deleting your memorials

I have come across your "bio" by a roundabout way, not at all needing to contact you for any of your memorials. After reading that you deleted over 2,000 memorials I really felt the need to send a message. For all I know, you may not be reading your messages any more, but this may help any others who may read this. As a genealogist, it makes me sad to see anyone delete info that they worked hard on, and info that may benefit others. Weren't you aware that you could contact Find A Grave administration and ask them to take over the management of your memorials? That's always an option when someone can't/doesn't want to continue with Find A Grave. I understand that your time is limited and it was becoming too intense to continue. I'm sure your memorials were appreciated by all who saw them. Maybe some time in the future you could start again, when you have more time.

Photos not "stolen"
You are incorrect on the ownership of the cemetery photos. I personally took the photos with my own camera at the cemetery on March 17, 2006.

Please be advised there are other "originals" of many of the family photos you possess which are owned by other Hopper descendants -- snapshots as well as portraits. I have seen them myself in other's collections in Minnesota, South Dakota, Washington, and Iowa.

There are TWO photographs which were lent to me by Mae over five years ago, so that I could make copies with her permission (Ida and Minnie's which I did post on their memorials). Are those the ones you are concerned about? I have used no others of to my knowledge.

I am sorry you decided to delete your original "one-of-a-kind memorials" rather than just the duplicates.

Penny please transfer all the Hopper sites I am a relative of the Hoppers. I am recieving information from the below note

[Send Reply] Hopper etc duplicates at Pleasant Ridge
Sheryl -- I don't own the memorials that are duplicated... other people do. Please check the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery page for what I am speaking of.

I know they are all YOUR relatives, and I do believe YOU should retain yours; and you also have the best information given on the folks, of course. Thelma Dorsey and Penni Campbell made quite a few however, and some are prior to yours. I sent them the same message as you. I hoped maybe you could "send them a correction" asking them to delete their duplicates.

It is just a mess -- I was trying to let everyone know who isn't monitoring their memorials that it needs to be addressed.

Thanks for all your help, and don't be offended, I just want to "clean up the cemetery" so my links are going to the right folks.

Also, do you know how the cemetery got the location information "Cedar Rapids"? That is pretty inaccurate. I noticed a while back somehow it got changed to that. Hmmmm.

Ida Anderson Clarke
I visited the Elida Cemetery today to get photos.
I have posted an Ida C. Hopper on this memorial.
There are 2 memorials for her. One is this one and the other one is just Ida C. Hopper. Both have same birth and burial dates. I will post the photo to both and if this is incorrect, please let me know so I can remove the correct one.

RE: Julie Bailey
Penni, Yes it is very sad that things like that happen. I will never forget the day I got the call from her mom. Julia was one person I never in a million years would have thought that would happen too. At her service her neice (we call her Pud) asked me if I would be her best Auntie now. I thought I was going to lose it.
I am trying to see if I added the pic's of her grave. If not I will add them.
Take care,

Glad I could help... I took more cemetery photos that same day of other stones, and I'm not really sure if I have anything else that might help you.. but check Find A Grave every so often as I'm starting to enter in the other burials I did that same day.. I hope to return to the same cemetery in the near future and do more photographing....

Hi Penni,

I was wondering if you would transfer Ernest Summers memorial # 29278132 to Me. He was my Great Grandmothers brother. Until I came across the memorial I did not know that Earnest existed.

Edith Hopper Bennett
Hi Penni,
I found a headstone for Edith in the cremation section at Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Kelso, Washington today. I remembered the name from when I took a picture for her husband at Longview Memorial Gardens so I took pictures and have already added them to her page. I don't know if her cremains are buried there but she has a headstone there.

Burgess C. Hopper
Hi Penni -- I fulfilled your request for a photo of Bert Hopper's grave. It's one I took in 2006. Find A Grave Memorial #21182670.

You still have his name misspelled on his memorial page. Could you please change it to "BURGESS (BERT) C. HOPPER".

Thank you! DiAnn (Member #47175115)
