Beulah Yarbrough Bobo

I am researching my Bobo/Yarbrough lines and I came across your memorial page of Beulah Yarbrough Bobo. Beulah is my 4th great grandmother. Do you have any documentation proving her maiden name was Yarbrough? Or any information on her or her parents? Thanks!

photo on Angela Herzberg memorial
Would you please remove your headstone photo from her memorial? A photo showing the front of the headstone was already posted on the memorial. Additionally the removal of your photo will leave room should a family member want to add any personal photos. Currently the memorial is at the 5 photo limit.

Harris - Webster, Indiana
Hi! I walked the entire cemetery today and was unable to locate the Harris headstones you are looking for: George, Stephen, and Jesse. I did locate a George B and his wife Janetta Harris that I will upload. Many of the headstones are just slabs of river rock with no engraving. I could upload a picture of some of those to the three memorials if you would like.

Hallie Price, New Prospect
Hi --

I have fulfilled your photo request for Hallie Price, New Prospect cemetery, Rusk County, Texas.

Although her monument has no date, her obituary in the Longview News-Journal (11/02/2000) confirms that she passed away in Henderson, Texas on October 31st, 2000 and was buried at New Prospect.

RE: Harriett Estas
Hi Leslie,

You're most welcome.

I'm sorry I couldn't find a marker for Harriet's sister, Elizann. Harriet's stone was surrounded by fieldstone markers, could she be buried under one of them?

The Douglass photo?
My claim has expired. Were you able to figure out if the photo I took was the correct Edward Douglass photo?

Added by rich on Jan 13, 2012 7:13 PM

RE: Douglass
No problem, take your time. I'll hold onto the photo and claim the request so no one else goes there to take the photo. Leave me a message when you get the info. Thanks.

Your photo request for Edward Douglass
Hi Leslie,
I tried to fulfill your request, but unfortunately, the cemetery office was closed. None the less I walked through the place as best as I could through some light on and off rain and after a couple hours I found a headstone with the name Edward P. Douglass b. 1891 - d.1952 in a shared lot with Alice P Douglass b.1894 - d.1984. You have him listed as b. 1892 passing in 1968, so this may be the wrong one or perhaps otherwise related. If this is the correct gentleman I will go ahead and fulfill the request, if not, I will contact the cemetery for the proper location and try again on a future visit. In addition to this I also found another monument, this one belonging to Thomas H Douglas b.1902 - d.1965. The surname though was a variant containing just one letter "S". He was buried with Anne Douglas b. 1911 - d.2004. So let me know if they are also related, I can email that to you if they are.

RE: Douglass/Eldredge photos
I could not find the grave of Shamgar Douglass. The Douglass and Eldredge graves were in different areas of the cemetery. Some of the headstones are impossible to read. I will check with the church, but any additional information about Shamgar would be helpful. Do you know who his parents were?

G W Murray
Hi, I am also connected to G. W. Murray.
My 3rd great-grandfather's brother, Edward A. Linton, married Drusilla Murray in May 1876 in Freestone Co, TX.
Her parents were Gibson Wooldridge Murray (born 1802 in South Carolina) and Drusilla T Brooks. I have some census information I would be glad to send you.

Smart Family-Hobart Oklahoma
I just wanted to let you know that I took some pictures of the Smart family in Hobart Oklahoma and I'm posting them as soon as I send this.

I want to apologize for the quality of the pictures. I did not get to the cemetery as early as I had hoped and I did not realize that the headstone would be facing the East, with the sun setting behind it in the West. I made several attempts to get a "perfect" photograph and after leaving the cemetery and returning almost two hours later, still could not get a photo that I was 100% happy with. I would have continued to wait but the weather looked as though it was going to get ugly and so I just decided to get what I could and leave.

Next time I am that way, which shouldn't be too long, I will stop again and make another attempt to get some better pictures of it.

Thank you for all you do,
Staci Pollard

RE: William Lindsey GRid #24582442
I sent the biographical information via the "Suggest a revision" feature of Find A Grave. If you will post that information in full with proper attribution to Vaughn Rowley, that will make me happy.

The Lindsey book privately published by Vaughn in 1963 contains a wealth of information. There are biographies and stories collected as early as the 1920's, including reproductions of family letters, accounts of Civil War battles and suffering, etc. The book covers history before and after the war, but I read lots of Civil War history last night, so that is on my mind.

Vaughn was a first cousin to my mother. Although Vaughn died shortly after the book was published, her sister Joy has played a significant role in my life -- including introducing my mother to my father. BTW - just posted a photo of both my mother Carol and Joy standing at William Lindsey's grave to his memorial on Find A Grave.

I put the Find A Grave ID number of the specific grandfather's record in the subject. I probably have a lot of genealogy info that will interest you, as I am sure you have info that I lack.
