Friendship Cemetery
Glad we could help. All we did was take pix and transcribe what we found. If I happen to manage memorials for any of your relatives - please let me know and I'd be thrilled to transfer them to you!

RE: Meharg Williamson Photo
Thanks for adding the pics. I just added my Wood family in the Senath cemetery. Lovie Williamson Wood was Effie Meharg's sister. Also one of the Wood children was named Mary Julia for Mary Madeline Karnes and Julia Karnes, per oral family history. I was just down in Senath today and they have a new cemetery sign. I added the photo to the Senath cemetery site. Lovie was my Grandmother so I guess we are distant cousins. Nice to meet you and thanks again!

RE: Lester Aldrich Family Graves
Hi Joe,
So sorry for replying so late! I checked a website with a list of interments for the Arroyo Grande Cemetery and found a record for Lester, but not his wife or any other Aldrich or Caneer family members. If you'd like to confirm that to be on the safe side, the phone number for the A.G. cemetery is (805)489-2475. Here is the link for the website that I used:

Sorry that I can't be of more help! Hope you find her!

Oops - I spelled Myrtice's name wrong in the sentence about the death certicate clearly shows Myrtice but the C is mistaken for L. It should be Myrtice, not Mertice!

RE: Mary E. Taylor Stewart
Joe, I sent the below message to the creator of the memorial for Myrtice Taylor today. As explained in the message I believe Myrtice is the same person as Sarah M in 1900 Missouri census and Myrtle in the 1910 and 1920 Tennessee censuses. The birth dates are the same...

Please link Myrtice Taylor to her parents:
Father 57758395 William Sampson Taylor
Mother 57758387 Ella Nora Caneer Taylor

Myrtice Taylor's death certificate (mistakenly listed on as Myrtile unless recently changed)shows this relationship. The actual death certificate shows Mertice but the C was mistaken for a L when transcribed.

I believe her first name is Sarah - according to the 1900 Missouri census she is shown as Sarah M. The 1910 and 1920 Tennessee censuses show her as Myrtle. But the death certificate clearly shows Myrtice.

She had three known siblings:
Mary E Taylor (Stewart) b.1891 #81936580
Hershal A Taylor b. 1895
Eugene Wallace Taylor b. 1900

Thank you for linking her to her family.

I added the pic, you're welcome. It is beautiful there it's a huge cemetery they have I think 20 different entrance gates, your family is in the oldest part which is the best area I think, old tree's and deer walking around.
I've spent a summer in Tulsa so I know the humidity it's unexplainable to people! my Uncle retired to Ozark,Missori I have been through there and I love Eureka Springs,Ark but I am a California girl, you have my sympathy with the heat,it's been on the news here.
Let me know if there are more pic's you need I'd be glad to take them.

Actually, I may take another pic sometime as that one had all the bird doo-doo on it and I thought it looked terrible. Didn't have anything with me to clean it off at the time. I will try to replace the picture soon!

Robert Samford
Hello from Arkansas. I received a request for you today regarding Robert Samford in Missouri. I live on the Arkansas/Missouri line so I do a few request in Missouri. The only Samford I have for that cemetery is a child, and his name is Willard. Just thought you'd like to know and maybe some relation.

Daniel and Bertha Harwell

Thank you for the additional and correctional information. I have removed Daniel's parents and sent a request for those parents to be added to Bertha's memorial.

Wanted you to know that I have spent this evening placing all the Harwell's, Moore's and Thompson's from the Mounta Zion Cemetery listing.

There are still a lot of people to be added to this cemetery and I hope to continue soon so it is completely added to Find A Grave.

You might want to go to Mount Zion and see if any of your family members have been added. I know that Fannie wasn't there, but if you have a death certificate that states she's been buried there (back in the olden days they listed that information on death certificates more than they do now days) and you have her birth and death dates, I would be more than happy to add her or you can and state in the Bio that her death certificate stated where she was buried! Then you can link her with her husband. It showed that he was married twice. One was for just a year unless he divorced his first wife!

Hope this helps you. Judi & DJ

I posted their gravestone photos. Both are very hard to read, but if you click on them to enlarge them, you can read them. As of yet, I have not located the gravestone for Louis Valbert.

I should be the one thanking you. It is like Find A Grave, is almost like family, the way that we all help each other.

RE: Lucinda Ewing McGavock
No relation. I use Find a Grave for genealogy primarily, but I also am on a mission to register every little family cemetery in my area. So many are old and disappearing, that if we don't capture them soon we will lose them forever. The McGavock Cem is at least fenced and tended, but even at that there are only 5 markers left with any names, and two of those are broken. So most Fridays I head out to spend the day transcribing and photographing and sometimes go out after dark for the harder to read markers. It's a lot of fun. I'm also missing the burial for my 5th great grandfather, and I suspect it's simply because no one has recorded his burial yet. The thought that someone else is looking for their ancestor and a perfectly good headstone is out there just waiting to be recorded keeps me going back out every opportunity I get.

Glad I could help out.

RE: Thanks So Much
Your most welcome..and YES, i have been 2 alot of cemeteries lately, and Ive got that Douglass name stuck in my head, so if i see a headstone, i snap it..I have had ALOT of requests, and since ive been off work, i have been trying to get them for ppl..But you know what, alot of ppl arent quite as gratefull as you, i dont even get acknowledged for over half the pics i take, so i think im about to slow down. I took 287 pics over 2 days a couple of weeks ago, and had them all posted within a couple of days, ive only had 3 thankyou's...That makes me sad..
