RE: RE; Donald Mckinnon
Hi Ellen
I was back to Coningsby Cemetery and took the correct picture of Donald's grave. It is a flat stone and unfortunately very hard to read as you can see by the picture. But he is there beside his wife. I put a picture of their stones together on her site

RE: Re: Donald McKinnon Tombstone
My appologies. I took the picture off the site when I realized I had the wrong Donald McKinnon. The dates were wrong. I will get back and look for the correct stone as soon as I can.

Entered more McKinnon's tonight. I need to go out again and find the one's that do not have pictures; must have missed them.

One of the pleasures of doing findagrave is finding kin folk.

RE: Alice McKinnon
I was in Rosedale Cemetery (8 miles out of the Soo) and came upon stones for more McKinnons: Mary Catherin Anderson (Mother) 1844-1915; Neil McKinnon (Father) 1845-1924; Willie, Sada (1900-1924; John A. (1881-1887; & Twins (? and Moran (1883).

If they also had a son Neil, I think I knew them as well. Neil (it would be Jr) had a farm on 6 mile Road and I used to play with them when I went out there to play with another friend of mine. I think Neil Jr's wife's name was also Annie. It seems they had a couple boys and must have had at least one girl. I'm working on posting those pictures now and over the next few days, so you can decide if they were related to your branch.

Still trying to think of how to come up with more pictures. I know Bud's daughter (Diane) and she lives here also, so maybe I can put the two of you in touch. Happy hunting! :-)

RE: Alice McKinnon
Don't think I can find any pictures of the Nelson's or McKinnon's. We had a flood and they were all ruined. My sister may have some of Beverly tho. The PRESLAN's were in my life too even tho they were older. They lived on the next street over (Arlington Street) and HOWARD used to take me and Bev for a ride on his BIG motorcycle...we must have been about 8 at that time and he always made us feel so special. MERLIN was still around until he passed a few years ago (he was very quiet); I worked at the hospital for a few years with HOWARD's wife Shirley. He ran a shoe repair out of his home. MERLIN's daughter was a good friend of my daughter in school. Your great aunt (?) SHIRLEY Preslan had a beauty shop in her home and married later in life & I always liked her. Those 3 siblings are all deceased now.

RE: Alice McKinnon
Oh my goodness, yes. I spent half of my youth in their house. Richard was a quiet, big man who worked at the railroad (in the office). Nellie was kind of prim and proper, sort of a large lady also. I remember her for her big black tie shoes with thick heels. She was nice but I don't remember her as being very warm. Their son Carl moved to St. Ignace and he worked for the RR also; Weldon (ALWAYS called Bud) stay in the Soo; very handsome and I always had a crush on him; he was a policeman as was his Uncle Loren McKinnon. Alice suffered from (we were always told) rickets; had a dwarf appearance. She worked as a secretary in the Malcolm Elementary School. Beverly (my friend) was a "later" baby; she married a man from Kincheloe Air Force Base (about 20 miles from the Soo) and moved away to Ill. We gradually lost contact. I think she had 3 sons.

Sorry, I keep pushing the wrong button. I am going to the cemetery and was looking at the names of people interred there. It led me to your gg grandmother Alice McKinnon. I don't know if you ever met her or not, but she was my next door neighbor for 18 years. I moved next to her when I was 1 year old, and left when I married at 19 years in 1956. I spent so much time with her in her little "apartment" attached to Richard & Elinors house. Their daughter Beverly was my best friend all those years. Alice was a little sweet grandmotherly type who seemed ancient to me with her white hair up in a bun and her house dress and apron always on, with cookies to welcome us. This brought back many wonderful memories to me. Will try to find her and submit a picture of their stone.

RE: Seldonet Suverly
I understand how long it takes to research information. Seldonet is my great grand uncle though. You still created the memorial, it would simply get transferred into my further care, per the "Family First" Find A Grave guideline.
Hope you change your mind. Thanks again for creating this memorial, Ellen.

Here is how I am related:

Seldonet "Seldon" Andrew Suverly (1852 - 1926)
is your great grand uncle

John Andrew Suverly Sr (1828 - 1906)
father of Seldonet "Seldon" Andrew Suverly

Sherman Silas "Shaney" "Sherm" Suverly (twin) (1867 - 1935)
son of John Andrew Suverly Sr

Harriet Jane "Hattie" Schultz (Suverly Lee) (1896 - 1950)
daughter of Sherman Silas "Shaney" "Sherm" Suverly (twin)

Judith "Judy" Arlene Stein (Schultz) (1939 - )
daughter of Harriet Jane "Hattie" Schultz (Suverly Lee)

Deborah "Debbie" Marie
You are the daughter of Judith "Judy" Arlene Stein (Schultz)

RE: Ellen and Seldonet Suverly

I hope you don't mind . I really don't want to transfer!! It took me a long time to find the info on them.

RE: Ellen and Seldonet Suverly
Thanks for the obits, Ellen! I may have them in very high stacks of memorabilia I have yet to sort through. Good job in sourcing them! I see that you are related to the Piles, so therefore, could you please transfer Ellen Pile's husband, my great grand uncle, Seldonet "Seldon" Andrew Suverly to me at 47879315? You can view my Suverly virtual cemetery on my profile page. Hope you are enjoying your day!~

RE: Ellen and Seldonet Suverly
