Hi John,
I'm doing research on this Marine to complete to bio for his memorial and I noticed that your name was on the flower list several times.
Are you related to him?

Antonia Quirk
The Murphy's
Hi John,

This is your cousin, Antonia Quirk. I'd like to get a copy of that picture you posted of the Murphy's. We've been in touch in the past and you kindly donated to my fundraising campaign for LLS. Thank you. Is there any way you could email that picture to me or can I get an original copy that I would pay for.

As I mentioned to you, I am the grandaughter of Mary Murphy Quirk and Dr. Thomas C. Quirk. My father was John Francis Quirk and my mother was Cornelia Shea Quirk.

I saw that your Dad passed away this year. I'm so sorry. I know how hard that is. As I had mentioned to you, my father passed away August 3, 2005 and my mother passed away August 23rd 2006.

Do you know anything about my grandfather's family, the Quirks?

All the best,

Antonia Quirk

Headstone Pic for Thomas Egan
Hello John
Many thanks extended to you for locating and finding a pic of my grand uncle's grave and headstone. Thomas was born in PEI but lived his adult life in Maine and Massachusetts. During my quest to track our Egan family, he was very elusive and remained a mystery until recently. This truly is a connection with our ancestors! My sincere appreciation for your efforts and your kindness. Ali from PEI

Many thanks for the photo. You've added a bit of a mystery to my family tree it seems as though Dorothy was better known as Evelyn!

Lt. John Flenniken
John, you are very welcome. Since you are interested in him, here is some more information:
He was born on 8 Aug. 1887 in San Franciso, Calif., the son of Robert and Caroline Catherine (Walter) Flenniken. (John's father, Robert Flenniken, was deceased by 1929.) Robert and Caroline's children, in addition to John, were Caroline, Emily, Hannah, Joseph W., Roselma, and Robert T., all of Lynn, Mass. Prior to entering World War I, John was employed by General Electric Company, and had been a resident of Mass. for six years. He graduated from St. John's Military Academy in N.Y. He was commissioned 2nd Lieut. of Infantry, U.S. Army, at Plattsburg, N.Y., 15 Aug. 1917, and assigned to Company M, 101st Infantry, 26th ("Yankee") Division. Went overseas 7 Sept. 1917. Killed in action 27 Feb. 1918, at Vailly, France. Square in Lynn named in his memory (as you mentioned). Pearls of Grace♥

Hello John, thank you very much for flowering my dear mother's memorial. I noticed that you just lost your beloved dad in February. I have a way of getting your father more loving tokens.

I am from Newport County, R.I. I have many Irish BURKE lines in Mass and Vermont, which my mother was working on before she passed away 6 months ago. Still missing pieces of course.

My Burkes start with my great-grandmother, Catherine Burke, and her parents immigrated (sp?) from Ireland, Galway.

I'm sorry for your great loss of your father, but remember, he is in peace and comfort in Heaven.

I've added you as a friend, and will come back soon.

God Bless You my Irish Friend,
