RE: Liam's Dada
How devastating. I know there aren't a lot of words for something so painful to the core. It is so comforting that God guides them through their lives. But the pain must be unbearable.

Thank you so much for the updated information. I have reformatted the biography and was hoping you might review it and see if there is anything I should add. My heart goes out to the family and friends who lost this little angel.

Hi Diana!

I will certainly do my best to get to Crestwood this week and retake the photo. I have Wednesday off this week, hopefully they'll be some drier, sunnier weather to accompany me!!

Do you know the parentage of your Lyman Howe? There are more than 1 Lyman Howe and conflicting info on parentage. I am trying to help another family.
Thank you,

Bliss Family
Just saying, "Hello!" We are distantly related through the Bliss Family. :) Cyrus and Betsey Bliss would be my 4th great grandparents. I am related through their son, John, and his wife Emily - then David and Sarah and Lillian (maternal great grandmother). Shannon (Ross) Johnson

Henry Frick
Hi, Diana,

Henry Frick married Marium York (1848-1912). Is that the "Marius" you mentioned? She was married to Henry, and not his father John.

Marium was the daughter of my 3rd-great-grandparents, John H. York and Anna Crothers, and the older sister of my 2nd-great-grandfather, James L. York.

I'd love to be in touch with you to exchange info on the two branches! You can email me at

RE: Albert Erickson
As you can tell I don't check my messages here very often.
Yes, Albert Erickson is my great granduncle. I don't think my dad ever met him as dad was born and raised in Nevada and his family didn't move back to Michigan until 1942, well after Albert passed away.
Are you related to the Ericksons?

RE: Annie Chesterman
Hi Diane, again.
I have found out quite a lot of information about Annie including the death of her father Josiah who died in a bad train accident at work which resulted in Annie going to Canada. If you would like this info, please send your email address to me at I do have a foto of her sister as well.

Hi Diana,

Found your memorial to Mildred McCandlish Frick. I am related to Mabel Cheney. I need some help finding what happened to Margaret Ruth, Mildred's sister. Any ideas?

Hello again!

I've added the original photo I took to your Aunt's memorial. I will give it a bit of time and stop back by again - perhaps the final dates will have been engraved. If so, I'll replace the picture!

More children of Joachim (son of Fred and Sophia) and Christina Weiskirch
You had listed several of Joachim and Christina Weiskirch's children and I wanted to add to that, since there were 10 in all, as you had written...
Ada - b. 12 Sep 1872 d.12 Jun 1944
John C. - b. 29 Nove 1873 d. Jan 1963
*Frank Henry - b. 1875 d. 1935 (ptrl 2nd Grt Grndf)
Ernst/Ernest J. - b.1882 d.1958
Louis Carl Ernst - b.20 Aug 1885 d. 10 Feb 1961
William - 10 Sep 1887 d.?

You may already have this info elsewhere; I just hadn't see it up on the gravesite page and wanted to throw it out there.
Thank you,
Jane Arnold

Weiskirch Line
Hi Diana,
Thank you so much for contributing the info on the Weiskirch Line, particularly Fred Dehtlof Weiskirch, father of Joachim, my paternal 2nd great grandfather (his son Frank Henry was my grandmother's father.) Fred and Sophia aren't coming up on any MI census records. They lived in MI correct? I had a whole line of Weiskirchs from Dayton, Iowa, but apparently it was the wrong line! (So many Joachims and Johanns!!) Since viewing the Gravesite info, I've fixed the facts, but am baffled as to why their names aren't showing on Census records. Could Fred or Sophia have possibly changed their first names?
Thank you for your time!

May I ask why. The headstone is hers and her husbands. The only thing missing is her death date on the memorial.

Melvin Lloyd McArthur
Hi Diana,

I just added the parents and brothers memorials to your Melvin L McArthur #32145650. He is a Vietnam KIA and his family has since died as well. I wanted to complete this family. Do you think the owner of the photo for the stone would care if I added it? Doesnt look as though she is still active.

Thanks for all your findagrave contributions.

RE: Harry E Best

Your welcome.
To add to the mix when I was looking for Harry in Maple Grove Cemetery, Kalkaska I found a marker for a "Mary L. Best wife of Eli best died June 10, 1886, Age 17yr's 4m's 2d's" I created a memorial and posted a photo of her marker, memorial #133205823. Also for two children that are right next to her. One of the markers is inscribed "Dau of E & M L Best" did Harry's father Eli live in that area? I also noted that His marker lists his wife as Mary L. 1869 to 1945. Could the Mary in Maple Grove be a first wife?

Albert Erickson
Yes, he is my great uncle. As my dad's family lived in Nevada from about 1921 to 1943, I don't think my dad ever met this uncle. I'm going up to where Albert is buried, along with his wife, father, brother and his spouse. I only wish someone was still around to fill me in on some things from my grandma's family.
