Hello, milejo77.

Boy, do I have egg on my face. I meant to write that Bert Vanderbur is my Grandfather, not my Father. Again, thank you.

I would appreciate if you could transfer the memorial of my relative, Susan Fourtner. It took a long time to find her. Now that I see the spelling on the headstone, I can understand why!

Norbert Dehut - 1832-1899 year of death
I am puzzled and looking for advice to resolve what I believe to be an error for the year of death for Norbert Dehut. From verbal family stories and information from my grandfather, Edward E. Dehut, son of Norbert, I believe the year to be 1889, not 1899. Edward shared a residence with us, making a three generation household. I spent much time with him. He told me his father (Norbert) died when he was 8 years old and in second grade. There is a longer story about what happened, if needed. My father, Norbert's grandson verified this.

Looking at the gravestone picture, this appears to be a newer or replacement gravestone. The third digit may possibly be an 8 instead of 9. If that is not the case, are there old cemetery records from Long Island Cemetery, Kansas, to confirm the date of death? What other old records could help clarify this? I am totally inexperienced at geneology, so could use advice or help on this.

Thank you very much for taking photos and providing information. This is a valuable service that you do.

Sincerely,
Alberta "Jean" (Dehut) Bakken

James William Spicer 1944-1987
Hello Milejo,

I believe the James William Spicer 1944-1987 who is buried in Fairview Cem. in Phillipsburg, Ks is the son of Zona Wachs and James Spicer who are also buried in Fairview Cemetery. James Spicer 1902-1946 was Zona's husband and James William Spicer's father.

Thank you,
Jim Cannon

Thanks for the photo. This is my Great-Great Grandfather. His son, James, is buried next to him. (to the south as you are facing William's stone). I would like to replace the stone but I haven't been able to nail down a death date. Thanks again.

Phillip Gordon Schermerhorn
I was wondering if you could tell me where you took the picture of Phillip's headstone (#28482526)? Is it in a cemetery or at the location of the family's old farm site?

The reason why I ask is that I was recently transferred the memorial for Phillip's sister Louisa and it has the names of Phillip's parents, siblings and children listed as a cenotaph.

Betsey E. Greek
Hi Milejo77,

My ggg-grandmother was Betsey E. Greek and while looking through the site her name came up and it shows you took a picture of the cemetery where she's buried at. I was wondering if you still happen to live close to that cemetery if you can get a picture of her tombstone? Please let me know if you need additional details about her.

Thanks,

Tim

Ruth Ellen Bartels
RE: Schoen's at Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney Nebraska
I came to this particular family through research of John August Schoen's wife, Florence Regnier; she is a distant cousin. However, the Schoen's are also connected to my husband's tree, the Wiegert branch. I found a place to purchase obits for John August and Florence Regnier Schoen which hopefully will tell where they're buried. I'll set up a new memorial if necessary when I get that information.

RE: Falsken
Louisa Falsken was my grandmother, and Wilbur Falsken was my father. I was surprised to see a request for photo, as we had been to Maple Grove Cemetery many times. In fact my dad would go and mow the cemetery before memorial day when I was growing up. Also on the grave marker for Leta is actually Letah A. and I don't know what that middle name was. Her father was August so maybe Augusta? I'm glad I could help you out. How do fit into the Bauer family? Del.

Anna Catherine Roscrans Millet
I just wanted to let you know that Ann Catherine is not buried in the Plum River Cemetery, she is buried in the Morseville Cemetery, which was also called the Morseville-Plum River Cemetery years ago. I've run across this alot in my genealogy research.
There is a memorial posted in the Morseville Cemetery for her also, although I believe yours was posted first.
If you would like to verify, http://jodaviess.ilgenweb.net/cemeteries/cem.htm
Also...I have a Millet ancestor buried in Morseville also, who we are at a dead end at trying to find who her parents were. If you have info. and would like to share, please email me directly.
Have a great day.

Sandy
