Thank you
re: James Johnson

Thank you for adding 5 children to this memorial.

I knew of many of their children - Elisabeth (1866), Ellen (1866), James (1869), Arthur (1872), Carrie (1874), Herbert (1876), and Walter (1878) but was unsure where they were buried.

Had not come across Lucy (1866) or Priscilla (1871) in my research, but obviously they are buried there.

I have been trying to figure our for years what happened to my grandfather Walter Johnson. No one knew anything about him, he just disappeared. I only knew he died before I was born in 1956. THANK YOU !!

I drove through Fall River in the summer of 2013 and had no idea at that time my great grandparents were in Oak Grove Cemetery, until you were so kind to post the gravestone on 11/23/2013. THANK YOU, again !

If would consider transferring these 5 children findagrave entries to me, it would be most appreciated.

In2014, you posted a card on Thomas Boid Parks. I am a Parks and am researching the family tree. Can you give me information on where this card came from and the purpose of it?
Thank you.

Thanks for the help. I'm working on a Bodge genealogy and am trying to document the location of the graves and specifics of dates and relationships through them.

RE: Thomas and Hephzibah Burgess
Thank you. That makes sense. Hephzibah may be burried somewhere near William and his wife, mary Orrefors, and their three children. I see their graves in photos in Oak Grove that you added. I'm pretty sure Hephzibah was William and Thomas' mother. If she was, though, I would think she would be burried near one of them. I guess the records do say she was burried in Oak Grove, so maybe her marker fell apart or something. I will come there one day and have a look. I would like to see the mill that has been made into a National Park. So many of my ancestors came to work in them, and I'd love to see Fall River.

Thanks so much for all your work on Oak Grove Cemetery.

The Biltcliffe family are not my relatives, but I have a One Name study of the name Bilcliffe and its variants, and your work has helped a lot with this Massachusetts family.

If you are interested you can see ny study profile at the Guild of One Name Studies website:

Thanks again

RE: Thomas and Hephzibah Burgess
Thanks, yes, I do know about those things. Walter J. Burgess was my great-grandfather. Thomas was an engineer ("machinist as they were called then) who came from Lancashire to work on the looms. He was killed when one of the belts snapped. It must have broken his leg and he died of an infection in 1771. He was 32 years old. We think that his mother, Hephzibah's maiden name was Whitely, and were hoping this could be confirmed somehow on her gravestone. Her death certificate says her husband was John, although he wouldn't be in Oak Grove as he died in England before they emmigrated. We also think that William Burgess was her son. He and his whole family are buried in Oak Grove. Thomas's wife, Annie Monks Burgess Wakem is also buried there. Hephzibah was living with another Burgess family before her death in 1880. It states on the census that she is their aunt. Samuel Burgess (possibly her husband's brother), his son John, and his wife Mary Vinecombe. All of these Burgesses, Monks, Sharples who are my ancestors came from Lancashire in the nineteenth centure to work in the textile mills.

I have not been able to find burial records for Isabella, only that she died in Massachusetts in 1914, apparently before marrying. She was around 21 years.

Charles H Manchester d. Aug 5 1902
Oak Grove Cemetery in Fall River, Bristol County. This Charles H. Manchester is a Jr. and was born on 22 Jun 1902. He is the son of Charles Herbert Manchester born 1863 died March 1951 and Mary Agnes Dwyer. There is another record in same cemetery for Charles. Charles had three children with Mary Agnes Dwyer - Isabella 1813 to 1914, George Philip Louis 1900 to 1982, and the infant Charles H, Jr.

Mary Agnes is 1st cousin 3X removed from me.

Thomas and Hephzibah Burgess

I am trying to find the graves of my ancestors, Thomas Burgess and his mother Hephzibah (my second great grandfather and third great grandmother, respectively). You have posted photos of William Burgess' and his wife Mary Orford Burgess' grave in Oak Grove Cemetary, Fall River, MA. Also in Oak Grove are Thomas' wife, Ann H. Monks Wakem and their children, and many other relatives. Thomas lived from 1839-1871 and Hephzibah from 1798-1880. I thought that perhaps their graves would give some other information we are looking for, and would think they would also be burried in Oak Grove. If you come across their graves, please let me know. Thank you!

RE: Briery tombstones
Thank you for your prompt reply. I wish I knew
someone in area who would go to this small cemetery of 59 people and take their tombstone picture.
By the way I am in DAR for Stephen Waterman Rhode Island.
Your State must be very beautiful right now with the
trees turning. I live in Southern California and we are so dry here. Worried about the Santa Ana winds coming and the fire danger to our homes.

Briery tombstones
You take great tombstone pictures of people in Plaisted Cemetery. I was hoping you would go to the
cemetery and take picture of my Briery ancestors:
Thomas, Nancy, and daughter Jane Briery.
I have requested them in Find A Please let me know if you can do it?
