RE: Thank you
Hi again! I hit a sort of mother lode on information for you today when I went to the cemetery! The only thing is, though, that there was only one gentleman working in the office today (very nice guy), so I could not ask him to look and see if there are any obits on the files for Rosa and Francesca. HOWEVER, here is the boatload of stuff I did find out:

1. Michele Cirullo is definitely also known as Michael or Mike, as he is listed that way on the payment of his plot and also on a couple of censuses. A Mrs. Theresa Barge, 2370 Cherry Street, San Jose, CA is the one who bought his plot or paid for him to be buried there, anyhow. The receipt for the transaction also said that Pancadore & Alameda was the funeral director in charge. It also said "3 in grave - 1918, 1925, and Michael. Redwood Box $2600.00".

2. I looked up variations of the last name. Cirullo only had one listing in the digital archives, and that was for Michael (Michele). Rosa (not Rose) was listed under Cirullia, so that's maybe where you got that name originally. In regards to Rosa, I looked up all the Felice's and Bisceglia's in the cemetery to match them up with the inscription on the headstone she had that was "erected by A. Felice and P. Bisceglia". P. Bisceglia was probably Pasquale Bisceglia, of which I took photos and they are now in FindAGrave. There are 8 Bisceglia's buried in the big family mausoleum (Alphonse, Amalia, Bruno P., Clara, Clare, Flora, John A., Pasquale). All of them are now represented on FindAGrave, along with the photos. I also looked up all the A. Felice's, and there's an Angelina, an Angeline A., an Anthony Michael, and an Antonio, none of which I had a chance to go take photos of today, but I will try to go back tomorrow. I am not sure who the A. Felice or P. Bisceglia are in relation (or friend) to Rosa "Rose", but my guess was that she may have married a Bisceglia and was originally a Cirullo. Do any of those names ring a bell in your family tree?

3. Francesca is NOT listed in the digital files at the cemetery, though she is buried there.

4. I also found a Fanny Cirulla, 1862-1933, buried in Block 42NA, Lot 4C. I have uploaded her into FindAGrave in case she is a relative, maybe possibly the sister of Francesca and Michele (Michael)?

Okay, I'm worn out now, lol. Get back to me on whatever you think!

RE: Thank you
Yes of course, send me an email with your email address: . I will send them to you there. I will research about the obits from 1919, BUT I would seriously email the cemetery first to see if they have a copy with their records... and while you're at it, ask about the other Cirullos.

RE: Thank you
Hi there!

If you email me your email address, I will send you the original photos for you, which are the good quality (instead of how they look after they're uploaded here). However, if you use it on any other website, just be sure to put "taken by Squeak (#47437442) from" on it. =) I may end up finding some more Cirullos in that area and just took another 600 pictures or so last week. Did you ever call the cemetery to ask them if there are any more Cirullos there?

By the way, I just some online researching for you. The only thing date-wise that I was able to find for Rosa or Francesca is Rosa's death date of 1/9/1919 and a copy of the death record book with her entry, but you already knew her birth and death year because of the top headstone on the plot. I cannot locate ANYTHING on Francesca.

I did find Michele's death info, except they listed it under "Michael". Birth date is May 29, 1868 in "other country", death date is January 10, 1958 in Santa Clara County, California.

For the others, I was even doing alternate spellings, I looked on death indexes, census records, even Ellis Island records, and didn't find anything. Very strange.

I would either call or email the cemetery and ask for the information you are looking for. They are pretty nice and understand trying to find your family. Let me know what you come up with.

RE: Hello!!!!!
I have been to this cemetery. It is one of the most difficult cemeteries to find that I have scouted. I was literally standing in the cemetery and didn't know it. The town of Perryville has long since faded away. The cemetery is accessible only during the dry season via rugged logging roads. The cemetery is covered in a forest layer several feet thick. I found the graves of a couple of relatives of Isaac but his headstone unfortunately is either gone or unreadable.

Unfortunately I have misspelled his name when I posted him back in 2007 with a stone picture. I have now corrected his memorial.
Thanks for catching this error and if you would delete the double posting. Sorry about all this mix up.

RE: Hello
I had worked on photographing all the graves at Roselawn last year; there are a number of grave markers that didn't have death dates on them. I didn't know if this was the family or the funeral home's oversight. The obituary for Irene Mitchell listed a daughter in Stuart which is the next county over. Perhaps she might have some information on it. Here are links to the funeral home

and the cemetery

Hope this helps.

RE: Hello
Not a problem but did check with the Cemetery Office and they were unable to find records for Lena or her husband. Their son is buried there though ... and has a memorial site on FIND A GRAVE.

I also called the funeral home who reportedly handled Lena's arrangements. They too were unable to locate records, for Lena, at the time of my call.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

With warm regards,

RE: Hello and good day!
Anna Louisa Casey Mitchell is my 2g Grandmother. She was married to William Henderson Mitchell. One of their daughters was Alice Mitchell (b. 1858) who married John F. L. Armfield. At least, that's what my information shows. Are these the Mitchells about whom you inquired? Are we cousins?

RE: Nancy and William Smith
I didn't find a Nancy H. around William in Block 0. If it helps, William was listed as a black man and buried next to Abron Smith and Wayne Smith Jr. (Lot 11).

Block 0 is located in the black section of Old Trinity/Oakwood Cemetery. The cemetery book for that section shows a lot of "Unknown" graves. Each "Unknown" in that block has a number on the headstone.

I would call the cemetery office at 817-624-3531 to see if William Smith's (#154)file list his wife. Also, check on the Unknown Smith's #156 and 158 in Block 0, Lot 10-W1/2.
