Memorial #41419315
I was wondering if the birth date on this is incorrect. Otis's brother, William Lamdena Hendrickson, was born 10/29/1828 so I'm not sure about Otis being born 10/14/1828. Is there a way to check this? Thank you, Kimery Franzen

Ruth Ann Shoopman
Hi Debbie,
Jerusha Ann "Ruth" Spiva Burress Shoopman (#41418573) is buried in Greenmount Cemetery in Qunicy - not Scott, which is indicated in the Illinois Death Index and Greenmount website. To consolidate the 2 memorials for her, please update your memorial to show the correct cemetery and I remove the memorial in Greemmount I had created for her there.

I agree that James & Nancy Ennis were probably Elizabeth Ennis Rinehart's parents.

Do you know where they are?

Rook's Creek Cemetery
I was out at Rook's Creek today looking for graves, and also searched for Elizabeth Johnson
(b. 1777, d. 1846.) You had submitted a photo request back in 2010. My daughter and I really searched, but could not find her. There are a large amount of totally illegible stones. I'm guessing hers is among them.

We spoke with the person in charge of the property. He told us he has a list of who bought grave plots there, but it only goes back to the 1930's. He said he guards it with his life and it is very fragile.

He told us the original cemetery list was written on animal skin with a quill pen. He said it has disintegrated to dust.
Too bad nobody thought to copy it before then.

Right now there is no record of where Elizabeth is buried. The man told us that a boy working on his Eagle Scout badge is working on the stones there. I plan to contact him.

Just wanted to give you an update. Pam

Delaine Shirley-Noyer
The Scotts & Pennells
Hello there,

we MUST be related. I've been working on the Pennell family memorials and decided to start working on the Scott's side this afternoon. I was pleasantly surprise to see you already have it up and running--yahoo!

So my g-g-grandparents are Cynthia "Rebecca" Scott and David Pennell. My mother Betty Moore-Shirley was raised by Becca & David's daughter Effie May Pennell Bartholomew.

I have all their old family photos, etc. and will post what I have.

Let me know where you fit in with the Scott's. I recognize the Walters & Fox Surnames--are those folks still around Macomb? The Scott farm is still in the family!? How about the Pennell farm?

I look forward to hearing from you soon.
