Personally it sounds like they are interested in this, for their community. Since this is no longer your community maybe they should raise the money for the project themselves.

You are welcome for photos of the Brown's and W. Rieger. Sorry I can't be of any help on the William/Wallace mystery.

|Barbara Goggin Brann||no stones|
I have had a few family members with no stones also, but I have only felt obligated to buy one. It was for my brother. He was my parent's first baby, and he died at 4 months old. I know that they didn't have any money at the time to buy him a stone, but they certainly did later, so I don't know why they didn't. And I didn't know this until I requested a photo for him on Find A Grave a few years back.
So why on earth does an historical society want you to purchase a stone?

Hi. The funny thing is, is that it's correct on my computer. I actually took the photos with my camera. So when I upload them from my computer they're right side up, but when they upload they turn sideways. Not sure what else I can do since Find A Grave doesn't have a tool for us to rotate the photos. I even tried to turn them sideways on my computer hoping they would flip correctly on Find a Grave, but to no avail.

Not too many of your requests have stones! Very sad. I always feel bad for you when I don't find one.

I did note in the caption of the picture that that was the area of his grave. At least I thought that I did that. I also marked the GPS coordinates for anyone wanting to find the area, and noted what gravestone it was closest too.
Yes we have been having a truly colorful autumn. The fire bushes are all bright magenta right now.

|Barbara Goggin Brann||Cemeteries|
Three cemeteries, Erie Cemetery on Chestnut St, Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery, on Norcross Rd and Laurel Hill Cemetery on Love Rd. I have also been working on the photo requests in Erie Memorial Gardens off of I-90 with the jet plane in it, and Veteran's Memorial Cemetery on the grounds of the Soldier and Sailors Home on East 3rd Street.

You are very welcome. I decided that it was time to start giving back, since so many volunteers have taken pictures for me in other states since I too don't live near where my ancestors lived. I have cleared out nearly 200 photo requests in three nearby cemeteries, in the past month, some of which have been in the queue for over two years. I know others in the area used to do the photos, but perhaps they are no longer capable. So anyway I am happy to give back, and love what I refer to as "cemeterying". So if there are any others in those cemeteries that you wish photos for put in the request, and weather permitting I will try to find the grave sites for you. Have a very nice day, and I appreciate the recognition. You would be surprised how many people don't even say Thank You!!!

Linda: I added the additional Page family at Oak Hill to their memorials for you...Vernon, Jean, Harriet, Schuyler..as well as Laura earlier.

I am certain this is your Laura Page..with a few corrections...Middle initial and date of birth per memorial are a little off from what the cemetery records show. Would you like the memorial changed to reflect what the marker says? Let me know and I can do it for you..Rachel

I had found the engagement also. I believe it was before the 1940 census came out. Don't know what got me to looking again.

This is funny. I was working on her this morning. Guess we are on the same thinking alike this morning. What I did find was the 1940 census saying they were married. Haven't had the chance to change it in the tree. Wanted to do more research.Let me know if you find anything more.

No problem Linda, wish it were a better photo, there was wet grass and dirt,hence the dark area.

You are truly welcome!
It's easy enough to move from lot to lot. I did not find a stone for
Andrew. Please ask for everyone you want because I am not in that
town and don't want to make two trips. I also have Susan, John
baby Cheryl, Raymond and Robert Kommer who are on another lot and
will post those photos if there are memorials for them

She was born to Henry J and Josephine Getz Schafer in 1879 in Weibersbrunn, Bavaria, Germany. In 1901 she married Jacob Schmidt. She was the sister of Mary Schafer Kreber and John P. Schafer. Pauline and Jacob had no children. Buried in St. Joseph's. This is all I have, hope it helps. Rosemary Paul Zyskowski
