LANGER--it may be one of the two Baby Langer footstones--and I can't read the name or dates on the other one. Wish me luck!
