RE: Jacob & Annie Levin (e)
Vy, I'll check out some leads and newspapers when I'm go to Atlanta on December 7th. I am not related, I just do genealogy research, esp. on individual buried in Oakland Cemetery. Obituaries are often good leads for the other family members.
I believe Jacob, death in 1906 is buried at Oakland, will check out the tombstone, the paper record often have errors. Harry was possibly in Chicago, also. 2 of the children were born there before the family came to Atlanta. Hans

RE: Jacob Levine in Oakland Cem
The Jacob Levine who died in 1912 was married to an Esther, who died in 1937 and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Atlanta. There 3 children were: Rebecca, Abraham and Keroy (sp?). He had a sister Jennie.

Jacob Levine (Levin) who was married to Annie, I believe died in 1906. They had 5 children: Harry, Bertha, Rosa, Fred and Herman. I found Fred in records to 1940. He died in 1979 and is buried in Crestlawn Cemetery, Atlanta. Bertha married Edward Reiman and had 3 children. Bertha died in 1957 and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, one son Jack Reiman is also buried there.

The name is spelled Levine and Levin is different records. Fred is in a Hebrew Orphanage in 1910 but in WWI draft records, lists dependent mother.

Jacob married to Annie was born about Nov 1858 in Russia. Hans

RE: Jacob Levine in Oakland Cem
I don't find a listing for her in Oakland, at least with a last name of Levine. Most of the graves in Ahavah Achim are in date order and not in family groups. I find a Jacob Levin also in this section who died in 1906. Do you know the names of the children? Would Annie have married again?

RE: George Lott # 47331586
Hi there-
Hope your computer is all better now. I've gotten kind of dependent on mine especially since I started looking into my ancestors.
The George Lott I believe is my ancestor from the civil war (and I'm not sure how this works)was born in 1821 or 1823 in Baden Germany and was in the 144th Illinois Infantry from 1864-1865. He was admitted to the Quincy IL Soldiers and Sailors home in 1887 and died in 1890. He's buried in Sunset Cemetery in Quincy. I know he had a son Henry who is my grandfather's grandfather. But his admittance papers say he had two other sons Joseph and John that I cannot verify.
Anyway I live in San Diego CA and we have quite a few civil war veterans buried here but of course it's nothing like back East. But I'm doing research on them just because it's interesting.
Thanks for your reply and keep me posted if we're related.

George Lott
Hello-I'm pretty sure that the George Lott buried in Sunset Cemetery is my great great grandfather but I want to be sure. Is there any data at the cemetery of next of kin? That would verify I'm related to him and I know what you mean about needing to know what your roots are.

Hello, I checked my email, but I"m sorry to say I did not find an email from you with any suggestions for this memorial. As to your question-- My husband was related to this family via marriage. He was married to a Jodie nee Barns, whom is now deceased.

RE: Cumberland Cemetery, OH
Hello, Vy,

Sorry to be late in responding. Out of town for a few days. I have not been to Cumberland Cem. for several years. When I first went there many years ago, we just walked the cemetery until we found our family stones. I can only suggest that you contact the Guernsey Co. Gene. Soc. and see if they have any records, then find out who is the trustee for Spencer Twp. and then contact that person. I did that about 8 years for an obscure cemetery just over the county line into Muskingum Co. - in fact, had to go to Cumberland to get to it - and the trustee was very helpful. The Guernsey County Genealogical Society is at:

P.O. Box 661
125 N. 7th St.
Cambridge, Ohio 43725-0661

Phone: 740-432-9249

Hope this helps!

RE: Isaac Wimer in Cumberland, Cem
Yes their are several cemeteries around the Cumberland area. Some are well documented others not so much. I do not know when you are planning on coming but the main cemetery where the genealogical info is stored is being remodeled. You may want to make sure the data is available. Good luck in your search

RE: Isaac Wimer in Cumberland, Cem
I would contact the Guernsey County library. They have pretty good records. You can go to their website and send requests via email. If that doesn't work let me know and we can go to plan B

RE: Chandler Tuttle Journal
I got a copy of Chandler's journal from my cousin, Lorena Franco. I have been coping it. I love it. This is where I am on the family tree. My great grandfather was Benjamin Tuttle. He was the very much younger brother to Chandler. Banjamin's son, Henry Tuttle was my grandfather. His son was Henry Tuttle / Tuthill who was my father. My father preferred, what he thought was the original spelling of the name. I live in the north part of San Diego county and would love to get in touch with family members, matter how far removed. Please forward any info you may have. Also if you have any old family pictures, I would love copies. My email is Please keep in contact.

One last thing....this marker is directly across the road from the Boudinot farm. It helped me document where the farm is.

RE: Tuttle Fan in Boudinot Cemetery, OH
As for Deborah, I have not searched for her. I found an article from the zanesville newspaper written by one of Solomon's grandchildren. It told me where Solomon was buried and also where Sarah was. It did not mention Deborah since the writer was through Sarah's line. Boudinot cemetry is near Athens, OH. You can also drive by "Sunday Creek" which was named by Solomon.

RE: Tuttle Fan in Boudinot Cemetery, OH
Solomon is my 4th Great-grandfather also with his wife Sarah Law (or Low). Unfortunately the small cemetery no longer exists since the Boudinot family over the generations has used the land to farm. The markers were strewn into a ravine on the property. I will be happy to email you the directions to the property. It is private property and the family themselves led us to Solomon's marker which is propped up against a tree. My sister and I were thinking of "liberating" it and possibly putting it in Zanesville where his son is.

Sorry I'm not able to help you on your research. I was in this cemetery taking various photos and looking for another family member. I later found that this memorial was not on findagrave so I posted it.
Again sorry.
