Barry Jernigan
Hello
Hello cousin. Hope you are doing well and doing well in your research. One of these days I hope to get down to Bham and do some hands on. Let me know if there are any brick walls you want me to be watching for. Bham Public Library will probably be my first stop. Still have no proof of parents of Joe Lindsay. Have you found that? Take care.

Do you by any chance live in north Missouri? I've been looking for some help on cleaning up the Gooch Cemetery where Gideon and Nancy are buried. Probably in November.

Hi Joel

William Haden Duncan (my mother's father)
Mildred Gooch Duncan (my grandfather's mother)
Gideon Gooch Jr. (my great grandmother's father)
Gideon Gooch Sr. (my great grandmother's grandfather) Gideon Sr. is the one buried in Gooch Cemetery in Chariton County. We don't know where Gideon Gooch Jr. is but we believe he is buried in California where he went during the Gold Rush.

So we could be related somewhere along the way. Gideon and Nancy Leavell Gooch in the Gooch Cemetery in Chariton County are my g-g-g-grandparents.

Thanks. I will probably have more as I get the Chariton and Randolph County Gooch families all sorted out. I've been working on them for a while and it is slow going. They are all related to me and I'm trying to figure out just how.

Feake
Hello I see you want photos of any Feake gravestones. Are you sure there are any buried here as I have access to the burial records and it is not a surname I'm familiar with. Can you be more specific?

Cheers, Lynn

Sarah Yarham
Hello,

I noticed you requested a photo of Sarah Yarham's grave - there is already one there. I uploaded it. Its a difficult churchyard to photograph because much of the time there are sheep grazing in there!

Cheers, Lynn

RE: Duplicates Roanoke City Cemetery
Thanks, Joe. If any of my remaining memorials are your relations, I'll be glad to transfer them. I believe there were a couple more Gooch stones than those you already had.
You have a blessed Christmas, too.
Thanks,
Nancy

Gooch duplicates in Roanoke
Hi Joel,
I unintentionally added some duplicates in Roanoke Cemetery when I submitted a spreadsheet of the entire cemetery. I was contacted by a very upset contributor who was under the impression I was "targeting" his memorials, but he also named several of your Gooch memorials that I duplicated. Usually most duplicates get filtered out when a spreadsheet is added, but many got through. I just wanted to apologize if I've offended you, and let you know that I have deleted all I found. If I missed any, please just let me know.
Thanks,
Nancy

RE: Kinfolk
Hi Joel:

Nice to make your acquaintance. Have you found very far back on your Lindseys? Is Lyn Moore your mother? She found a lot of what I have on most of my line from my great-grandmother Ella Mae Lindsey on back. I think she found Joseph Lindsey and Nancy Jane Carlisle. I've been wondering where our Lindseys originally come from. Seems like several of those related families came to AL from Marlboro Co, SC. I have 8 books on order right now from Southern Historical Press and one of them concerns records in Marlboro Co, SC. I keep looking in my po box hoping to see one of those locker keys. ;-) So far no key for the past 2 weeks. Maybe this week the books will arrive. If you want to check out my family tree, "Jernigan/Valerio" at Ancestry.com you can see most of what I've already found. I have census pages linked to most of it as well as well as some other records if I've found them. Talk at ya later

You and I are related and I have some memorials as well on my page. My line is from my great-grandmother, Ella Mae Lindsay Jernigan to my great-great grandmother, Margaret Ada Trucks Lindsay to my great-great-great grandfather, Francis Marion Trucks (mortally wounded at the Battle of Sharpsburg, Maryland). Recent DNA test results prove my direct paternal ancestor was John Chandler, emigrant in 1610 to Virginia. How we got from Chandler to Jernigan is the biggest mystery. Hawkins lived next door to Chandlers in Chalkville and I think there might be some connection there but I need to do more research. One of these days I'll get down to Jefferson County and hopefully figure it all out.

RE: Jonah Moore
Yes would be happy to transfer to you. I had only one or two distant relatives here and asked for links. Seems the site was put on by The Lost Parks from death cerificates or something and they hoped someone would adopt it.....didn't happen. When I contacted was told they were going to delete the whole cem......so I took it! Would be a shame to lose it all. Some was turned over to family members of ones buried here......I took the rest. So any you would like belong to you just let me know :)
