Henry Lawson, Sparta
I could find no Henry Lawson in Section 7, Row 10 nor did I find his name in their records. I am attempting to contact the new caretaker to see if he can find his name.

I checked the Noble County Library and found a obit for Nora Lawson which did mention her husband I. H. Lawson. I also found an article about a Katherine Lawson who was blind but did a lot of knitting for the troops but I found nothing on your request. Barb

RE: Helen w. Lawson woodville cemetery
Hi Connie,
I happened to take the photo of Helen Lawson's headstone while at the cemetery photographing another one for a Find-a-Grave request. I often take pictures of headstones around the one I've been requested to take. I don't really know anything about Helen W Lawson. I did look her up in the Woodville Cemetery Index online and the only additional piece of information was the entry in the "Relationship" column. It says, "A friend of the Houston-Richards family). I don't know where that tidbit will lead you, but...
The Woodville Cemetery is also called the "White Church Primitive Baptist Church." The cemetery is also called the White Church Cemetery. The cemetery manager (according to the index website) is Angela Cassidy. Her email address is I don't know how old this information is on the website, but it is worth a try.

I tried to find an obituary online but could find nothing.

If I stumble across anything else I'll pass it along to you.
Good luck!

Re: Emichael Risner
Connie, I have a site that I am going to send you a invite to.
There are pictures and other files here. Go down to the File section and open it up. There you will see a file on Michael Risner and his burial or marker. Open it up.
Robert "Bob" Whittaker posted it and he also has pictures in his story.

The marker shows a E instead of a C if you look real close. Michael also went by Emichael Risner.

I hope you enjoy the site.

RE: Backs/Bachs
Samuel and Valoria Richardson were my husbands great grandparents.....his grandmother Ada Roxie Richardson married Wesley Earl Wooley/Woolley who was born in Texas. "Pappaw" and his three children all worked for the Cotton Belt Railroad.I have no clue why Pappaw and Mammaw's families moved to TX or how they met. My husband passed in 1997 before I started genealogy. The only one left is his step mom who has dementia.I do have his aunts work from many years before . She had to do it the hard way.... :)
Glad to share anything I have that might be of interest.

RE: Catherine back vs Catherine day
I would suggest you contact the person who has Catherine Day Back' memorial on Find A Grave and let her know... then 2nd leave flowers for Catherine Day Back with a message her surname was Day not Back.

I believe the marriage record for John C Back and Catherine Day is correct. Everyone knows who they are when they get married, but after they are married they get use to using their married name....I could only find one Catherine Day, born about the time Catherine Day Back was born, so I do not know parents for Catherine Day Back.

Good Luck

RE: Catherine back vs Catherine day
Because on some of the birth records of children for John C & Catherine, parents names were listed as John & Catherine Back... and on a death certificate for one of their children parents listed were John & Catherine Back, as with many birth and death records the mother is listed under her married name... someone wrote a book on this Back family and listed Catherine as Catherine Back Back... when its written on paper then its written in stone, some people think

You will have to contact the person who has Catherine' memorial listed on Find A Grave. I can be of no help to you on this matter

RE: Herman Caudill family
Hi Connie,
I am not related however wondering about your inquiry. Does it concern a certain memorial that was created?
There are several Herman Caudills and if you would give me the memorial number it might help me narrow it down.

RE: Michael Lawson jr,
Upon viewing the grave picture, it appears the parents are still living. I don't know any other information. I began taking pictures of Sparta Cemetery because i have an Uncle, Aunt and 2 cousins buried there. I noticed it only was 37% photographed. I was able to get it over 97%. In the process I added a couple of hundred unrecorded memorials that I knew nothing about. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Fannie Whitaker married Carlo Feltner.

Fannie was daughter of Samuel and Judah Wilson Whitaker.

Samuel was the son of Squire and Harriett Whitaker.

My mother was a Hampton, daughter of Clyde and Betty Hibbard Hampton.

Clyde was son of William Matt and Fannie Garland Hampton.

RE: lawson's at Sparta cemetery
When you look up Sparta cemetery. There are some pictures that don't show unless you scroll down. I put a better map of the cemetery online. There are 9 sections and I have photographed all of them. So I'm pretty sure I got all of the Larsons. It was my summer project to get them from the 37% that was photographed. I was able to get them up to 97%.
