Silver Island Cemetery updates
Are you going to do updates on the Silver Island Cemetery memorials or do I need to make duplicate memorials? Please advise! There are some upset ladies here who want THEIR families' memorials updated along with others in the Silver Island Cemetery. They've given me piles of obits, death & birth dates and family links. I've been patiently waiting on you since November 2013 but it appears that you're not interested in updating or transferring.

If I don't hear back from you by March 1, 2014, I'll remove my photos from your memorials and create duplicates with the information that has been provided to me, as that seems to be the only viable alternative if you're not going to do anything.

Memorial Updates at Silver Island Cemetery
Could you please do the updates Mr Nixon is sending to you? There are four of us old ladies working diligently on the lines out of the Silver Island Cemetery and we'd like to get these folks linked to their ancestors & descendants as well as provide additional information on the memorials. At 71, I'm the youngest and we'd like to have these memorials updated before we ARE memorials. If you'd rather not deal with it, then please transfer the memorials to Mr Nixon or anyone else who lives here. I can give you several names of folks up here who will take good care of the memorials and do the updates quickly. Thank You.
PS- Mr Nixon is sending you updates as we request them. He was elected to do this as he's much more computer savvy than us old hens.

Hello & Concrete Cemetery
Hi there. I see you are slightly active again! Glad to see that.

I am having to email folks constantly about Concrete Cemetery not being in Wilson County. I see you placed a message on a new poster's page about dupes. I just had to use the Suggest A Correction button for the same poster about Concrete Cemetery. I can't seem to get the bogus one removed from the Wilson County listings, so have to do this periodically.

Hope you are having a great day!! Sunny tomorrow. Maybe I'll try to get more done around my area. I seem to have several photo requests at the cemetery closest to my house, but have never stopped in there. Maybe tomorrow!

Keep in touch!

Aaron
Hi Joni,
Aaron's shop, Great Styles by Us, used to be located in the old Das Mall building on S. Jackson st. Three or Fours years ago, the roof caved in on that building, leaving him and several other people without a place of business. Anyway, he built a cute little barber shop on his own property. Now he only needs to step outside his home to go to work.

Wann
Hi Joni,
I transferred the Wann memorials for you. I really enjoyed seeing the pictures you added of the Wann family. Is Floyd's son Aaron a barber? If so, he cuts my husbands hair and my sons hair. He actually gave my son his first haircut 20 years ago!

That paper memorial you posted is one I made myself a year and a half ago (I've lived in Alaska the past year). Thanks again

Maria Russell
Concrete Cem,
Hi Joni,
Thanks for the reply. I thought that there might be a headstone for my gg/mother husband's. His name was Gabriel Becerra. But another Findagrave volunteer could not find it.
So, apparently he does not have one. Do you live in that area?
Thanks, Maria

James Ollie Mahan
Would you mind adding the following to the memorial of James Ollie Mahan.

This is so we can link him to his parents,

FATHER: Joseph Matthew Mahan

MOTHER: Dorothy Carolina Jarratt

Also if you click edit memorial, you can add his birth and death places which are both Leesville, Gonzales Co., TX.

I am looking for his obituary so I can add it as well.

If he is not your family, perhaps you could turn his memorial to me and I will make the changes.

Either way, I apreciate your listing. I've been working on this line for a while.

Sincerely,

Star Rhodes.

Additional Capuano Information
Hi Joni,

I found my Uncle Mike's information and saw that his birthdate was missing. My Uncle's birthdate was September 7, 1930. Other additional information that I have for the same cemetary our my grandparents Joseph Capuano born June 16, 1906 and died March 26, 1975; and Margaret Capuano born September 2, 1905 and died October 30, 1995. I am currently looking for pictures to provide with their information. I'm looking to you for your help and guidance.

Karolin Leichtweisz
Hmmmm......
Out of the 5 requests I gave them, they found 1 had been sent somewhere else, 2 were returned for family to bury at sea, and 2 were no record found. The other NRF was a military casaulty of WWII with detailed records from them on where the remains went...it's possible she ran out of steam after the first three! But I'll try again tomorrow and see if I get any different answer. Will let you know what I find out....

Karolin Leichtweisz photo request
Interesting! I can try again, and let my contact know what the DC says, and have her check under the other name as well.....They are not operating at the moment and doing renovations, so maybe some of the records aren't as well organized as they should be 9and they take a looooong time to respond). I'll specifically reference the DC and see what she says....is the last name on the DC Leichtweisz, or something else? Thanks for the additional info!

Karolin Leichtweisz photo request
I contacted Chapel of the Pines regarding the burial location for Karolin Leichtweisz, since I was going to be in the area next week. They finally (!) got back to me and said they have no record of him being there -- either as interred, or cremated and sent somewhere else. Do you have a copy of the Death Certificate that confirms he was there? If not, perhaps someone could check at the Los Angeles County Recorder's office? Let me know if there's anything else I can do.....
