Pat,

I went back and did a close-up of the gravestone for Mary A. Spraker Hill - Memorial# 43973180. It appears that the death date of 1851 may actually be 1854. The left side of the 4 is very faint just like the left side of the A. in her middle initial. If this is correct, then it would make sense to be the mother of Thomas Hill. When the weather improves, I will try to go check out this stone myself. Thanks!

Hi Pat,

On Find A Grave Memorial# 43973180, Mary cannot be the mother of Thomas Hill whose stone is listed as next to hers. According to Find A Grave stone listing, he was born 1853 and Mary died in 1851. Since John C. Hill married again in 1856 to Jane Pottorff and our family records do not show a marriage in-between, this is interesting.

A marriage license in Clark Co., IL on 7 Nov 1849 shows Mary Spraker marrying John Hill, she was 17.

She is then shown in his home in the 1850 Shelby Co., IN census enumerated on 25 Sept 1850. She is listed as 18 years old in this census.

John C. Hill and a previous wife, Barbara Kennedy (Kenneday) are my husband's ggg-grandparents.

Thank you!

You can find these on line thru Familysearch.org.

RE: kathy Ratke
Kathy died: 6-2-2009 I think her last name was still Ratke I don't think she ever married. I am not positive but I think she had 6 children. I only know the name of the oldest, Theresa. I don't know any other details. Those girls never kept in touch much. We only got to talk to Kathy toward the end of her life. And yes I heard she had AIDs also alone with many other problems.

I don't know where Maryann is right now. She was in the hospital and then a nursing home, back and forth. She was homeless at times I guess. She got in touch with Tony and he went to see her but was only able to get her back to the hospital that she left too early because she got mad. She is not very cooperative I guess. When Tony went to help her all she wanted was to go buy beer and this while her throat was all bandaged up from surgery. She doesn't really want to help herself I guess. I am not sure if she ever was married.

With regard to your photo request for Sarah and Floyd Frank at Graceland Cemetery, the cemetery genealogist reported back to me as follows:
Bob,
Sarah Frank was cremated at Graceland Cemetery 12/06/1932 and her ashes returned to the undertaker. I do not find any records for Floyd Frank.

Sorry this does not meet your with your request,

RE: Regarding Amanda VanScyoc
I plan to contact the police department that was on the case shortly to see if I can learn more. And my family lived in Mt. Vernon so I'm not sure what family home you're talking about. But I do plan on doing my fair share of digging into the case. The other person involved deserves to be punished and instead she's off living life while Amanda seems to be forgotten.

Regarding Amanda VanScyoc
Imagine being 20 years old and just beginning to find things out about your big sister's murder from when you were 9 years old. I'm back in Evansville and you better believe I plan on finding out everything I can. My entire family knows who killed Amanda and he died long ago, however there's one more person to blame and only God can punish her in the way she deserves.

RE: Eva Kubacki memorial # 94974475
A term grave is essentially a rented grave plot. The person is still buried in the cemetery -- they aren't moved; but other people are buried in the same plot and there usually only a marker for the most recent burial (if any at all).

I think I misspoke earlier as memorial 72668578 was created by my good friend Dave Crouse 47355833 (kemmergem@yahoo.com). You'll have to ask him if he would transfer to you. I'll gladly send you the photo though.

Hi Pat,
I photographed a lot of Lee County Graves a couple of days ago. You might want to look at memorial # 72668578. It has one of my pictures. She is in Red Hill cemetery which is a very tough one to get around. It's in Downtown Pennington Gap on the a back street not far from the fairgrounds.
