J. Bevin
Pam,
I will be more than happy to try and located your request of J. Bevin D) 1863.
It is still very cool and very wet where I am.
I did not click "claim" if someone can meet your request sooner than I can.
In a week or two I am sure the weather will smile on us.
A road was built to the island in 1990.
It was a one land gravel road, about the size of gravel you would put in a drive way.
There were no guard rails and the waves came splashing up over the road.
My fear was great.
But the road they have now is much better.
I will be happy to try to meet your request as soon as possible.
Thank-you for asking,
Norma J. Brant-Schenk-Miller

Ellie Hook
Mabel Genevieve Lesley
Mabel married Frederick Harrison Hook (Fred) and they had only two children: Frederick Gary (Gary), born in 1941, and William Joseph (Joe), born in 1953. She had miscarriages in between the two.

I, too, am an avid Find A Grave contributor, but I just began on Joe's genealogy this year (we were married last December). I have researched my own genealogy extensively and also my late husband's, to whom I was married 43 years when he passed away in 2012.

I'll look forward to the final word on Newt's death date -- if he died Christmas day, as is according to the Oregon Death Records, it would probably be remembered.

RE: Jasper Newton Lesley
Hi Pam. Yes, Maybelle and Mabel are the same woman -- Joe said she went through a time when she was young that she wanted to change the spelling of her name (like many girls did). He said her name was actually Mabel, and her birth certificate and death certificate both say Mabel. It's nice to meet you. :)

RE: Emmer and Hubert Panther
Pam, yes, that site you mentioned was very helpful in locating my GGrandmother's grave which was in a private cemetery in Missouri, that turned out to be on property owned by the parents of one of her daughters-in-law - next-door-neighbors. which accounted for the next day burial - obscure, but the members stayed right with it until I received all of the records. A good group!

-Fredric Louis Shove 1857*1931
Wife Laura? what happened to her?

I only show one wife for Fredric named
Amy Laura Ray Shove (1868 - 1936)*
Looks like she died in 1936 and is buried next to Fredric.

I only show one daughter so far and she is attached to this memorial.

If you find more children feel free to send me a bio update so that I can update the memorial.

All the best,
Susan Barbara

Jackson Ross Barr.

THX for headstone photo.

I have been told by a very distant / 4 generations removed that this headstone is in KANSAS.

Can you verify for me what state, county, city you took that photo. In case I need to correct his page.
This is my Mom's grandpa.

Respectfully, Virginia

Thanks Pam for the info you left about Dora Ramsby in the Canyon City Cemetery. I have always wondered who the little girl in the middle of my Duncan's was. It was great to get my answer.
Blessings,
Lynn

Hi Pam
Just a quick note to let you know that the Carrie Duncan in the Canyon City cem. is the sister of Harriet Shaw Duncan a couple rows over in the Duncan plot. She is the daughter of Elizabeth Spaulding Shaw in the Burns Cem. and of Parley Shaw in the Sheffler Cem. in Kankankee, Illinois.
Thanks for all you do!
Lynn

Marjorie May Lent~
Pam, just wondering if U had recently made a photo request for the child above? She is buried at Zion Memorial Park in Canby. OR. There is an existing pic but I took more today.
I have posted pix of her marker which is beside her infant brother.
But in looking at the burial list it is confusing as it gives 2 separate burials.
1~Lent, Norman F. + Baby: Old Sect/Block 7/Row 58-2 (Baby).
2~Lent, Norman Freddie: Old Sect/Block 7/Row 58.
I plan to talk w. the person in charge of cemetery records to get her take; there are no more comments following to show age, etc for Norman Freddie which his marker clearly shows this name.

It gets more interesting....apparently in May 1900 the murderers escaped:

Even better article of the situation:

I found a small write up about his murderers in the Heppner gazette on the Oregon historic newspaper website if you wanted to add that info to his memorial. Appears they passed through Heppner (6-14-1900) and of the actual murder in the Astorian: http://oregonnews.uoregon.edu/lccn/sn85042400/1900-03-23/ed-1/seq-1/#index=1&rows=20&words=Eagleton+Thomas&sequence=0&proxtext=thomas%2Beagleton&y=0&x=0&dateFilterType=range&page=1

Hello Pam,
I am the secretary for Fern Prairie Cemetery. Thanks for you information on Herbert Swarthout. My question is how do you know he is buried in Fern Prairie. I don't doubt you at all. I just need to know where you got this information so I can add him to our records. Any help you can give us will certainly be appreciated. Thank you. Eileen Abernathy, Secretary
