Glad to help! I'm attempting to photograph all of Blair Cemetery, since there are many memorials with no pictures, but the weather isn't cooperating. :-)

George Lee Mosley
I was at the Ray cemetery on Friday and took a picture of George Mosley's tombstone, but it was the wrong George Mosley. I didn't realize until I had it uploaded so I deleted it. I have taken pictures of all the rocks in the cemetery and did not see another one with the name George Mosley. At one time the cemetery was in bad shape but now it is well maintained.

Brown Cemeteries
According to the Clay County Tombstone Inscriptions Book compiled during 1966-1975 there are 5 Brown Cemeteries in Clay County.

Brown Family Cemetery - On crest of hill above the west bank of the east fork of Brimstone Creek. 25 graves (correct name for cemetery not know)

James P. Brown Cemetery - Turn west from Moss-Brimstone Road at Turkey Creek road at Charley Rhotons, go about 100 yards and then south on old farm road and go out ridge about 3/4 mile.

J.J. (Jesse) Brown Farm Cemetery - In an open field about 100 feet east of house of Jesse Brown. Near Dentons Crossroads junction.

Lester Brown Family Cemetery - On north side of road in front of Browns house. Arcot, TN

Pleas Brown Cemetery - On east side of the lower end of Brimstone Creek about 100 yards northeast of the old brown house. Brimstone Creek, TN

My directions for finding the Pleas Brown Cemetery. If you are coming from Jackson County through Big Bottom you will cross the new Brimstone Creek bridge you will travel about two miles. You will look for a 4-wheeler trail going up the side of the hill. Follow the trail up the hill and the cemetery is on the right. If you get to the old Earl Crowder place {it is burn now but still has a standing light pole} you have gone to far by about 100 yards. This cemetery is not easy to find, no signage on the road.

John Steedman
I may have found your John Steedman in Lexington County, SC. I checked some books that I had access to and found there is no "Old Steedman Cemetery in Lexington, SC, however I did find John Steedman and others in Batesburg, SC in the Batesburg Cemetery with a death date of 1795. I looked on Find a Grave and the one I found is memorial # 24345057. Check it out and see if this is yours. Good luck, Susan Renfroe

RE: Thank you!
You are more than welcome. The cemetery needs mowing but I don't think the cemetery is being neglected. The grass was all uniform in height so it had been taken care of probably a couple of weeks ago. I imagine they will spruce it up for the July 4th holiday this coming week and I just caught it at a bad time. I had five other pictures to take at the same cemetery and this was my first time taking pictures since I joined this web site. It was a nice day to get out and I enjoyed being a help to others.

RE: Lillie Jackson Brown
Do you know who is in charge of the cemetery and records of burials at Bay Village cemetery? I would like to contact them.

Joyce,
Why not call Kernodle funeral home in Wynne to see if they have this information. Phone # 870-238-2323
or Thompsonwilson funeral home in Wynne. Either of them should be able to help you.

Cordelia Coleman
Hello Joyce,

Cordelia Coleman (Find-a-Grave Memorial #28981670) was my great grandmother. I searched diligently for her grave while visiting Oak Forest Cemetery in August 2012 but could not find her.

The contributor who listed Cordelia as being buried there is no longer an active member of Find-a-Grave, so I cannot ask him where he got his information that Oak Forest is where she was laid to rest. Was wondering if you have any info supporting this?

And how are you related to her, btw?

Cheers,
Michael Ray

Hi, Joyce. I cannot link this Brown family to mine, unfortunately. I know Lester Brown from Imboden, Arkansas. Lillie was his mother. Yes, I am talking about Charlotte, Arkansas. Sorry to be vage. I forget that not everyone is from Arkansas! Love to hear from you. Email me.

James Hardy Brown
Joyce, I am related to Atta Turner Brown who was married to Eulys Brown. The father of Eulys was James Hardy Brown who was buried in Opposition Cemetery, Ravenden, Lawrence Co, AR. I found him in findagrave.com with your name as contributor. He is buried with a spouse but I can't read her name or birth/death dates. Do you have this information in your notes?

Respectfully,
Karen Kelton
