RE: John H. Younger photo
You're welcome. You could always contact the Crown Hill genealogist to possibly obtain more information about John and who bought the plot, etc. It only costs $5 per person.

Joseph Younger
Hello Ms. Norton,
I am fairly new to researching my family and came across your information and was hoping you could guide me to my next step. My mother was Melda Younger Estes, daughter of Leland Younger. I was trying to find out who Leland's grandfather was. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you. Judy Estes Otter

PS. My mother told us many times of her trip to OK the summer she was 16 to visit her Uncle Lloyd and Aunt.

RE: Joshua Younger
Thanks so much for getting back with me. I guess old Joshua will remain lost. I'm going to continue my quest though. Maybe someday I'll find him!

Good Morning,
The bio looks great. The memorials need to be as accurate as we can make them. It is hard for those of us that are unrelated, with no family information to do the proper job. I am glad James now resides with family and all is well.

Have a great day!

Joshua Younger
Hi - I've been looking for my elusive gr-gr-grandfather Joshua Younger for years. The family scuttlebutt is that he was murdered in Oregon in about 1868. Can't find him anywhere. My grandfather was Leon Earl Younger (1886-1955, buried in WA), gr-grandpa Charles Hardan Younger (1864-1954, buried in WA), gr-gr Joshua; gr-gr-gr-grandpa Littleton Purcell Younger (1813-1893, buried in OR); gr-gr-gr-gr-grandpa Charles Lee Younger (1783-1854, buried in MO); gr-gr-gr-gr-gr-grandpa Joshua Logan Younger (1752-1834, buried in IN); gr-gr-gr-gr-gr-gr-grandpa John Younger (1707-1770, presumably buried in MD); and his father Humphrey Younger (1677-1740, presumably buried in MD). Thanks for any help!
Stephanie (Bremerton, WA, and New Market, TN)

Hi Norma,
Since you are related, I am transferring James to you. You will be able to write a correct bio. Thanks for sorting out this conflicting information I received.

Francis Wallace
I was wondering if Francis (Fanny) M. Black Wallace in Lunenburg could be the only child of Thomas, not listed on his memorial? She was born in 1836. :)

RE: Dr, Abe Black
Hello again Wilma, sorry to be such a nuisance, but I went looking further. I found more. You seemed so skeptical, but I persisted. I am writing one more time to tell you that I believe that A. L. Black was a doctor as well. I have found such documentation as you are interested in, at the Arkansas History Commission. If you are interested I will give the information I have found to confirm it.

Dr, Abe Black
Hi Wilma, haven't talked to you in a while, but I remember you were always interested in finding out more about Abe Black, son of Col. Thos. Black. I was recently looking through a lot of notebooks I have accumulated, and ran across a reference to them both. It is found in the Fireside Stories by Silas C. Turnbo, 1904. The title is "Sad and Serious Recollections of Wardays". It begins as follows: "On the 6th of August, 1907..." It can be found online at If you are unable to find it, leave me a message and I will get back with you. The article states the Abe Black was a doctor.

Jeremy Baker
Lavina J Baker

My name is Jeremy Baker, I am the ggg-grandson of John S Baker who was married to Lavina J. My family and I have been doing some research on the Bakers for quite some time and I was wondering if maybe you had some information that could be helpful. We have been trying to prove Lavinas True maiden name and don't have any solid resources to go by. I noticed that you have McInturf as her original last name. I have seen a few different ones. How do we know for sure? We are also trying to find out where she is buried. We assume that she is in Osborne Cemetery since the rest of the family is there for the most part but I have been there and have never seen a marker. Would you happen to know. We have been trying to prove John S. Bakers dad as well. Are these the same Youngers who are related to the James family as in Jesse James and Cole Younger? Thank you for your time. Have a blessed day.

RE: Judith Ann (Cocke) Younger #120524150
Hi Wilma, no, I am sorry but I don't know if he is buried there or not. More often than not, I will take a photo of two people who are laid to rest beside each other with the same last name. For this reason, I don't think he is buried there beside her, but he may be in Spring Hill. There are several of us here in Lynchburg who are photo volunteers, so I am fairly certain that if you were to put up a memorial for him and he is in fact there, one of us would get a photo for you. You can contact the office at Spring Hill and the lady there is extremely helpful when it comes to finding a lost loved one as well.

Just chatting
Wilma, I share your interest and the joy of searching the genealogy world. Would you be related to the Youngers of Missouri? My grandpa once told me that the Chronister's were a distant relative of the James from the same state. I work five families at the present, Spillers, Chronister, Yates, Mussett and Cunningham. The first three may have owned Arkansas at one time, by numbers anyway. Email if I can be of future assistants or if one of the above names could help you.

Cansada Dowell Younger
I am distantly related to Cansada Dowell Younger and am trying to figure out which Younger she was married to and apparently had two daughters by. On, a number of people have claimed that Hugh Buchanan "Buck" Younger and Cansada were married, but it appears his marriage to Alice Pittman precludes that (unless he divorced one of the two, and that seems unlikely). On the www.findagrave memorials for Cansada and her two daughters, there is no listing for Cansada's spouse or the girls' father. I noticed that not only are you a member of the younger family, but you're an avid genealogist as well. Can you tell me who Cansada married? Thanks, Jane
