Wiley Ledbetter Lunsford
I am Maxine Lunsford Gaddy. Wiley's brother James Pierce was my great grandfather,Wiley's daughter Berlina Ethel married James Levi Rush and had around 6 children,so in my searches I was trying to figure out how you, since you are a Rush, and I see where you maintain a lot of the family's memorials, came into the picture and if you know how WILEY was killed. I was lucky enough to get a picture of one of James Pierce's daughter, Florence Ann her husband and some of their children. If you can help with any information or pictures it would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Boulter Family
Thanks for updating. I need to go out and get a picture of Mr. Boulter's grave to post. He was a very important figure in Smith County education in the first half of the last century. One of the stories I recall him telling was about his first school. There were some big, tough older guys who tried to intimidate him because he walked with crutches. He set up a chinning bar, and chinned himself with one arm. They treated him respectfully after that.

My Gilberts came to Texas from Alabama in about 1854. They wound up in NW Smith County and eastern Van Zandt County. The earliest one I can track was William Gilbert, C. 1780 - c 1855, Alabama. He had 21 kids by two wives between 1801 and 1849, so there were enough progeny to possibly have a tie.

Hi John, I am helping my sister with her husbands family. His mom is Pruitt, Sarah L. (Hood) #72686160. Her mom Hood, Lucy E. (Taylor). Her mom Taylor, Alice M. ( ). This would be my brother in laws great grandmother. I believe her parents may be Stokes, Willie & Nancy J. (Wilkens) who also had a son David A. born approx 1895. You posted a pic on the above David's memorial - do you know who his parents and siblings are? Any info/help would be much appreciated. Thank you, Diana

John, Those names are not familiar to me, but since they are buried at Creagleville, there must be some connection.

Any clue for me to go by? I have a LOT of Duke information & will share.

If you will provide me the names of the WITTs you are looking for, perhaps I can be of help.

RE: George Mcneely
John, George was a brother of my great grandfather, James William McNeely (J.M. or Jim). I have years of research with a cousin's wife and other relatives on the McNeely side. If you or your mother-in-law is interested. I also have the Bible of George's parents. Without that information, I might have remained totally confused for many more years on this family. If I can find a way to send you a private message, I will send my contact info to you.

I can't remember if I answered your question,
if not I apologize, if I did forgive me for repeating myself. Viola and Berlina were just 2 of Wiley Ledbetter Lunsford's children, Wiley was a brother to my great grand father, James Pierce.
I still can't find Viola's grave site.
Thanks, Maxine Gaddy

RE: Waggoner
Thank you for your reply. Viola was the daughter of Wiley Ledbetter Lunsford, whose brother James Pierce Lunsford is my great grandfather. I have also been trying to find out how he,Wiley was killed. All I can find out is he was killed in a tragic accident leaving a wife,Augusta and 9 children. Then Augusta was sent to Terrill State Hospital and her parents raised the children.I have searched every cemetery that I can think of and can't find Viola. Any help you might be able to give will be greatly appreciated.I am disabled so I have to do all my searching on the computer. Thanks, Maxine
