RE: Clydene Schuerer
Thank you so much, Becky!! Yes, the auction you went to was at her uncle's place west of town -- Harold Egnew, brother of her father. My mom was there. I think that Clydene was there, too. Not positive, but pretty sure. The house is 1211 W. Moore in Henryetta. Used to be just down the street from the school. We've ALL spent many happy times there. I will accept your friend request ASAP. I don't know of anyone in the Okmulgee Cemetery to look for. I always think how pretty it is when we drive by. Most of ours are in Westlawn in Henryetta and some in Okemah and Hanna. I have mine on Billion Graves but I'm making the switch to Find a Grave. I wonder if you knew my mother -- Clydene's younger sister. Her name was Wanda but everyone in the family called her Snib. I don't know why. I think I would have protested. :)

RE: Clydene Schuerer
I just read your home page. You do photos at the Okmulgee Cemetery? Surely, then, Clydene was your babysitter when she lived in Henryetta. I still own my great-grandparents house -- where Mom and Clydene spent so much time as children, and then their children did the same. You must have seen the obituary in The Henryettan online. So glad I suggested that they run it there!!

RE: Clydene Schuerer
Rebecca, no, she wasn't my grandmother. She was my aunt -- my mother's only sister -- and more like a second mother to me. I lost my mother 6 years ago and she did all she could to try to fill that loss. I typically called and talked to her once or twice a week. I will be leaving for Missouri, and for her funeral, tomorrow. I already miss her more than words could ever express. I am the "family genealogist," and I would LOVE to manage her page. Thank you so much for the offer, and for the kind words!!

I will be in Sedan and at Greenwood Cemetery next month and wanted to get in touch with you.

I am planning to take a photo of his headstone, but don't want to claim it yet.

What I like to do is take the picture and send it to the person that requested it (as an email). My computer and the person's computer don't always communicate with each other. This means, sometimes the picture is correct on "Find A Grave" when I see it, but the picture can be sideways in view of the person who requested it (I have talked to photographers and computer experts).

You can post it on the website and do any changes you like. I don't want the credit.

Let me know if that will work. I will "claim and fulfill" closer to the date, I will be there and after I take the picture.

RE: Martha Ann Hold
Funny!!!! In one census Hold was listed as black and a servant then as husband in the next. E mail me so we don't have to go through Find A Grave because I might have info you would like to see. Mine is listed.

PFC Jack Trader
I am a member of American Legion Post 1 here in Tulsa. One of our members (and a friend of mine) is Bill Woodward, who served with Jack Trader in Korea and was wounded in the same firefight in which PFC Trader was killed. He happened to speak of this tonight our meeting, expressing an interest in visiting Jack's grave. In researching it on Find-a-Grave I noticed your memorial for his widow Dolores' grave. Was her daughter, Jackie, PFC Trader's daughter? If so, would she be interested in speaking with Bill? He has some stories to tell about Jack Trader which any of his family members might find interesting, and I know he would gladly share them with anyone who wants to listen. He won't be with us forever, and when these veterans pass, their stories die with them. Bill's not into the Internet stuff, so I am helping him out. Please contact me at my email,

Harold Brown

RE: Martha Ann Hold
Happy to transfer to you. Martha was my 3rd great aunt. I thought I had found the Indian that was supposed to be in mom's family through Martha in the census but no way. LOL She is listed as 1/2 but her sons are too but Holley was not NA. We thought her sister Rachel was because of pictures but no proof or disproof. I had Aunt Nora, at 96 years old do the DNA and there was NO NA so the Indian is a mith. Rachel was Aunt Noras GGM.

Fannie Goodow Mallery
Fannie is also MY 3-great grandmother! I descend from their son Jason Tauser Mallery who was married to Eleanor Hubbard. I have been trying to break down a brick wall for about 3 years regarding Fannie's husband, Lorenzo Dow Mallery -- looking for a birth record or some link to either of his parents (Culver Mallery & Rhoda Pettibone) so that I can proceed with a DAR application. By chance would you have any record with that information? Thank you!

LEFEBVRE Cécile X DOCK Jean Joseph
Good evening,
Small cuckoo of France, or jeans Luc managed me towards Find has grave. I work on my genealogy since 2012. The mom of Lefebvre Cécile (HAUBRY Eléonore) was the sister of my ancestor.
For Cécile Lefebvre married on 31/05/1871 with Dock Jean joseph, I found the track of 4 children:
Joséphine been born on 6/10/1870 Small Forest
Jean Joseph been born on 13/06/1875 Ferfay
Henri been born on 28/10/1877 Ferfay
On the other hand on your index cards(forms) you mention Katherine but I ignore or she was born?
Somebody would have precision, and po can you tell me why there are errors on the births!!!
Good evening and friendships of a French cousin

Rosemary Schallhorn (Caumiant)
Hello Rebecca,

You must be the relative that my Grandma Rosemary mentioned on so many occasions. She liked to talk about her European ancestry but unfortunately left us before I was able to make records. I've had an interest in compiling a family tree for some time and have finally got a good start and while digging around I found your post on this site. Your profile mentions that you have been working in this area since 1984 and I can't imagine all of the resources you might have and the time you've spent. So, I'm wondering:
1. I know about this site,, and public record searches, but are there any other major resources (tools for the belt) you'd recommend?
2. Would/could you share any information on Grandma's ancestors?
3. Do you have a webpage for your work (website, facebook, etc)?

Please drop me a line sometime.

RE: Hawkens
Hi Rebecca.
My husband and I live near Reno, NV for the time being but are planning a move to Pratt, KS sometime in the very near future. Probably within the next few months. Our house here will be going on the market within the next month or so.
I would love to be on your FB site. I am on FB as Fonda Pusatero.
As for the reunion, I'm not sure we'll be moved by then but if we are, I'd love to be there for it. If you could send me a flyer, I'd appreciate it and will share the info with my Thomas side of the family. There will be a Thomas reunion June 3, 4 & 5 in Las Vegas, too. Don't know where we'll be in June, like I said but I'll try to attend both if I can.
Do you have a Hawken website I can go to. I have quite a bit of information on her as she is my great grandmother on Mom's side. My mom, Evelyn Thomas McConnell is the daughter of Myrtle Booze Thomas and was the last of her generation. She passed away on 15 Jan 2015 at the age of 93.

RE: Fidele Lefebvre
Hi Rebecca
I received your emails. I also received a Email from Jean-Luc from France. I do not believe we are related, but maybe I am wrong. But I do not think we have the same Cecile Lefebvre - Sauvage.
I do not have Dock in my line and Her parents names you gave are not the same as I have, and the date of her Birth and Place are different than mine. Still would love to chat to make sure !!
Thanks Melissa Bolton.

Jean-Luc Coubronne

I have just sent you my additions and corrections about Joseph DOCK and Cécile LEFEBVRE. I can say that the markers do not correspond at all to the accurate dates of birth. They have probably been added many years after their deaths.

If you like, I can send you a PDF file of the family (births and marriages in Belgium and in France). You can find my e-mail easily : I am among your "friends" on Find A Grave.

RE: Samuel and MattieGrimes Gallimore
Rumor is we were distantly related, or the family's knew each other in Virginia, when her sister was murdered our family was deeply affected as they lived close by. But the whole area was traumatized as news paper accounts said hundreds were at the mob hanging and funeral. Grand Father who went to the same 1 room country school was traumatized also.I can not imagine how the young siblings were affected. I have researched this story a great deal and have been interested in it for some time as it all took place just over the hill from were I was born and raised. Jarrott

Is Nancy Hold Speake Related?
Hi Rebecca,

I've been trying to link my second great-grandmother, Nancy Hold Speake to her parents.

Do you know if Wilson and Hester Ann Hold had an older daughter named Nancy born in 1826? I can't find them anywhere before the 1850 census to place them.

My grandmother Nancy Hold was married in 1847 to Jeptha Speake in Hamilton County, Indiana and was born in Ohio. She is buried in Robbins Cemetary in Coffeyville, Kansas with her son, John W. Speake.

Wilson and Hesteran are about the only Hold (or Holt etc) family anywhere in any census in 1850 and thereabouts in Indiana.

Thank you

Rob Johnson
