|Marlene Smith||RE: Clough family|
Ted, I would have never looked in Garwin Cemetery but I found these two memorials in my managed file and it brought back a lost memory. It was a cold, wet day in April last year when I traveled to Tama Co., Iowa with my friend, Nora after attending my gret-nephew;s wedding. Nora is from Garwin and has half the cemetery as relatives. I had my camera with wedding photos and added a few rows of tombstones till my fingers froze. I transferred to you and if there are any more, let me know.

Ted, What cemetery are these two buried in. I've worked in a dozen cemeteries but can't seem to locate these two.

If the Clough family is connected to you, please ask for a transfer. I am more than willing to hand such memorials to other members. I'm not sure how long I'll be able to work on my computer. It is getting hard to sit and type.

Thanks for adding we now have good info on both him and her as she remarried and her name was no longer Wood.

Thanks for your corrections. You don't need to let me know about every one, but I do appreciate your time. It's very confusing when there are 2 cemeteries in the same county with the same name. I think Humboldt County has three Union Cemeteries and Hardin has at least two. Thanks, again.

It looks like most of WPA records that just say Maple Hill are Montour. Some say Indian Village Twp which I believe is Montour. Thanks for all your work adding memorials. Do you live in Tama County? We live in Woodbury Co., so it is not very feasible for us to take gravestone photos there. Linda

Thank you very much. You already had the picture so I hated to make another photo request and not have you get the credit for it.

I was wondering if you could transfer Memorial# 121687709. One of my daughters ancestors and i am trying to connect the families. Thanks.

Looks like a made a typo mistake. The tombstone says he died Mar 19 1895 so your memorial is a duplicate -Louis

If you would like a photo of the gravesite, I would be happy to provide that. This section of the cemetery is dirt only.

|Kim Kincaid||Kimbley's in Garwin|
Are there other Kimbley's in the Garwin Union Cemetery? I'm looking for Henry & Susan Kimbley's children. Alice Kimbley Menzie, Edward Harry Kimbley, Glenn Kimbley & Nora Kimbley Ruppenkamp.
Also, any possibility that you could take a closeup of Henry's Footstone that shows his birth & death dates.

Yes, Sandy (Nielsen) Spire is my mother. She lives in Iowa City. You must be a Garwin graduate. :)
I'll let her know we chatted.

Okay, here they are. I hope that I get all the numbers correct- and I do apologize if I am repeating any of them.
1) Robert Montgomery, 90591072
2) "Mother" Montgomery, 90591067. Her name was Maria, but I did not find a marker for her. The markers are as follows: Robert, Montgomery monument, large open space, and Matilda.
3) John A. Harvey, 90590844
4) Emma Harvey, 90590843
5) Edward Ruggles, 90591163
6) Mary Ruggles, 90591164
7) Maymie Ward, 90591345
8) G.A. Hanna, 90590831
9) Dennett W. Bridges, 90590627
10) Thomas J. Flynn, 90590766
11) Clinton Carter, 90590650
I wasn't sure what would be easier so I will submit edits with additional information.
Thank you again!!

|Nora Yahl||Beryl Camps Freet Beck|
Before I made my trip to Iowa I wrote to Linda and asked her about this memorial and then I wrote you. This is her answer:
weegie5656 Hi Nora, Mom's maiden name was Camps. Her mother was Wilda Beryl Mansfield maybe that is were the confusion is.
Not trying to be pesty, but strive for accuracy.

Ted, By the way, I wanted to thank you for all your good work at Garwin, Union Cemetery. I wasn't into Findagrave when I was taking pictures of my Freets and Lippincotts about 12 years ago. and have wanted to get back there and then when I did it was in a downpour of rain this past Sunday.
These graves will greet you as you go through the first gate.

|Nora Yahl||RE: Beryl Beck|
From what you say you must live in the area, and probably know just about everything about Garwin.
And we would have several families in common.
I was born there, d/o Thelma Freet who is first cousin to LaVern Freet's father. My grandfather Benny Freet died in 1955 in Garwin where he was also born.
I just returned from a visit there. I don't know which was worse, the rain or the snow we encountered in Waterloo.
Back to the subject, I know Beryl's maiden name is camps because I did genealogy a few years back with Linda, her daughter by her second husband.
I have her obit and if you do also, read it again as it says she is the d/o Thomas and Wilda Mansfield Camps. Mansfield is her mother's maiden name. The name Camps is on the next line down and you probably didn't see it.
If you don't have it, I could e-mail it to you as I haven't figured a way to copy and paste to this message.
Have a good day,
Nora Steart Yahl in St. Louis, MO
