RE: McCay
Hi Gwen,

Beverly here… just wondering if you have found any more information on Daniel S. McCay or made it to any more of the cemeteries? We are doing well enough here. Ron and I are taking care of my parents again after a 2 month break. We had them for 9 months before.

Our lives are routine and rather confined with care taking but it is what we are suppose to do for now.

Any fun stories or information would be welcomed to help keep me entertained.

Where do most of the McCay family move off to. Our Cochrans are still very busy and active in the area of Blue Ridge.

We just found my great great grandfather in Illinois and he was from Texas in the Civil War. It was so strange since we had looked around the southern states. Then there he was in Illinois? We think he was taken prisoneer and taken there. He was buried in at veterans cemetery with the big C.S.A and from Texas Calvery right there on the headstone. The didn't register it till 2011 and he had died back in 1863.

Good to hear from you. Do you know any of the stories from the McCay line. We have a number of stories about the Cochran side. Eager to hear of the McCays no. Ron and I had such a good trip over to Georgia from Arkansas. Hope to return again someday.

Hey, Did you ever make it to Mobile Baptist Cemetery? Eager to know if you found Margaret McCay Cochran grave? I guess he married again after she died. John Pinkney Cochran shows a being married to a Mary. Our Rev. Daniel Mack Cochran left the area with his wife's people, Brady, and moved on to North Arkansas and lived in Zinc along with preaching...

There is no need to request her deletion. Since you manage it (from previous transfer to you), you can delete it. There is a link under edit on her main page that says delete, click it and confirm. It will automatically delete.

Since you are closer related (I assume) and live in the area, do you want me to transfer her to you?

RE: McCay
Hi Gwen. We have not found his grave either but please keep us posted if you do. We would love to go back to the area some day. Their son Daniel (son of Margaret McCay) moved to Zinc Arkansas with his wife and family - the Brady family. Daniel was a preacher there in the small town. His son Robert Pinkney Cochran later moved on to San Juan Texas and that is where my husband's father was born.

McCay
I forgot to add that the McCay graves we found were up on a mountain on the Copperhill side of Tennessee across from McCaysville Ga.

RE: Margaret 'Peggy' McCay Cochran
Hello Gwen, Good to hear from you. My husband is a descendent of Margaret McCay Cochran. She was married to John Pinkny Cochran and the mother of our Daniel Cochran, which is my husband's great grandfather. My husband and I made the trip to Fannin County Georgia and Blue Ridge, Epworth, and McCaysville. We fond some of the graves at Epworth and McCaysville/Copperhille. But later we heard Mobile Baptist Church in that area is where Margaret McCay Cochran is buried. I am not sure about John... I think he married again but it didn't work out.

RE: Elizabeth Woody Buchanan
Hi Gwen,

You are related to my husband. His great grandparents are Crate(Thomas Crate) and Lizzie(Elizabeth Woody) Buchanan. Who are your parents? His mother is Charlotte Buchanan Reece.

Crate lived with them when my husband was younger. He lived with them off and on for about 12 years. He has some good memories of him.

Joann
