C.D. Prescott
Thanks for the info on C.D. If you wish, I can transfer management of his memorial to you. He is more closely related to your husband than to me, and it would allow you to make changes more easily.

Just go to the memorials and ask for the transfers as findagrave will then send the request with the links to the memorials.

Nannie (Nancy Jane) Athison Ashcraft picture
Hi, I'm hoping you have the family picture that is posted on Nannie Atchison Ashcraft & Joseph Howard Ashcraft's family site at - Find A Grave Memorial # 14198467. There are 7 children in the portrait and only 6 names are listed. I believe Martin Ashcraft (oldest of the children / born abt. 1921) is the missing name and I am wondering if you know which one Martin is and if you could please add Martin's name to the picture?

Thank you,
Jean Lewis

Callie Welch
I'm hoping you can shed light on a genealogy connection for me. I'm told that Maxie Callie Lester b 1904 in Huntington, Texas md Henry Bye Welch. Callie was said to be the daughter of Robert Joshua Lester and Hester Anne Whitaker. Robert was b in Lawenceville, GA and md Hester Ann 1874 in Nacogdoches, Texas. I'm having trouble with the Maxie Callie Lester connection and the Henry Bye Welch connection.

Thank you for any help.

RE: Youngs in Carmi, Illinois
Oh my goodness your reply was fast. So I didn't see it until now. Thank you for checking for me but, do to the dates I have uncovered myself they couldn't possibly be a match. I also believe this Joseph is related to the Young's in Carmi I just cant figure it out. This so far has been our craziest relative to uncover any really good information on. The following information is all I have and I appreciate you greatly for looking up what you have.

Joseph Young married Nancy Hodkins on 10/26/1851 at age 23 in White County, Illinois. Per his age at this marriage he would have been born in @ 1828. I am unsure what happened to Nancy. Dont know if she died or they divorced.

The same Joseph Young then married Margaret Hodkins on 10/18/1855. It appears that Margaret's husband James Hodkins was a brother or cousin to Nancy. Margarets maiden name was Driggers.

Margaret and Joseph had a daughter named Josephine Young in September of 1856 and Joseph died on 10/04/1856 at the age of 28 per White County Records.

I also have Josephine Young McGowan's obituary where within it it states that her father was Joseph Young and mother was Margaret Drigger's Young.

It seems so sad that I can not locate any further information on him or even where he is buried. Even sadder is the fact that all of his most important life events all occurred in October for him from birth to death.

Anyways, I really appreciate your time and effort checking for me. I just really want to solve this crazy family mystery.

Thanks again,

RE: Youngs in Carmi, Illinois

I did some more research and have up dated information on Joseph Young. He actually died in October of 1856, one month after his daughter Josephine was born. He was married to Margaret "Driggers" Young at the time. He was also previously married to a Nancy Hodkins. I am hoping with this new information you could check and see if he was a relative of yours. All three lived in Carmi, Illinois. There is American Indian heritage in my husbands family history and I was wondering if it coming from the Young or the Driggers side of the family. Fingers crossed as usual. Thanks for any further information you may be able to locate within your family with this new death date for Joseph Young.

Evelena Wilkinson ( #10064243)sp. of Jacques Noguess. Let me know if you would like a copy.

Peggy Noguess was married to your uncle Harrison.
She was my daddy's aunt. Would you happen to have any pictures of her when they were young?
Thank you. Pam Smith

Daniel Colvin

I see that you have a photo of Daniel Colvin's gravesite on Find A Grave and you are a descendant.

He was my 5th Great Grandfather.

I am curious about the cemetery in which he is buried.

I have been searching for my 3rd Great Grandmother, Nannie Baptist Wharton Robertson.

According to the US GenWeb Archives:

Along with Daniel and a host of others, my grandmother is buried there in a grave that is uninscribed.

Could you tell me more about this cemetery?

Is it accessible to the public?

Do you live in the Culpeper, VA area?

Could you give me some advice on accessing this cemetery?

Thank you so much for what you are contributing!

Michelle, you have Clifton Naul entered twice in your database. You might want to delete one. I remember working with you a good while back now. I am related to the Naul family. Not too many Naul researchers. Somewhere back there your husband and I have common ancestors. Kerry
