I'm not related to the Johnson's in Surgoinsville as far as I know. We live close to the Bethel Church Cemetery and I attend Fudges Chapel UMC where some of them are buried.

If I have heard from a Mary E. Brown, I am not aware of it. I receive a number of requests and emails on various memorials I have listed. Often times I never hear from those people again. So, I am being honest when I tell you I don't know. Is there a particular reason you are asking?

Isn't everybody related to the Johnsons? :)
I have run across several on my Sizemore/Lawson side of the family across Clinch and my Smith side in Goshen Valley. Smith's are just about as hard to trace down...

I saw your photo request the other day, and looked for the cemetery yesterday. I had not known about it before, and between reading the description of the cemetery and looking on Google Maps at the location, I was concerned we wouldn't find anything at all. We did not find the individuals you asked for photos of. We only were able to read one stone and a partial of a second one that was broken. I made a blog post about our quick little visit, including several photos so you can see the current condition of this cemetery. Hopefully we can generate some local interest and get some work done. There's no telling what may be found there after some cleaning.

Checking back on my records I found that all the pictures and information I have came from what you shared with me back in 2008. I don't believe I have any other information on her. I was glad to see you are still gathering information on ancestors.

No, I'm not related to the Anders family. Wish I could help you but I know nothing other than what I've found in books about Putnam county.

Check back by the end of the week and I will add the other 2 Jarvis stones in Section 16. There were 4 or 5 Jarvis's in Section 5.

You are most welcomed. I did take the other Jarvis stone pictures close to Donna. There are still 2 listed in Section 16 that I will try to get this afternoon. Section 16 is much larger than 5 where Donna is located.

I transferred your uncle's original memorial to you (and moved your bio over from your duplicated memorial). Paul has hundreds of thousands of names attached to his account and I believe his 'no transfer' policy stems from the frustration of having dozens (probably more like hundreds) of people constantly requesting 'all of the Smiths in this or that cemetery' claiming that they are related to all of them. The admins of Find A Grave see that same sort of request daily and often it is just people trying to collect as many names as possible, while claiming some remote relation (even if it is just a shared name). Having a strict rule you can point to makes answering these people easy. NEVER straying from that rule for any exception seems to me to be a bit heavy handed but everyone is different in how they apply their rules. The whole 'ownership' mentality at Find A Grave leads to all sorts of issues and we are moving in the direction of getting rid of sole 'ownership' of a memorial to help alleviate the problem. Anyway, in this case, I think your Uncle's memorial should probably stick with your account for the reasons you mentioned.

|Joyce Nance-Woodcock||RE: Roy R. Shoup|
Glen, I would certainly be happy to take your photo but he is not located at Leav Natl, he's at Fort Leav. Also, your memorial (54623871) is a duplicate of memorial 3664409. So you could delete your memorial and do an "edit" to the Veteran's Administration for a transfer to you which usually only takes a day or two and then you can maintain it. Then request a photo; there is a lady that does the photo requests for Fort Leav Natl. It's confusing because both cemeteries are in the same town but she has been covering the Fort Natl and I have been taking photos at Leav Natl. Hope this helps. Have a great day !

Great, did you get the photo request in as when I talked with them on the phone they thought they knew just about where that section was and it would be so easy to find. You are welcome for the help...I just keep waiting for some breakthroughs for my lost family. AND I have gotten a few since doing this.

You have this individual in the wrong cemetery. Please delete that memorial and place him in the correct one.
You will find many times the Springfield National has been called as nick name Vets Cemtery for instance. But there has been added long after this nick name stuck the Missouri Veterans Cemetery here in Springfield.
I looked this person up on the Nationwide Grave Locator for the one that had taken the photo request because they could not find this one listed with the Springfield National Cemtery. That has been my only interest in this one. If you would change it I am sure they will be most happy to take the photo at that cemtery. They go to both of them to do Volunteer photos on most week-ends.

Roy, I happen to live in Arizona right now so don't have access to Highland cemetery in Havre. You might contact the Hill County volunteer on Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness.
