Hi Ryan, how are you? Would you mind if I used your photo of William's stone on my family tree? I would, of course, give credit to you. Thanks for everything. Kate

Thank you for your message. Your position is quite normal. It is probably Léon ROGER, born in France, but I am not one hundred per cent sure.
By the way, tomorrow, I will put my additions and corrections for his brother Denis ROGER, his parents and his son Denis. No possible confusion with them. Denis and his son Denis are already on Find a Grave.

I have just taken photos of all the grave stones in Old Historical Wayne Cemetery and I didn't find one that read Alexander Putnam. Many of the stones can't be read and others are missing. I have logged all my photos through Billion Graves web site.
Thank you Kim Duncan

Thanks for your help Ryan. She wasn't the one. Edwards wife died sometime between giving birth to Lee in 1894 and 1900 as Edward is listed as a widow on the 1900 census. The search goes on... Thanks so much--you are a blessing.

Hi Ryan, do you have any more info on your memorial for Clara #112492510? I have been searching for the wife of Edward E Curtis and mother of his infant son also buried in Glenwood. I have no knowledge of what her name would be except for a scribble of the name Carrie on a doodle page that I have that Edward wrote. I have an idea it might be his wifes name. Another mystery but you have helped me out with a few already. Thanks for any info you can share.

Thank you for working in the Glenwood Cemetery in Wayne. This is my mother-in-law, Frances Elizabeth DeRosia. Could we manage the memorial? We have a very few photos but many more memories. If you are planning a photo of the stone, I would love that. We missed the opportunity when we lived in Michigan, now we are ex-pats living in Texas.
Thank you for your service creating a more complete look at the residents of Wayne, Michigan.

Hi Ryan, I am curious about your memorials for Sarah and Daniel Hall in Old Wayne Historical Cemetery
memorial #11023991 and 11023988. I have been looking for one of my ancestors Sarah Ann Curtis who married a Daniel Hall and am wondering if you have any other info on these memorials. Birth and Death dates are listed as unknown. Sarah was born in 1834 but I don't know when she died and I have no info on Daniel. Any help you could offer would be very much appreciated.

Would you have any information on the burial site for James Walter and Sarah Jane Johnston Heagen? I am at a dead end. James Walter is the son of Nelson Heagen and grandson of Henry Heagen. Any suggestions or information would be appreciated. Btw, my mother's maiden name was Heagen. She is the daughter of William P. Heagen, gggggreatgrandson of Henry Heagen.

You are correct, my husband is Donald. My family also connects to the Bauder's. Joseph's wife Doris Moore Bauder is my father's mother sister.

Just thought I would let you know that I too research these family lines as John Franklin Bauder and Meda Ethel Johnson Bauder are my husband's grandparents. His mother Thelma Rose Bauder Bristol is also buried in the Midland City Cemetery, Midland, Michigan. She passed when he was 4 years old in 1962.

|C Stanley||RE: Clarks in Glenwood|
Thank you so much for the photos and the messages. This family was written about (in family memory book) as having been buried at the Old Wayne Cemetery, part of which had been donated by the Clark family and had land adjoining. The descendants of this family spoke of burials at Old Wayne Cemetery, of it reaching its capacity and of many burials (names not given) re-interred at Glenwood. Eventually most of the remaining family members were buried at Glenwood.
I have seen older Wayne County cemetery burial transcriptions which listed some of them at both Old Wayne and at Glenwood. For that reason I was afraid to delete the burials that appeared to be duplicates. There is always the slim possibility that another person in the community had the same name and similar death dates.
Meanwhile, I have continued to try to verify who was buried at Old Wayne and who may have been buried or re-interred at Glenwood.
A Guide to OLD WAYNE CEMETERY
Old Wayne Cemetery
35448 Michigan Avenue
"...Old Wayne Cemetery, located on the north side of Michigan Avenue, is a time capsule of the 19th century in Wayne and Nankin Township. Measuring one and one-half acres, the first burial in the eastern half was for Sally Derby in 1834. The western half was dedicated to the cemetery by the Clark family when they buried James Clark there in 1846. The last burial took place in 1916 when John Frank was laid to rest with his parents and brother."
James Clark was buried at Old Wayne Cemetery, according to the article above, which matches up with the family story. His children would have been buried nearby. His wife died in 1875 and would likely have been buried beside him, as well. It is my belief that they were all buried at the Old Wayne Cemetery and either re-interred in or memorialized by family members at Glenwood.
I'd love to have any help discovery the truth to this mystery! If you want to help, email me at my email address, listed on my member page.

Thanks again Ryan. These 2 are a mystery--they are in my mother's genealogy records but I have no idea who they are or belong to. Also, I thought you might be interested to know that Glenwood Cemetery was organized on land owned jointly by my 3x Great Uncle Stephen T. Curtis and another man named Samuel W Walker and that Stephen was one of the first buried in there. I discovered this info in my mother's records but I suspect you probably already new this. I wanted to share it anyway. I have 2 Curtis family members I cant find -- Fredric d. 1928 and Lafayette d.1930 or so. I believe Fred should be in Glenwood. Not sure about Lafayette. Do you have a record for any of them?
I have alot of info on some of the Curtis memorials you manage but I hate to ask you to update and link so much info so I was wondering if I sent you a list would you be willing to transfer them to me? Sorry for the looooong message. Your the best!!
