Hi Kathy :
I just fulfilled your request for Peter.Cole but I've got a question for ya.

The woman laid to rest w/him @ Pine Slope is Anna, not Alice.I do have pictures of her stone as well ...I'm soooo confused on this one :-)

Barlow
Hi Kathy,

I remember corrosponding with you abt the Barlows, was doing some research and stumble on this, not sure if you have seen it or if it pertains to your searches,,

Barlow Lake is named after a gentleman, Nathan Barlow. Nathan Barlow, representative from Barry County, in 1841 and 1848, was born in the state of Vermont in 1785- came to MI in 1837 and settled in the township of Yankee Springs Barry County.

By occupation a merchant and farmer; in politics a Whig. He served as associate judge and in company with his son, Nathan Jr., erected a saw mill at the outlet of Barlow Lake in 1840 and became the first postmaster. On Feb.7, 1870, he had the name of the post office changed to Bowen's Mill. (To this day, Bowen's Mills is still operational and preserved as a historic site.) Nathan Barlow died at Hastings in October 1834

The deathdate on the headstone is different than what is listed in the memorial. If this is not the person you were looking for, let me know. Nadine

RE: Fairbanks
If you are talking about Joshua Fairbanks in Shurtleff Cemetery, it matches the dates on the memorial that Mike (Antwerp History Buff) created. Not sure why you think it doesn't go on that memorial, but if you let me know the problem, I can delete the photo and try again.

There is another Joshua Fairbanks over in Oakwood in Theresa. If you can explain the comment I can try to help sort it out.

RE: George Faulkner/Angelus Rosedale
There is no one in that area named Faulkner. George's grave is unmarked and there were no other Faulkner's in that area. Sorry.

Hi. I found the section however, there is no headstone for Mr Faulkner. I will post a photo of that general area later today. Tony

Are you sure the section for George is G? I'm looking at a map and there is no Section G listed on the map. The office is closed today but I'll see if I can find someone to confirm the section is or is not there.

not a problem, and I always take my son with me, he loves doing this, and it also helps with his reading:) The pic of him was taken at Oak Hill Cemetery, and he was standing in front of the Legend "crying Mary" it was an old folk story that has been around Battle creek forever, I told him the story as he was standing in front of it. He loves the old stories.

Barlows-Rutland Cemetery
Hi Kathy,
I see you have several request for Barlows at the Rutland Twp Cemetery, I called the cemetery and I believe many of the ones you are looking for are buried on the same lot with one small marker simply reading "Barlow" I walked the cemetery with a friend and we found no Barlow headstones aside from the ones there are already photos for. I do have a photo of the small one tho if you are interested, you might be able to call and see who exactly is on which lots to narrow it down and add the one photo to the ones on that lot? I have done that myself :)

Let me know,, I can send you the photo.

Monique

RE: Vansyckle
Kathy, Thank you. I will see if I can find them with this additional info you supplied, as it all helps. Are you also related to the ones in the Andover Cemetery?

Thanks again,
Christine

RE: Vansyckle
Thanks, Kathy, I will try to find them this weekend. The cemetery doesn't have any section/plot markers or a staffed office, so it is more difficult to search. I will see what I can find and post it, or let you know. Do you know the relationship of the two James'? Do you have the parents or other family members names of the one I didn't find yet? Especially if he was married and is buried with his wife's family etc. Might help me in finding him, as anything you can think of might be helpful.

Thanks,
Christine

Kathy,
You are very welcome. I was not able to locate Mary or George yet, but as soon as I do I will post them as well. Did you actually view the stones, are they in the same general area as Amelia & James? Also you requested a photo of the stone of another James with the same birth year, but a different death date as the one I found. Is this correct and if so, is he in the same area as the others? I plan to go back later this week to look for them again, so any help you can offer me in finding them is greatly appreciated.

Christine
