Hall cemetery request
Did you ever get the pictures. Are these family members?
If they are and you don't have them, I can try to help out when spring comes. I' m not going near any wooded area until after hunting season is over and the ground is dry? I notice there is no map for the Hall Cemetery. Do you have one. Do you know who owns the land where the graves are located?
If hou can get that information, I can try to get the pictures for you in April after turkey hunting season is over - provided the cemetery is near a road. I'm a senior citizen and I'm terrified of snakes!

Let me know!

If I have made correct calculations, Janet's 2nd great grandfather (Mark H Powell) was a brother to my great grandfather (Joshua S Powell).
Joshua married Alice Emma Lowery and had several kids. Their youngest was Leona Anna Powell and she married my grandfather Lloyd Harold Bennett. They had several kids (Lloyd Harold Jr is deceased) and my dad, Jim, was the youngest.
He and my mom are still married. I have one brother.
Most of the earlier generations in my ancestry line had lots of children so there are a lot of 2nd and 3rd cousins out there.
My Bennett line came from England in the mid 1860's. I have a couple of generations documented back in England.
I'm one of the only ones in my closer family that has done any research. My search started with just the names of my grandparents and not much more. I work really hard to document true connections with birth/marriage/death certificates, census info, military records, what-have you.
Anyway, let me know if you have any questions for me.

Thank you for letting me know there was an error for her mother. I've linked her now to the correct mother. I don't know how I made that mistake.

RE: Oliver Roland/Rowland- Concord Cemetery
Hi Rob & Janet,
I have processed the edits that you have provided. I am sorry to have ofended you, but I always try to do what seems to be right for any given situation. Since someone else felt that the name should be spelled Rowland because they thought that was actually correct, I was trying to compromise. Many memorials are not found by people searching for them because they have the name that is on the stone and not the name that the person had at the time of death. Also, sometimes the spelling of the name on the stone is incorrect. This is not a perfect situation. You could have searched for the Roland family using the first name and that way found out how they were listed.

If you would like I would be glad to transfer the memorials for the Roland family to you and you can do what ever you like with them.

Thanks, Linda

Oliver Roland/Rowland- Concord Cemetery
Hi Rob & Janet,
Thank you for sending along the name information regarding the Roland/Rowland family in the Concord Cemetery in Scotland County, Missouri. I originally had the names listed as Roland. Then I got a message from someone who said the name was Rowland. That is why I have included both spellings.

Thanks, Linda

RE: Olivet Cemetery, in Center Rall, MO
There were several headstones that I skipped because I didn't have the supplies I needed at the time to clean the headstones or the lighting was wrong, etc. However, I think I have some information on your relatives in my files. Unfortunately, I recently moved and my genealogy info is in a box somewhere. As soon as I locate it, I will see what I can find. I will be going back to Olivet to finish photographing headstones just as soon as the weather gets warmer--think March.

I will have to go back over my information as it has been a while. My Aunt Helen VanPelt Mears' mother's maiden name was Treaster. There are VanPelts and Treasters still living in this area. I will try to get the information and get back to you. The last two years I haven't been doing much with Find a Grave as our son had cancer and died. I had gotten a request this week for information and saw that I had several that needed answering.

I got this information from old cemetery records for Adiel Cemetery. I recently moved and haven't yet located all my genealogy records, but when I find them, I will double check it's accuracy.

RE: Jacob Roland
We visited the Hostetter & Salt River Cemeteries in 1996. If my memory serves me correctly, there was a metal marker attached to his tombstone at the Salt River Cemetery stating the stone had been moved. The picture I found is not close up enough to read what it says on the marker.

There were markers attached to some of the stones at the Hostetter Cemetery in Pike County also. We didn't meet Dr. Hayden, but his name was on these markers as being responsible for them. I believe he is a Hostetter descendant but not a Roland descendant.

Enos Roland & Susan Jane Alcorn are my husband's great grand parents.

Jacob Roland
Jacob Roland's tombstone is in the Salt River Cemetery. When my husband and I were there several years ago, there was a marker on it stating the stone had been moved from the burial site by a Dr. Hayden. Since, it did not say the remains were moved, I believe they are in the other cemetery.
We visited with Goldena Roland Howard and she was very angry that the stone had been moved.

Anna Strieker
I added the photo for Anna Strieker, even though the date of death differs. It must be the correct one because of the maiden name on the stone, and the date of birth.
If you want me to remove it, let me know.

RE: Schonhoff/St Louis Area
Hi, I'm not related. I'm just documenting Sts. Peter & Paul cemetery in St. Louis. Good luck on your search. I had a very similar one that I worked on for years: I knew my St. Louis Mueths were related to the Illinois Mueths, similar names, etc, plus my great aunt had mentioned there was a connection. Turns out the connection was in Germany, just prior to immigration.

You requested another picture of his headstone. I took one today that I feel is pretty clear, but I don't feel comfortable adding it since there is already one on the memorial page. But if you would send me your e-mail address I'd be happy to send it to you and you can use it for whatever you need it for.
