August Schweiger
I checked with the sexton at St John the Baptist Cemetery and there is no burial listed for August. The earliest burial for a Schweiger is 1891 for a Peter Schweiger. The sexton said I should check St Lawrence Cemetery for earlier burials. Johann 1796-1872 is buried there.

RE: Biography of Alva Boyer
His aunt opened the first library in Lewiston, and I'm thinking that it may be that one. Her library efforts eventually turned into the library system for all of Lewiston. Pretty cool!

It may take me a while to get there. I live an hour away from the city, and don't get there very often. And, I'm usually overloaded with other things that need to be done while I'm there. But, I'll get to it eventually!

RE: Biography of Alva Boyer
I would be happy to check at the library in Lewiston one of these days. I don't make it into the city very often, but I've wanted to see that library. It may be the one that my husband's aunt started. We're recent transplants to Idaho, so I still have a lot of things to see!

RE: Biography of Alva Boyer
Thanks for the nice compliment! I'm not often called an angel! Not sure that the name fits, but I appreciated it!

The bad thing about the Lewiston paper is that it doesn't appear to be included in the search engine. Many others are though, and one or more of the papers in Spokane sometimes picked up the news from Lewiston and Clarkston and reprinted it in their papers. I did a search for Margaret Boyer, and nothing showed up. Same for Everett, but you may have better luck.

RE: Biography of Alva Boyer
I just checked online, and the Lewiston paper from August 1918 isn't online. The closest I could find is Sept. 1, but there was nothing in that paper about Margaret. Here is a link to the newspaper archives, in case you want to take a look.

I don't have any connection to the family, but if I stumble across something, I'll let you know. I'm the coordinator of the Nez Perce Co. IDGenWeb site, which is why I'm working on the biographies to begin with.

I took a look at your memorials and now see your husband's connection, Elijah V. Cunningham. I have wondered what became of Elijah.
Thanks a million for posting his memorial!

RE: Head Stone of James Wear Cunningham
Sorry about the focus. I did not take the photo. It was sent to me.
The first line at the top: JW Cunningham

I'm not sure what it says at the bottom. I guess I should find out. Thanks for the reminder.
If you need any geneological info on the family, let me know. I would like to know how your husband connects to James.

A Marine's Daughter
RE: Linda R. Kendrick (Lizen)
I am not. I entered her from an obituary. I wonder if you could find a relative through that. That's great that you rescued those books.

I found a death notice and obituary for Margaret Boyer.

A Daughter Born
A daughter born to Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Boyer, Tuesday, August 27, 1918, died the same day.

Lewiston Morning Tribune
Firday, August 30, 1918

Funeral Was Held
The funeral of the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Boyer was held today from the Clarkston Undertaking company's parlors with Rev. H. A. Vicker of the Presbyterian church officiating.

Card of Thanks
Mrs. and Mrs. Lloyd Boyer and Mr. and Mrs. Sealoff and family wish to thank their kind friends for the help and kindness extended during the recent bereavement.

I have called the one and only funeral home in Asotin county and they do not have any funeral records for Margaret.
Hope this helps,

Everett Elvin Boyer
In the 1920 Census, I find Margaret Boyer's parents with only one child, Cleda, who was born in 1917. In the Washington Birth records, there is a Everett Elvin Boyer (female) but do not find Margaret's birth so I am thinking that the record for Everett is indeed Margaret and she did not have a twin brother.

Margaret Boyer

I found the section where Margaret was buried but found no headstone for her. There were quite a few children buried in the same section but only five or six flat headstones were found. It's possible that the others just sank into the ground after so many years. We looked for indents in the ground and found one that had sunk and cleared it so now it is visable. I wish I had been able to find the headstone for Margaret. One thought is contacting the funeral home that handled Margaret. They might tell us if there ever was a headstone. I will check into that and get back to you. I might even be able to see if an obituary was posted for her. I will do my best to find the answers.
