Marriage of James Mitchell and Eliza Bust
I am researching the family of James Mitchell, and you obviously have a lot of knowledge in this area. I have been through the Monroe County, MS Courthouse and have found no documentation of the marriage of James Mitchell and Eliza Bush, daughter of John Bush of that county. An article in the Aberdeen Examiner states Eliza Bush married a Mitchell, and the 1850 census shows James Mitchell married a woman named Eliza "within the year". They were both from Monroe County; it seems they would have been married there. Are you aware of any marriage records for that couple? My email address is molepusher@yahoo.com.
I looked for Jack Mitchell and Lelia Mitchell a few months ago at Pine Springs. I couldn't find them; however, there are base pads close to other Mitchell relations where the markers have been lost.
Thanks
Steve

Dexter O'Day
Hi Lola,
Dexter O'Day was my grandfather. I was hoping to find some more information about my family history, and I stumbled upon this website. I wanted to express my gratitude to you. To have pictures of my relatives on my grandfathers side, is a void filler. I admired my grandfather. Before he passed, he had a partner named Annie. If there is anyone out there that knew, or knows how to contact Annie, I would be extremely grateful. I think she may be able to help me gain more closure. Thank you again.

If this site won't let you do what you want to do with our Unknown transfer it back to me and I will see what I can do. I think the picture should stay.

I just deleted my "Unknown". If you want to tell the story of the marker it probably should be told. It is near where the front gate used to be in the old Phillips part of the old cemetery.

I am not claiming this find, but I have found two Singleton project markers near Maud New Brinkley. I believe there is a connection with the families.

Hi Lola,

I have a location for Nettie's grave. Unfortunately she has no marker. I'll still plan on photographing the grave, unless I hear otherwise from you. I'll probably be making a trip later this week.

Beth Richards
William Alexander Wood
Hi, Lola,

I'm working on my Fry/Childres/Childress lines and discovered that William Alexander Wood was the son of Robert Wood and his first wife, Mary Louisa Baker. Since Mary died so young, he likely thought Chloe was his mother. So you may want to clarify that on his memorial page since the death certificate is wrong.

Thanks,
Beth

TLH
Roy Fry photo request
Hi, the volunteers would be happy to fill your photo request however we will need a burial location to do so. Can you please contact Laurel Land and get a burial location for your request.

The number is 214 371 1336 or to email them, the link is: http://www.laurellanddallas.com/home/contact_us.html

They are good about responding to the email request! There are over 45 photo requests currently and the volunteers cannot ask for that many locations to fill requests. With a location, your request will get filled pretty quickly. Thanks for your help

Deborah Madearis
RE: Susan Bowlin
There is no marker. I have her death certificate and know she is there. We believe her to be near William Bowlin and his wife Sarah Watson Bowlin as there are spaces and the DAR cited a burial when they platted it in the 1950's.
I can not establish the connection of Susan to William and Sarah. Susan died in Ft.Worth and they brought her all the way to Johnson Station for burial. I find it hard to believe they did this without reason. There were plenty of free places to be buried in Ft. Worth if that were an issue.
Are you connected to her?
Sorry I am new at this Find A Grave site and overlooked your response. Thank you so much.
Deborah
