Hi, I transferred the three McKennon individuals you asked for but I want to retain management of Dean as he is a part of my family. I worked very hard to gather the information on them so hope it helped you a bit in your McKennon genealogy. Tena (Barnett) Ondeck

Janice Dill
Arch Madison McKennon's name
Papa Arch was my maternal grandfather. I could be wrong, but I believe his name was actually "Archie", but he was called "Arch". It was just "Papa Arch" and "Grannie Maude" to me. If you look at the tombstone, it shows "Archie M". If you have some documentation that it's actually "Arch" please let me know. Thank you, Janice Dill

RE: McKennon's
Hi, RE: Ed McKennon
Thank you for your messages. He was my relative and it's nice to find someone else who was too! It took a long time to find him. Yes, I am still active on find-a-grave. I would like to continue to manage his site for a while but please keep in touch. Thank you, Tena

RE: McKennon
Well I dug out my McKennon book. Do you have it? It was made by Douglas McKennon.

I found where we link GGG grandfather was Gideon Blakely McKennon. Pg 29. They missed two children on that list and one was my g grandmother-Lora May McKennon who married my g grandfather Arthur Porter Freeman.

I see a few of your surname listed in the index so is that your parents?

Transferring Daniel M to you now that I know how out of line he is to me!

RE: McKennon
Hi there

I found an online listing of the interred in Ramsey, unless I have the wrong Ramsey...I did not find Daniel listed there. Course the lists can be incomplete.

Should we move him over there and ask for a photo? Is Caledonia there too? I do see a lot of Curry's there on the list.

How related? I'd have to get the book out! It does come down thru John.

I would love to see what you have that I might not have!

This is the site with the listings in Ramsey. Very small cemetery with about 25 listings. Old cemetery

And we are talking Maury Co right??

Cousin up north!

Added by B*-*-*-L-*-*-*-U*-*-*--E on Jan 13, 2013 12:31 PM

From my sisters work in the late 70's into the 80's she has some papers listed deaths in Maury Co.

This is not the source of where I have Daniel right now. This info contradicts whatever that other was, if correct and if it is the right Daniel

This is the text from that research.

McKennon, Esq Daniel, died Sunday, age 86 yrs; buried Ramsey graveyard, Hampshire;survived by children, Mrs George W Bailey of Columbia; Mrs John Floyd of Nashville; and William McKennon of Ellis CO TX. Columbia Herald 1 Jan 1904

Does that sound like him??

Also going thru my research from the early 2000's I came across communications from you on some forum board maybe Rootsweb, not sure. You were still looking for Daniel then I think...

What do you think?

Hey there
A follow up

I think I found the info you were looking for concerning this SAC you sent me

Find A Grave contributor Johna Johnson Armistead has made a suggestion to you regarding your Find A Grave memorial for Daniel McKennon.
Link to memorial:
Link to contributor profile:

Their suggestion:
I am just wondering if Daniel is buried in this graveyard. Was this memorial made from an actual visit to the graveyard or from a book? I have requested a picture some time ago and still waiting ...just to confirm he is actually buried here. He was enumerated in 1900 in Ellis County Texas living with his son. Can you help me? Kindest regards, Johna Johnson Armistead

The link to the memorial is no good. Did it get deleted? I still have another Daniel McKennon memorial so I'm guessing that is not him.

Could you please remind me of what cemetery we were referring to?

Are you related to the McKennons? Just wondering. I am too.

I hope you can help me with this mystery.

Alice McGeeHee McKennon children
I believe the "Ivory M. McKennon" daughter shown in the 1900 McKennon census to be "Ivory Myrtle McKennon", wife of Luther Taylor. Luther Taylor's household in the 1940 Fort Worth Census shows his wife to be "Myrtle" age 44 and includes his Mother-in-Law "Alice McKennon", age 67. born in Tennessee. The ages fit the birthdates of Dec 1896 for "Ivory M." in 1900 Census and Valentine's Day. 1872 for Alice.
My interest is the Taylor line which I have assembled for my Son-in-Law. Note that Luther Taylor's full name is Horace Luther Taylor, b 31 Oct 1895 in Calhoun County, Georgia.
Although almost all of Luther's 11 siblings and his parents are buried in Midlothian, I have yet to locate where he and Myrtle are buried.
I certainly appreciate your efforts for Find-A-Grave.

Daniel McKennon
Sorry to take so long to respond

At this point since I did not leave a note in the note area to where I got the info I have no idea why I placed him there. Further investigation will have to be done. I am not sure if I have that info. I made that on another computer where all the info would have been saved. I can eventually get to that hard drive ( I hope ) and let you know.

I will save the SAC until you or I figure this out!

Daniel McKennon is in my direct line as well. I will however transfer Caledonia over to you. But to connect children to their parents is the only way to link them. Parents to children doesn't work.

Good luck

You are so welcome, I too know how it is to live miles away. My grandparents are buried in Calif. and I live in pa. I have never been able to go to their graves so I added them to F.A.G. and requested picsa and got them! I was so happy, so I am greatful I was able to help.
