Albert Erickson
Yes, he is my great uncle. As my dad's family lived in Nevada from about 1921 to 1943, I don't think my dad ever met this uncle. I'm going up to where Albert is buried, along with his wife, father, brother and his spouse. I only wish someone was still around to fill me in on some things from my grandma's family.

Diana - I was just at his page checking on some dates and noticed the flowers and message you left: "For Connie's father and Gae's grandfather." Albert was my paternal grandmother's older brother. My grandma and family were living in Nevada at the time of his death so I don't know if my dad even ever met him, plus he was only 4 when Albert died. I do remember my folks talking about going to a wedding...I think it was one of Albert's daughters and his wife, Ethel, came to my dad's funeral in 1970. I have never met anyone from Albert and Ethel's family and I have no way to try to make contact as I don't have his daughters' married names. I would appreciate any kind of hint you could possibly give me. I know passing info to strangers isn't wise and will understand if can't help me. I appreciate all the people like you who do so much for this site. I've done a couple of looks for people when I visited the U.P. 2 years ago. By the way, I do live in Michigan. Thanks.

Hello Diana, I'm so happy I could help out! I have found that Find A Grave has become a passion and I truly enjoy my days off wandering through the cemeteries. Both Crestwood and Evergreen and just miles from my home, with Evergreen literally being around the corner. I've found myself stopping at 7:30 am on my way home from work to add grave sites.

I'm fascinated with my family heritage as well. We're planning a trip to Arkansas to visit family and I'm looking forward to seeing more old family photos and visiting the local cemeteries!

Berg
No, I have no Berg's from Michigan. At least I don't think I do. My great grandfather John Berg came over from Norway sometime before 1880 as he was on that census in Wisconsin. That is all I know about his early life.(he was 30). He married in Wisconsin and they moved to Washington state in 1884. I know nothing of siblings or parents.

Diana,
Just wanted to say I appreciate your memorials for Jacob and Magdalena Frick and Jacob and Mary Frick. They were my 4th and 5th great grandparents. My sisters and I are planning on taking a trip to Pennsylvania (from Michigan) next summer and hoping to visit the cemetery.

Simmonds location
You would go to section 75 which is a corner section (surrounded by road on two sides). The lot number on the map will be 809. The unmarked plot can be seen from the road, second row in.

I just posted the picture for Walter & Anne. The cemetery confirms that they are in the unmarked plot directly to the right of the Rashak stone. If you look closely you can see that the grass has not yet returned to the plot since Anne's funeral.

Hello,
I made a memorial for Samuel Frick 22,July 2007, and you made yours in 2009.
I see that you are related so I will delete my memorial.

Have a wonderful evening.

Jessie Gossett
You had left a token/flower with a message on a memorial I had created for Clome Ovie Gossett saying that he had a grandson named Jessie Gossett.

Ovie, as he was called, didn't have any grandchildren at all. He and his wife Lena Capps Gossett only had one daughter and she never had children. Lena was my father's aunt.

RE: Weisskirch
Joachim Weiskrich - I checked with the church office and they do not have a listing for those buried in the old section (Plot A) of the cemetery, but the secretary said she has books that people can look through. They have limited office hours and they don't sync up well with my schedule, so the first I could get there to look through the books would be in late August. Would you mind sending me a reminder then?

RE: Weisskirch
Hi There, I did look through all the stones in the old section of the cemetery (where I also found Christina)however, I could not easily find Joachim or Joseph Weisskirch. Many of the older stones are so difficult to read because they are worn and many are written in German. I called the church office (St Peter's Macomb) this morning to ask if they had record for him, but the gal that handles the cemetery records is on vacation so they asked me to call back on Monday, which I will do. I won't report anything official on your Find a Grave request until I speak with the church office. Take care!

Hi Diana,
Thank you for your memorial on Jacob Frick. He was my 4th great grandfather. His daughter Martha was my 3rd, and her son Christian was my 2nd, and his daughter Catharine was my great grandmother. I too live in Michigan. Catharine moved to Michigan when she married Jacob Bessey.

Second time I have gotten this message. The marker IS on Patricia Isaacson's memorial. It doesn't show right away-you have to click on "There is 1 more photo not showing...
Click here to view all images..." which is below the other pictures to see that one.

Patti is active in our Genealogical Society. I'm Treasurer; she is Secretary. Nice lady!

I finally finished getting the last things done for the memorials, so have transferred all the children of Charles & Ellen Lindblom to you.
& thanks for the St Patrick's Day wishes! I am 1/4 Irish and have been to Ireland two times, so always enjoy celebrating the day.

RE: Issacson and wester
Every sibling's obituary says William lives in Lombard IL, which is in DuPage County. Maybe you can try checking with the county clerk there. And is it possible that "Lydia" could be Elida?

I have puzzled over this for almost two hours here.

Wayne Ohlsson is an extensive researcher who has done a database of over 84,000 people who have Iron County cennections. Here is a link to his information on this family:
http://worldconnect.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=iron%5Fco%5Fmichigan&id=I03667

I absolutely cannot find William (or August William) buried in Iron County, or for that matter, anywhere listed on FindAGrave. He is absolutely NOT in Stambaugh Cemetery, so you will need to change the entry you made for him (#106044089). I think there is a way that you can make an entry with cemetery unknown if you want to try changing your entry. There is no obituary for him going as far back as 1968. YES! Go to burial edit just above where it says Stambaugh Cemetery on his entry. Change from cemetery burial to burial unknown at this time.

Lydia might be this Elida Johnson who I just discovered and connected to the parents. I will get her obituary too, and that might clear things up.

I'm working on the obituaries this week.

Ref Jacob Henry Frick 1766-1832
Diana,
I am looking for a connection between Maria (known as Fannie) and Jacob Frick. I found some family information that he had a daughter Fannie. Do you have any information on her. She married John Groff; died in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. Any help from anyone would be appreciated. Cindy Hoffman; light1959@yahoo.com
