Gilmore
Carol - I checked all the sources I know about and did not find anything of the missing Francis Asberry Gilmore. Did find Emma's burial in Cunningham Cem. in Silsbee - as we work other cemeteries in and around Kirbybville, will keep an eye open for him. Sorry. Sandra

Francis Asberry
Carol - I am confused about the last name for you ancestor. Is it Asberry or Gilmore? The obits that I am transcribing are from 1986 - 1998 and must have a Buna Texas connection as the obits were placed in the Buna Beacon. Send more info about Francis - parents names will help and I can search some sites for you.

We are Mayflower descendants
Hi Carol,
Yes, you only have to prove your ancestors back to Madison Cole now. You need birth, marriage and death certificates if they can be found. If not send anything else you can find that shows your line. Give them my approval General #81,462,&
Hopkins supplemental #1860.

Let me know how it goes!

Found John H. Barker & Nancy
Carolyn, we decided to take a trip back to Vandergriff cemetery after noting cemetery listings (2) online that their stones were broken. Someone had cleaned up the cemetery after our last visit and we located both stones. We remember looking in this area but are thinking they were probably turned over, not sure. Nancy's stone was broken some at bottom and we could not view death dates on either but at least we did get photos of both stones. Really glad we went back to search again.

Barkers - VANDERGRIFF CEMETERY
Just returned from taking photos of all BARKER gravestones in the Vandergiff Cemetery. We did not locate C239 and C240 for John H. Barker and Nancy Easterly Barker I'm sorry to say. I notice a Mr. Cox is going back to get this information for you. I did just Email you the photos taken. Sorry but we walked the cemetery twice looking for John and Nancy and did not locate, possibly Mr. Cox can be more successful. Jan Vaughn

RE: George Washington Nett III
Hello Carol...I have added the family links and corrected the spelling in the obit, as you requested. I noticed that you said he was your uncle. If you would like a transfer, please let me know. I am always happy to transfer a memorial to a relative's care. Please let me know and it will be done. Thanks!!

Tim Hardwick
Jeremiah Swing
Sorry Carol, the actual cemetery, Swing Family Cemetery, has not been located, but is believed to be in a certain area on this farm. The area is currently the garden of the owner who has lived in the home for 56 years and when he bought the property, the cemetery had already been destroyed. He has Jeremiah's marker leaning against a tree on his property and he said there was one other marker somewhere around his barn, but there was no lettering on it. I stopped at this house by chance and got lucky. He has taken great care of the marker and wants it to remain there. It is believed there were 9 graves in this cemetery, but who they are is not known. Tim

David Cox
RE: John & Nancy Barker-Vandergriff Cem.
Looking through my files the only Barker headstone I have is of Joel and Lucretia Barker. He was born Nov 6, 1841 and died Apr 5, 1918. Her maiden name was Vandergriff and she was born Apr 15, 1844 and died in 1924.

I'll try and get up there in the next week or so and get you a couple of photos for John and Nancy.

I thank you for the effort of trying to locate this burial.
I was just informed via email that his grave is located at Section D / Row 13.5 / Space 11.
Supposedly buried with 5 other Humble family members. Since I live a distance away I am not able to verify this information.
If perhaps when you have spare time you would check it out, it would be muchly appreciated.

RE: George & Rebecca Peeler (Earthman Resthaven)
your welcome, I transferred the 2 entries to you after adding death cert info, connecting the 2 entries to each other and adding gravestone pictures. This is a cemetery near my work and I have taken it on as a "project" of sorts.....doing it section by section....huge cemetery though, likely will be on it for years to come.

Hi Carol, Check out the new photos just added to our relatives memorials. A Find a Grave volunteer, Tim Hardwick went to Coles's Chapel Cemetery to look for these gravestones for me. He posted some great pictures! He then went to private property in Ripley Co, Indiana and found the gravestone of our ancestor Jeramiah Swing, father of Sarah Jane Swing Cole.
