RE: Ellison line
Do you know much else about the Pattersons? As I understand it, they were visiting in Chester when Abram died. I understood it to be that they were there visiting a sister Mollie Colwell/Caldwell Johnson. Abram and Margaret had a son named Job Caldwell Patterson, a name that has been repeated numerous times throughout the family. Abram and Margaret are my husband's 4th great grands.

In the same cemetery (Old Purity) are a Job Johnson, several Caldwells, and numerous Kennedys, and possibly others who I believe are connected to the Pattersons or vice versa.

Do you know anything about any of these families buried there?

Also, if it would be easier, you can email me at

Hi Edith, thanks for bringing to my attention the mistake I made on the Weogufka Second Baptist Church Cemetery. I made the correction. You are an angel sent from above and are deeply appreciated!

RE: Parthena Newsome, John Key, and Minnie Brown
I cannot find Minnie Brown in my records, but have transferred the other two to you. Are all these related to Bertha Walker Key? She was my grandfather's cousin. I met Bertha's daughter a few months ago. was so sad when she earned her wings cause I had been searching for her over 2 years and never found her til I saw her obit in the paper.

grave marker photo
I recently posted some grave marker photos on Blankenship memorials. I thought you would be interested. See 6474642, 6474626 & 6489575. These graves are next to each other at Winterboro Baptist Church. Maybe you could get Richard Robinson to setup family links if you know them.

Daniel Blankenship
I made the links you requested and transferred the memorial to you since it appears you are related and I am not. However, I live in the same neighborhood that he did at the time of his death. Years later I moved to the house next door to the home they lived in at the time of his death. Small world.

Ann Parkinson
Jimmie K. Blankenship
From Jerry Van Herrin who took the photo:
She is buried in Pierce Chapel Cemetery. The cemetery is now is Brantley County but until 1920 that area was part of Pierce County. High Bluff Cemetery is just around the corner from Pierce Chapel.

Please add links to her parents (Also buried in Pierce Chapel)

James Allen Dowling 33295715
Vallie Bell Dowling Haywood 33295967

She was divorced from Donald Ishmael Sellers 19037350 and married a Blankenship but I don't have any info on him.

I have inquired of the person who took the tombstone photo. Since he took the photo, I believe he will know which cemetery in which he is buried. I will get back with you with his response.
