RE: Libby Hill
Hiya Rob,
It's 81*F at this moment here in Conway, Arkansas. On an average July 29th it's usually at least 88*F so this is an enjoyable temperature to me. It's the right heat for me, although I don't mind it in the 60s, but no lower than that.

I have a central AC/heating unit but it hasn't worked in a few years. I've been keeping cool by a tiny AC window unit in the bedroom, a table fan in the computer room and ceiling fans. I'm just glad we live in a time when we've got AC and fans. I would not have wanted to live in a time before this.

When I was 15 years old I took a road trip similar to yours. It was 3 months of adventure and fun. Unfortunately I don't remember most of it. ;)

I forgot to say that we have been having a weird July, summer for that matter. I don't think I've ever known a summer to have so many mornings and evenings in the sixties. Just so weird. The majority of the time we're in the 100s even at night by now.

I was born and raised in Arkansas and will always live here. I love this state! It's my roots, many generations back. Besides, it's just so beautiful and diverse. I can go into the mountains or down into the swamps or just stay in the valley. Plus we have plains, deltas, ridges (Crowley's Ridge), hills, ect.

I live in a house that was finished in 1971. It is in front of a 15 acre park that has a creek that runs right through it and has a long walking/jogging/biking trail. The park has a tennis court, basketball court, softball/baseball field, a dirt bike trail, a meadow and a woody area, plus two playgrounds and a few bridges. Plus, I live a few blocks from a train track (the train is why my city of Conway (pop. 55,286) was created) and a block from a private club with a swimming pool. And, I'm within the distance of walking to a Walmart Marketplace in one direction and a corner store/gas station in another direction. Also, downtown is within walking distance. My sister and daughter (they smoke, I don't) live in a duplex that is up the street from me and up the street from them are my parents. I feel privileged to live in an area like this.

Thank you for the reply. I'll have to look into that area. I've always wanted to go to Maine anyway.

I saw your message on Peter M. Smith's page. Where is Libby Hill located? *curious* I'm not named after Libby Hill, my nickname comes from the Libby's product. But, I'm always wondering about places that have the name Libby in it.

Mary Elledge
I've added two photos of Mart Elledge's grave. The stone is worn enough that the lettering doesn't show up in a photo but can be read if you get close to it and trace out the lettering.
