I transferred your uncles to you! Anything for someone from the Pacific Northwest! I am also from the same and have lived all over that area and now live in Texas. Been here over 30 years and still love it!

He is also, Julia & William are is 2nd Great Grandparents on his fathers side. Elijah "Lige" Cox is his Great Grandfather and Gladie Cox is his Grandmother. By all means, you keep them, I just want them to be with family and not just part of a cemetery index. They are in good hands...so I am happy. If I run across any info I will send it your way, however, you've got this pretty covered already. Thank you - Bonnie

Thank you for the information on Rosanna Gmelin Wentz. I have corrected her memorial so that it now contains her maiden name.

Then that is the one you want. I will post the picture forthwith. Here is the information from Adabel's husband:
Lyle J Wentz 1904-1946

|bluelady||Charles Wentz 1941|
This may not be the Charles you want. He is buried in a completely different part of the cemetery. The Charles that is near Adabel died in 1922 and was a child. Adabel has a husband named Lyle and I have that picture as well.

I thought you might be Cyndi Ingle, operator of Cyndi's List (which is a great resource!). She lives just outside of SeaTac in Washington, and you said you were in the Northwest.
There are 2 competing origin stories for the Wentz line. One is the 4 brothers on the ship Samuel; the other is a privateer named Peter Wentz, whose home was allegedly used as HQ by Geo. Washington during a battle. They were originally in the Montgomery County-Chester County area outside of Philadelphia. A lot of the Wentz children married Pennys, as I'm now discovering.The link I sent you is for a family book that was put together in the late 19th century and favors the Peter Wentz story. Let me know if you figure out which one is right.

Ah! That's the problem. I didn't add that picture memo. Someone else must have after I posted the picture. I hadn't even noticed it. I've corrected it now.
I've also spent most of the afternoon connecting the Bethesda Wentzes with their proper parents, spouses, etc. Find A Grave will process the links over the next few days, so there will be less confusion in the future.
You're not by any chance the Cyndi I know, are you?

|Richard Aurand Sherer||Adelaide Wentz|
I am distantly related to the Wentz family. My 2x great grandaunt, Louisa Agnes Yost, was married to William Henry Wentz 12 Sep 1872. They lived in Martic (sometimes spelled Martick) Township in Lancaster County, PA - roughly where the town of Holtwood is now. William Henry Wentz was the son of William G. Wentz and the grandson of Joseph Wentz and Sarah Smith.
Adelaide Wentz, b. 20 Sep 1850, d. 22 Jul 1853, was the daughter of William Henry Wentz's uncle, Thomas Wentz, and his wife, Mary Jane Penny. The record of her death is available in the "Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Church and Town Records, 1708-1985" database on Ancestry.com.
As to whether or not she is actually buried there, I really can't say. I stood over her grave stone and took a picture, so I assume that's where she is. :-)
Isaac Wentz, b. 1 Feb 1808 in Martic Twp, d. 23 Aug 1891 in Jones, OK, was William Henry Wentz's uncle and the brother of Adelaide's father, Thomas. In the 1850 census, he has a daughter named Adelaide, age 13. She would have been a 2nd cousin (I think) of the Adelaide buried in the Bethesda cemetery.
The "Biographical Annals of Lancaster County" includes a couple of articles about the Wentz family, including one about Isaac's nephew, W.J. Wentz, MD, that traces the early history of the family. It's online at https://archive.org/details/biographicalanna00megi
Hope this helps.

|cheri pettit||RE: Raymond Sweet|
I'm so glad to meet you. The only thing I have been told about grandpa is that he would drink a lot and he was married before with a child. I'm sure the more I talk to my uncle's the more I'll find out. Thinking about it I think I remember your name coming up. So much for both of us to learn about our family. Thanks for responding and give me a call when you get a chance.

THANKS so much for the transfer Cyndi! I just finished adding what we have to his memorial.

I found your request to add the information to Louis and added it. For some reason, I had overlooked it when it first appeared and then failed to go back and do it.
Have a great week.

Thanks for the information on William's parents. I have included that in his biography. I am probably related to William's two wives, Caroline and Sarah English.

Cornelias grandfather Joel Merideth Maudlin was my GGGrandfather. 1st cousin 2x removed is how ancestry puts us. LOL. Newton Marion and my GGrandfather John Eli were brothers. Glad I took the picture because I didn't realize there were still relatives in Kirk that I didn't have photos of. Thank you for the note! Barb

|Sandi K ||Huffs & Hightrees|
Interested in these families - as a child our family traded at Huff & Hightree's IGA, I graduated with their son Gene, who is now in bad condition in a nursing home in either Lyons or Oakland, NE. Plan to look him up in Oct when I get home - he was adopted by Rolin Hightree & Lucille Huff Hightree. Glad for the additions/edits. Thanks, Sandi

|Sandi K ||Delilah Gunsolley|
Transferred Sarah - as best I recall Delilah is in Sec 1, older section of the cem than Albert & Sarah, Sec 2. She lies quite near my greatgrands - the others are on side which was sold later. If she is their child, perhaps original settlers who took up Sec 1 might not have needed all their plots & sold one off, but seems like parents would have obtained more than one plot & they are the only ones w/name in Sec 2. Those around them totally unrelated as I know them. Since she's unmarried & died before the couple, perhaps she's Albert's sister? A puzzle.
In another vein the Huffs are in Section 4. I have looked for Gladys Gray(sp) Huff, a spinster who taught me in 2nd grade. She was alone in the world & can't imagine her buried anywhere but Decatur - but?? Thanks, Sandi

|WhiteTulips||RE: Emmaline Bruner|
Hi, her parents are Adam C. Bruner and Indiana Meeks. Indiana may have been known as Lucinda also. Her brother was Thomas Bruner, my g-grandfather. They also had a half-brother, William Grey. Indiana was married to a man named Grey before marrying Adam Bruner.
