|LarryW||RE: Clinton DeMoss|
...and that fits the other piece I found yesterday: his obituary in the Omaha Bee (10/27/11), which lists his date of death as October 24, 1911, at his home in Omaha. Apparently the person who previously said she had found his obituary was working off the burial data.
So, I've posted an edit for his memorial (having messed up filing it twice before -- sorry if you saw those :-/ ), since this looks solid. Thanks again for all your help!

|LarryW||RE: Clinton DeMoss|
Thanks -- this is quite informative! Clinton's date of death in this list matches a potential date I'd just found elsewhere, and is thus an extremely useful piece to the puzzle.
None of the other surnames ring a bell, though -- perhaps there's no significant connection.

|Linda Linn||RE: Civil War Veterans|
Hi. Sorry, I'm so late getting back to you. I was gone for the weekend and did not get email notices from Find A Grave about additions or corrections. We are mostly looking to document burials even if there are no markers found.
I believe that it used to be that anyone could request a military headstone for a veteran, but I believe that the government now only accepts such requests from direct descendents of the veteran. You could check with the VA in the county where the person is buried, to see what their policy is. They would probably need an obit or cemetery records to verify burial. We have found several CW vets who have stones in two different cemeteries--sometimes even different states.
Thanks for all your work on Find a Grave!

Hi, I'm trying to find more information about my ancestor Clinton DeMoss, and found the memorial you created ( 37066360 ), which I then posted a photo request for.
Just got a response from someone who couldn't find Clinton's marker after two searches.
I know this was several years and probably several thousand memorials ago, but I was wondering if you recall how you got the information you used to create this memorial?
Any help appreciated.

HI. Thank you for the photo. I see that it says "Emma, wife of John". Do you know if another side of the stone says John? Apparently he had another wife named Bessie who has a separate gravestone. Linda

|J O Pierce||Nebraska Easter Tornado 1913|
Hi, I just happened to see memorial you had created of a distant relative of mine, George Wm King, thanks. But the amazing thing I saw was that you have created that memorial for the Easter 1913 disaster. I have read a lot of things about the tornado and often wondered who had been killed in it. Thanks for the answers!

|Connie Schwindt Rumold||New way to submit Edits.|
Found this nice message on another contributor's bio and thought I would pass it on to you. I thought you might find it helpful.
"Find a Grave has implemented a new way to submit Edits! Unfortunately, there are far too many members for Find a Grave to notify everyone via email, so it's up to us to get the word out. If every member posts this message (or similar) in their profile, hopefully we can help spread the word.
To suggest a correction (SAC) click on the edit tab of the memorial that needs to be corrected. Then click on the link which best describes where your edit should occur. Enter your correction, when you're done, click submit edit. Your request will be sent to the manager of the memorial and will appear in the managers' profile under the Edits tab.
Managers will no longer receive emails. They must go directly to their profile page and click on the Edits tab. Managers can approve, deny or ignore, suggested corrections. It's quick and easy!"

New "Automated" system for "Suggest a Correction/Submit an Edit"
New System for Memorial Edits deployed by FindAGrave on 12/5/2013
Go to your Contributor/Profile page.
Look in the upper right corner. You should now see a tab called "Edits" - check there to see if any have been submitted to you.
Then just review and accept.
Way easier for doing updates to names / dates / places / plot #s.
You still will get e-mails to add info to bio section or do linking.

You added a photo of Dorthy Ryan memorial, buried in Yankton, SD. Since the photo is copy write protected, would you allow me to re-post the same picture on Dorthy's husband John Darcy's memorial. If you would prefer would you post it on John Darcy's memorial?
