RE: I have a question for you about Mt Zion Cemetery
I feel certain that you are correct about Mt Zion in Swan township. Since I messaged you i sent an edit and got the location of Hamden removed. I also added a new cemetery of Mount Zion Church Cemetery in Richland township with pictures and GPS cords.

I have a question for you about Mt Zion Cemetery
The photos you posted in 2013 on Mt Zion Cemetery refer to a Mt Zion Cemetery on Dunkle road near Creola in Vinton County.

The address for this one is listed as Hamden. There is a Mt Zion Church Cemetery about 9 miles from Hamden in Richland township on Mt. Zion road (County road 37).

There is also a Zion Cemetery in Clinton Township which I believe is the one you were referring to.

It looks like there are three Zions in Vinton County. I was wondering if two of them may have got mixed up?

I was in the Mt Zion Church near Hamden today and it is not the cemetery you have pictures shown of.

I believe That Mt Zion and Mt Zion Church Cemetery have been mixed up or combined into one.

Any Insights?

RE: Elizabeth Holl
Hi, I know you wrote this 2 years ago, but I don't work on this family a lot. Which Elizabeth Holl are you referring to? This is my husband's family. How are you related to Elizabeth?

RE: Michael Swaim - 21655131
I descend from Lydia (Darby) Swaim Fox, the widow of Moses, Michael's son. Lydia and John Fox are my 3x grandparents. I then descend from their daughter, Love Samantha (Fox) Hersh.

Elizabeth's maiden name (Memorial# 17867260)
Dear Rachel,

I found my citation/research:
Blackburn, E. Howard. "The History of Bedford and Somerset Counties." NY & Chicago, IL: Lewis Publishing Co, 1906.
Vol.2, p44 - The Jersey Settlement. "It is said William Rush and his wife Elizabeth Ream immigrated to western PA in the spring of 1770 from New Jersey."

I cringe every time I hear the phrase, "It is said" as a source and is one of the primary reasons I do not accept this reference as evidence or proof her maiden name was Ream. This is the one and only record I've seen for the proposed maiden name. It's not one I'll accept. These mugbooks often send me on wild goose chases (and I've been chasing this goose for awhile), but you can see why this name has been floating around for some time - no one ever followed up for evidence or proof of this claim. I think even a bible record might be reasonable evidence at this point.

Elizabeth's maiden name (Memorial# 17867260)
Dear Rachel,

The Rush line really is a mess and I've been trying to untangle it for a couple decades. I can't disprove Elizabeth's (Memorial# 17867260) maiden name, until I can prove it. I believe I found it mentioned in one mugbook, but I have never found anything to confirm the maiden name, more importantly who her parents were.

There were probably two or three separate Rush lines in this area and I have never been able to fully separate them, most people just combine them all into one. So, rather than enter something I can't prove, I left it as unproven (i.e. blank). I believe her husband William died intestate and I've not found any probate as it appears he had distributed all his land prior to death.

I and another person have been working on the Gills in Greenwood cemetery. We believe that his parents stones are buried because at one point someone read them but now they are gone. The only stone I could find was Levis but its just the bottom of the stone.
I thank you for the obit but Find A Grave doesnt like them in the picture section.
could you remove and type it out ? If you dont want to take the time to type out I will be glad to do so if
you will then remove the one in the picture section.
Just let me know what you would like to do

Cora and Hiram Dunkle
Hi Rachel,

I'm releasing the Dunkles, since I won't be returning to Inglewood before my claim expires. Went today and the area of the Mausoleum of the Golden West, where they are interred (Sanctuary of Hope, S-79, niche K), is currently having it's floor refinished. Was able to located and photograph Gladys. I'm sure another volunteer will claim Cora and Hiram.

Abraham Cryder
Thank you for adding his memorial and adding note, parents are unknown at this time. He never lived in Brooke Co. Virginia. 1820 Census, I find Abraham Crider in Brooke Co. Virginia also in 1820 I find Abraham Crider (my ancestor) in Pickaway Co. Ohio. I would very much like to find my Abraham's ancestors. They are not Martin Crider and Anna Catherine Schmutz.

Abraham is also my 5th great Grandfather.

Catherine Holler
Great work on the Goodman Holler families. You have Catherine Small-Holler (Wife of Daniel Holler) 106124657 listed as 7 years old. Checking if typo or possible daughter of Daniel

Also, have you ever found out who the parents of Peter Goodman (Husband of Elizabeth Nagle) were? He is also in the Adelphi Cemetery.

Finally, I'm looking for a husband wife buriel site circa 1858 (Influenza) possible in Adelphi. The wife's Maiden name would have been Holler. First name possibly Eliza. She would have been the daughter of Daniel Holler and Elizabeth Small. She may have married a McClure. Her son William T. was adopted by his aunt Mary Holler and Henry Goodman.

Again, Great Work! Perry G.
