Charles S. Ades [104194178]
Hi -

I was wondering where you obtained his birth date? I know he was born in Chicago, Cook, Illinois and according to the 1900 US Census, his birth date is listed as Oct 1855 (which is different than yours - 1 Jan 1855). Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Brandi

Jessie E. Wiggins
Hello, Jessie Wiggins was my Great Aunt.
Are you related to her? There seem to be two headstones for Jessie Wiggins in this Cemetery. It's a bit confusing. Your help would be much appreciated.
Thank you, Doxandra

T. G.,
I finished your photo request for Earl Craig. Buried with him are his mother and father, Aimee Craig and Robert Alexander Craig. There were no memorials for them so I created them and transferred them to you.

Actually, the photo is a fairly recent addition. I requested some Colby photos, but I believe most folks didn't care to go out because they felt all the stones that could have been located already were.

But Mr B and his wife took a metal probe and a shovel and poked around in the ground and actually found some "new" stones, and photographed others which were not done, hence this one. I admire their tenacity ~ they really did a great job.

And thanks again for allowing me to share the photo of Maria on her page. My eyes got so big when I was researching and found Adam's memorial, and there was this lady whose family I'd been trying to track down, looking me in the face. That was GREAT!! :-)

Nite,
Sheila

Thanks for the heads up about Esther's DOD. Maybe my eyes are playing with me, but I believe the stone says she died June 3. That fits, because 3 people from that family died on or around that date.

I do want to tell you that I have put in several edits concerning this family via Ruth Moss, but I have not heard from her in ages. Telling you this just in case you have done the same.

Thanks again,
Sheila

6/14/13 - I don't recall if I responded to your response to my request to download a photo from Find A Grave Memorial #26180504 maintained by Jeff Blythe (originally created by The Girls. You say you don't have a Lucy Leline Brown but it appears that at one time you did have. Anyway, I would still like to receive confirmation of your permission. Many thanks.

This individual Memorial #26180504 and her last name is McLeod but the site is now being maintained by Jeff Blythe. He has already given me permission to use any of his photographs but your designation was under this photograph which is why I am contacting you for permission. I don't know if I will find any others but your permission would be a blanket one, if you don't mind. Jeannine

I am currently compiling in hard copy the Cheadle family history of which the above is a descendant (4th great granddaughter of the progenitor, George Cheadle). My mother-in-law was a Cheadle. I am not requesting transfer of any memorials but would respectfully request permission to download the gravestone photograph (and any others that may pertain to this line) with credit given such as "Courtesy of The Girls (unless you provide and permit use of proper names), contributors, Find A Grave Memorial # ? ? ?" if this is agreeable.

I look forward to your response either way. My treatise is in no way a profit making project and will not (by my request) be posted on the internet nor will living individuals be included to the best of my ability.

You have no idea how much we who are of an age (I'm 84) or distance and cannot traipse through cemeteries as we once did appreciate the effort and passion of you who contribute to Find A Grave. Many thanks from an old lady.

Kindlers in Park Hill there, and in Crown Hill, here
No, I'm not a relative. I've been documenting the cemetery for Find A Grave, and as I get into researching a family, they become a part of my life, as I learn where they came from, how they came to the Powell area, deaths, births, etc. In fact, I've done so much research just for Find A Grave memorials, that I'm now working on a book of the people who came to this area. Canals, irrigation and water changed this entire area from a high desert into a fertile farmland. The railroad immigration agent who promoted this area is one of the forces who settled this area, and this became a mini melting pot as people from all walks of life and countries came here to enter into the draw for homesteads.

As you can tell, it all fascinates me. I got to know the Kindler family, and hope to 'reunite' them all on Find A Grave. I hope to honor their memory well.

Thank you for your work on Find A Grave! It's a blessing to many people who are looking for their past.

Hi Millie,

I wanted to touch base with you about some biographical info you provided for the Adam Hetrick memorial 17729185 .

I have recently discovered his wife, Maria, 103034783 . You seemed to be pretty easy going by your bio, so I have employed the info for use on Maria's bio too, naturally with a credit to you.

Hopefully this is acceptable, and I thank you for the details about this family. I am not related, but I am creating memorials and always appreciate when I can add to them.

Warmest Regards,
Sheila

I would like to help clean/uncover headstones at Park Hill. The one I located per a request today was almost totally grown over with grass. I couldn't find the other one at all.

RE: Ignatius Ackley
Many thanks for yesterday's Ackley transfers. Much appreciated. I'll lavish TLC on them.

Any particular Upstate NY county where I should watch out for the Ackleys? I live in Onondaga Co, NY, myself.

Funny you should ask if I belong to NSSAR. I joined in 1975, when I was 34 years old. There were only senior citizens (probably younger than I am now) in the local chapter, so they met in the middle of the work day, and they couldn't understand why they couldn't get younger men to participate. :-) Because I was effectively shut-out of participating, I dropped the membership. About 30 years later, I inquired about reactivating the membership and was told I'd have to pay 30 years of back dues! Other SAR members have told me that's absurd, but I didn't care enough to pursue it. Aren't you glad you asked? :-)
