|Annie Mae||Akers connection|
Henry Jackson Akers (who married Emmer Mae Ward) was my grandmother's half brother. Henry's mother was Tennessee Roberts (Choctaw Indian woman). She left them and went back to the reservation.
I was told by grandmother and her sisters (sitting on the porch gossiping in Poteet) that Tennessee (called Teeny) had married 4 men: Henry Jackson, Isaac Wingate, Sam Billingsly and Henderson Wok.
Then Henry spoke up and told a story about cattle rustling and the Texas Rangers but sat down and closed his mouth before he finished. His mind had been "goin'" a while according to the "gals".

|jj||RE: Mourton Memorial Links|
I am happy to approve any accurate parent child link. Unfortunately, I am confused by the public message you left regarding links. Iva Lee Memorial #127388657 is already linked to parents.
The other memorial you mentioned was Clevland Mourton but the Memorial # you left 12957838 was for someone else (Sarah Baker Collins).
Please use the edit tabs at the top left of the memorials you want linked to parents and select "relationship (parent and spouse links)"
then fill in the proper memorial #'s to link child to parent. This way, there will be no doubt about the request.

|Alice Morton||Hello Christina|
My Morton family were in Virginia in the 1700's then moved on to Kentucky where many descendents live today. My branch moved on to Missouri and after the Civil War moved to Idaho. If any of your Morton folks were in Virginia and Kentucky in the 1700 and 1800's let me know their names and I will see if I have them in my database..

Thank you so much for removing the duplicate memorial for Nancy Kesterson. You have duplicated 4 other memorials for our family, but I will request that you remove each individually because I think that will be easier for you.

Hi Christina - You have created a duplicate memorial for Nancy Kesterson. The memorial you created was Find A Grave Memorial# 65736031 which you created on Feb. 16, 2011. The original memorial was created 5 years earlier on Sept. 30, 2006 by D Ann (#46842261). You also used D Ann's photo. Please remove your duplicate to avoid any confusion for our family. Thanks for your prompt attention to this request.

|Flairdl||RE: Memorial #120815998|
Hello, Christina. It is my policy to not copy obituaries (or other published material) into findagrave memorials unless their copyright has expired. I am aware that many contributors do so, but I am following the findagrave guidelines listed on their FAQ page.
That is the bad news. The good news is that I could easily transfer the memorial to you and you could do as you like with it.
Please let me know if you would like me to do that.

|AnnieMae||RE: Akers Family|
Henry Jackson Akers was my grandmother's half brother. Her mother was Amanda Taylor.....his mother was Tennessee Roberts. In Henry's later years he lived with his sisters in Poteet or Jourdanton...don't recall which. Both "sets" of kids were very close to each other.
Added by AnnieMae on Apr 13, 2014 4:29 PM
Mandy Akers had 2 children with Laiford Claibourne She lived with her daughter before she died. Her son married, no children.
She also had several step-children whose mother was Tennessee Teny Roberts...Laiford's first wife.
Somehow you and I are connected....maybe through one of Teny's children ???
