RE: Crazy Walking Family Cemetery-Sioux County, ND
Hi Mike,

Certainly! Actually when comparing that Google map to another source of maps online, it appears that the Church St location is probably your best bet. There's definitely a cemetery there, I just don't know the name. It could be St. Peter's Catholic Church... (The other map did not show what appears to be stones at the other intersection). How about trying Langhans Funeral Homes in Parshall? Their phone is 701-862-3321 or email at
Good luck!

Kind regards,

RE: Crazy Walking Family Cemetery-Sioux County, ND
Hi Debbie,
Thank you for the info. I will check out that Google map you sent. I did try to get ahold of the funeral place but they didn't respond.

RE: Crazy Walking Family Cemetery-Sioux County, ND
Hello Mike,

Sorry for the delay in responding to your email. I did try looking for directions to that family cemetery online, but could not find anything other than it being located in Fort Yates. Since Fort Yates is an island, it would limit your driving search a bit ;-) Looks like mostly the southern portion of the island is developed, so a good place to start. I looked over an aerial view of Fort Yates and the only places I spotted that could possibly be cemeteries are at the intersections of Standing Rock Ave & Senior St
as well as Church St & Proposal Ave
here on Google Earth:'12.0%22N+100%C2%B037'45.1%22W/@46.0941882,-100.6306347,432m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x0?hl=en

I would suggest contacting DaWise Perry Funeral Home at (701) 663-3239. They seem to service many Native American Indian funerals. Sorry I can't be of further help. Good luck! I hope someone can locate it to take tombstone photos. :-)

Kind regards,

Hi Debbie,
I noticed that you have 5 memorials in the Crazy Walking Family Cemetery and I was hoping you could help me. Would you happen to have the directions to get to this cemetery, or pictures, or references, or, or. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I agree they are slow and I don't expect any action for weeks, either. Until something happens, I think I might change the name on my site so that Grass is the last name. And add a referral to memorial page 191 for the bio. If Find A Grave gets its act together I'll delete my page.

I may need help. I just got my first rejection of my edit suggestion. Probably for the name change to include his Indian name. I'll wait to see what they do with your suggestion and mine to amend the cemetery name.

She needs to move that girl and get the cememetery unlisted, it doesn;t exist and she made it up! Why I don't know I didn't see North anything listed as where Claymore church and Cemetery were?

Chief Charging Bear Grass
Thanks for your suggestions for these two sites. When I visited the cemetery last summer, I had no idea this was the grave of a famous chief. This will be my first experience working with findagrave to get pages merged. We'll see how this works.

RE: Claymore Family Cemetery
I think she made a mistake I think that girl belongs in the cemetery in NOrth Dakota myself did you find out if she created that cemetery or not? She is the only one in it why didin't she put her in a cemetery called Claymore family Cemetery that is what the obit said the name of the cemetery was and it looks like she created one in SD that may not and I am about sure does't exist!

RE: Claymore Family Cemetery
Don't think I can help with the cemetery locations, all I know for sure is Claymore family were early settlers in that are of South Dakota. Looking at that cemetery I am certainly not sure it exists, I can't tell if findagrave created it or the person who put Mary Claymore in it, I have no idea what North Eagle Butte means, I have been to Eagle Butte, it is so small that to call something North Eagle Butte is funny, but maybe it is suppose to mean North of Eagle Butte.I would contact the person who put Mary Claymore there. There are of course Claymore buried all over Corson County and other counties, this is a part of the 1941 Graves project that was done in South Dakota, and you can see where they were then, some of these cemeteries have different names now than they did then of course, !Some of the Counties don't exist anymore either, SD is wonderful for that! It took a long time to decide what they were going to be, and when the formed new ones they took land from several counties so the one that is in Armstrong County might be anywhere!

Sorry, I have no clue. I only placed her according to what was written in her obituary that I came across. Good luck.

Freeman graves
Yes, they are not in good shape, but I've certainly seen much worse. I will look again next time I am over there (I am starting a general survey of this cemetery, which is under-photographed and under-counted on Find a Grave), but I took photos of every grave in that family area and did not find a grave for Martha. I may have missed it and will double check.

I've transferred Solly. I wonder where the other Sutherland's were buried? James was the only one on the cemetery index. Not a common name around here. Interesting...Thanks again, on this Memorial Day, for all you do for our fellow vets.

Done, my pleasure. There is another civil war vet buried next to him, John Solly, of Co. I, 61st NY INF. I will add a memorial, but I'm happy to transfer to you, if that's ok. Just let me know.

Your welcome I was glad to do it. I noticed there are other Freeman Graves in this Cemetery. I don't know if they are from the same family. If you want pictures I will get them.

Henrik C. Wold

I'm just very curious...... I went out to Drammen Cemetery today to fulfill your photo request for Henrik C, Wold. I got the pix of both him and his wife Aslaug. When I went to upload it, I fould your memorial for Henrik Hansen Wold and see I had already posted the same pix last summer. The obit you have there says that he was baptized Hansen Wold but later took the legal name Henry C. Wold. Shouldn't he be listed as Henty C. Wold?

Thanks, Bill Hart

FYI, I also added a photo of Clara Binkley's tablet (Memorial# 143970791). She is buried next to Elonzo.

RE: Sutherland, Rollag
When I was looking for his stone yesterday I thought the name was familiar and wondered if I had seen it at Old Yankee. I had already been to grong, but didn't look for it there. I'll keep my eyes peeled.
