Thank you for linking those. I wish there was some way to know who some of the unidentieds are in that cemetery.

If you can , could you add family links for the Rodes Garth family 39165091. The only link to him would be his daughter, and the links to her would be the three sons. There are only five listed and marked interments in the cemetery. I have photographed the marked graves. Thanks!!

|Robert Thompson||Edits on Find a grave site|
On your personal findagrave home page there is an edit tab at the top of the page. If you click that tab you can choose to accept or reject any corrections all at one time which makes it easier. This was new to me a couple of months ago. It might be new or I just didn't see it. Unfortunately, unless the person making the suggestions uses anyone of the first four categories for the edit, you do not get any email notice that corrections are there other than a number showing up next to the edit on the tab. You just have to know to check it every now and then.

I have made the changes you requested, then I transferred the memorial to you. She was no relation to me, I have just been adding memorials and pictures for a bunch of persons in the Alden Cemetery that had not been done yet.

Thank you so much for the additional information I could add to their sites. I really appreciate it. I'm adding it to my genealogical program also. Every little tidbit from everyone adds more and more to our history.

|Irish-ish||RE: Fannie & Henry Smallwood|
I tell you, it was really sad to see how unkempt and overgrown it was (which was why I photographed as much of it as I could). I was forever stepping on graves because I couldn't see them. The weeds were taller than I was in places (I'm 5'5") and I'm sure I missed graves because there was no layout to follow. Briars were worse and I had so many stickies on my jeans and shoes when I got back to the car that I picked them off for a week, LOL!
It was back in the fall that I was there... I hope someone cut the weeds down this winter!

Thank you for the information on these memorials. I've updated both. Always nice to work with you! Are these some of your relatives? Would you like me to transfer the memorials to you?

Got your e-mail today. Just wanted to determine what source you got his middle name from. I have not yet been able to prove his middle name. Thanks!

|All James||Archibald K McCorkle|
Archibald K McCorkle is my gg-grandfather. His daughter Mary Virginia McCorkle James is my great-grandmother. Are you related to Archibald K McCorkle? If so, I have complete info on Archibald's children and most of their descendants. I was going to add him to this web site and was surprised to find he had already been added. I would love to know how you and I are related.

|Irish-ish||Soldier's Square Headstones|
I've finished uploading all of the soldiers headstones for Soldier's Square. Thanks again for your awesome help with these. I have one that I took that I cannot read or match - some of the ones I couldn't read I was able to get a few letters off of them and find them in your memorials - but this one I simply can't find. I'm going to email it to you in case you can read it or match it.

I feel so silly - I keep forgetting you're in the same town I am, LOL. I'm so used to explaining stuff to people who aren't from here about Rose Hill. :) I do apologize for the earlier posts this week! Most of the dates I got for the soldiers in Soldiers Square came from the Rose Hill book in the Washington Library - I wonder now where the author found them, since so many are incorrect. Can I ask what newspaper article you're reviewing? Just curious! :)
Thank you again for your help!

Thank you so much for your help with Privates Thomas Copeland, James Hewston/Houston, J Lovett, and J Sullivan. I have updated their pages with the information you provided.
A lot of the death dates and unit information I have for the soldiers buried in Soldier's Square come from old cemetery records and are often incorrect. I know a lot of the names were spelled incorrectly as well (Hewston is a good example, I'm pretty certain it was probably Houston) and in 1864, the Macon hospitals were so overworked that the records just weren't well documented. If you run across any more errors, please feel free to let me know. I have about 500 more soldiers in this section of the cemetery to add to the site; I just haven't had time recently to do them!
