Martha Kinney Hall memorial
I believe that we have corresponded previously regarding William Hall, b. 1850, White County, IN, and Martha Kinney Hall.
You have a Find a Grave memorial for Martha Kinney Hall and Willis Hall buried at the Virgil City cemetery, Vernon county, MO.
Although they are buried under the same headstone, I do not believe they were husband and wife.
The 1880 US census for Greenwood county, KS lists William and Martha Hall as husband and wife, with 10 year old Willis as a son, along with other children.
Martha may have been Willisí step mother since he was born 4 years before William and Martha were married.
Best Regards
Douglas Hall

Jim McMillan
USMC Document related to Collum
William, my name is Jim McMillan, I am a retired Navy Commander and currently work as a civilian for the Dept of the Navy. I am a long time collector of antique naval documents and among my many pieces is a letter from Richard S. Collum, husband of what I presume to be one of your Kinney ancestors. I stumbled across your name / entry on Find a Grave as I was researching the history of Major Collum, USMC. If you have connections to any of the Collum clan I would be happy to provide a copy of this letter, which unfortunately is all business and no family in content. What it does do though is place the good Major on duty aboard the U.S.S. Tennessee in Yokohama, Japan in May of 1877. Please pass my name and home email address to any who might be interested in a copy. Take care, Jim (home) or (work)

Dear William,
I cam across your photo and details of Jerusha Egleston when searching on Ancestry. It's a long story but I think she may be related to my Egleston family. I see that her husband was James. Do you know, please, if there is any information on James Egleston or other memebers of her family in the same place?
Very many thanks.

nancy Winfield-Charles White graves
Your initial rendition of the photo showed Charles White at the left. Was there a record to that effect through cemetery records?

My thought was that the unmarked grave to the right was that of Nancy Winfield [based on the photo]. ....or were you simply saying that Charles was in an unmarked grave?

If there was an official record, did it give an exact space number, such as 198-1 etc?

On a slightly different subject, when you took the photo, where were you in relation to other nearby sections, such as G, etc? I am interested in knowing just where in the lot Charles and Nancy are in relation to other graves, or to the border of the section, and therefore to other sections. In the official map of the cemetery available thru the City of Marshall, Section F lies just to the west of Section G. Are the unmarked graves along the south border of section F, or just where in terms of north, south, east or west, or in relation to other sections? You may also contact me at

photo of Charles White's gravesite
Mr. Kinney,

Thank you very much for adding the photo of Charles White's gravesite.

I noted that you had also denoted the "unmarked" portion of the lot. That is important as well. Another ancestor's grave is in the unmarked part of the lot: Nancy Winfield 86572822

Since you are the owner of the photo, may I ask you to post the same one on Nancy Winfield's memorial? Also, if you feel like doing so, please annotate the photo to show that Nancy Winfield is buried in the unmarked part of the lot.

Best regards and many thanks for your effort,
Mike Christiaens
