RE: Offutt Memorial Photos/Hardison Cemetery
Use the photos as if you had taken them.

Henry Offutt
You have requested a photo of Mr. Offutt's marker in Lynnhurst Cemetery in Knoxville, TN. I am unable to find that Mr. Offut has a marker or that he is actually at Lynnhurst. However, I do find that Rosa Bell Offutt b. March 12, 1877 d. September 16, 1960 is here. She is with P. H. Newport, Ella Chambers Newport, and Helen Sharp Chambers in section Memorial 1.
If you would like to call Lynnhurst and see if Mr. Offutt is actually in Lynnhurst I will gladly check the area that they give you. The number for Lynnhurst is 865-689-8888.

Susannah Goldsberry
Hello, if I don't have Susannah linked correctly, please let me know. I'm sorry I have no idea who placed the GAR marker. It was there when I took the photo. Yes, the Goldsberry-Offutt Family Plot marker is the same. Back to back. Hope I've answered all your questions.

RE: Syble Offutt, Daughter of Archie Veres Offutt Correction
Re: Lewoise/Louise

The death certificate clearly lists "Lewoise." However I realize that names were often oral with the family having very little education in spelling.

I would actually recommend that you use "Louise" and, if you wish, perhaps just note in the bio that the name was spelled "Lewoise" in the death certificate.

Best wishes,

Just transferred her memorial to you - good luck with your research on your family tree and also your assistance with Find A Grave as it helps many who are also seeking links to the past.

Ann Offutt nee Hardy Obit
I found a short obit for Ann Offutt nee Hardy. I posted an image of the newspaper clipping to her memorial # 143514677.

St. Landry Democrat., February 23, 1884, Image 5

Mrs. Ann E. Offutt nee Hardy, widow Nathaniel Offutt, died at her home in Washington, last Wednesday evening, aged 80 years, 5 months and 20 days. She was buried at Grand Coteau.

Mary Ann Mountz
Find A Grave Memorial# 78667379

I found the notice of death you referred to for Mary Mountz.

However, in April 1853 the daughter of John Mountz, also named Mary Ann, died. Since the remains of six individuals were removed to Oak Hill on April 13, 1853 - John, Catharine, Mary, Addison, Lewis and Mary Ann - it appears more likely that Mary Ann is the daughter of John. Her death may have been the reason why the decision was made to move the Mountz remains to Oak Hill from the location at which they were originally interred.

Hi, Dave!

No worries, taken care of. I should have thought to do it.

offutt question
Your question about linkage of Alfred to mother, Nancy was sent as a suggestion by a unknown contributor. As she has a listing for a Alfred it seemed genuine, as dates match. The photo of gravestone seems to infer a child of theirs erected a memorial to them, but no dates?

Correct Name
Hi Dave, please fix the name of Robert Joseph's mother. It should be Jane Pinkney BUCKNER.

Thanks, KayS

I have added obits to a couple of them and listed in the bio what newspaper they were in. Also found marriage announcement with a portrait for Sarah when she married John Gates. They can be copied off the memorials like the other photos. I hope this helps

offutt info
If you go on to ancestry and look for trees with these people just make sure they are ones that have documentation and sources listed. The obits were in the tree I saw the person who owns the tree might be able to tell you what paper they were in.

Re: Annie Crenshaw
You wondered where I got the info that Annie's maiden name was Offutt. I most likely got that info from the cemetery records. I know I used the records for that memorial because I included plot location and burial date. The next time I am at the cemetery I can double check.

RE: Annie Cross Offutt

I have sent a response by email. I have also corrected the name of the mother to what I have in my records to Saphronia and moved the name Sephie as is on the headstone to a nickname. Thanks.

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure I'm following your question. I have reviewed my pending requests for edits and do not see anything about a requested Britton related to Annie Cross Offutt. I know there is a Britton in the Cross line, but I have made no requests there. Maybe I missed something.

Offutts in Rose Hill

I'd be happy to get photos for the Offutts you wanted in Rose Hill Cemetery Cumberland, Md. Please call Rose Hill office at 301-722-5480, (they are very helpful) and forward to me the section # where they are buried. Rose Hill is a huge cemetery and without a section # it is difficult to find individual graves.

Thanks, John Fazenbaker
