Walter Wilber
Hi Nancy,

My Great Grandfather was John Francis Wilber (born in 1838 in Ohio. I've been trying for some time to identify his parents. I found a reference on Ancestry.com for John Francis wilber that indicated his parents were Walter Wilber and Ann Davis--but, did not provide a source for the information. I then discovered your reference to Walter and Ann. Can you tell me where you found the information about Walter? Thanks much,

Bill

Nancy,
Hello again. I was so excited in my first message to you that I forgot the standard find a grave protocol. I also used the uncommon but correct spelling in our family (hamlEN Sorry.

The Memorial # is 33791197 by Terry Hamlin added Feb 13, 2009. I believe you added the picture of Wm. in late 2014. I am extremely thrilled to see it as per my last message. Also I believe I have located Wm's beautiful farm and house in Lopatcong Township. Thanks for your patients. Hoping to hear from you.

Wm Hamlen (in) 1804-1888
Hello Nancy,
I was very excited to see, for the first time, a picture of my G,G,Grandfather William Hamlen. It's so exciting especially because my grandfather Harry Hamlen 1876-1970 described him as having long hair with a bushy white beard. Unbelievable!

Of course I would like to know your connection and if it is possible for me to get a good copy of the picture? I live in Phillipsburg, NJ and will travel within reason. Wife Charlotte and I are on the Historical Committee at "Straw" Church and very familiar with Greenwich Presb. (many Hamlens) Hope to share info.
Hope to hear from you
Dave

Hamlin questions
Nancy-
I am helping a Hamlin descendant join DAR. Is there a headstone for Rosannah? Do you know when she and John were married? Would appreciate any help you can offer. My email is Ouimet.kathy@gmail.com. Thanks! Kathy

Mary
Isaac and Nancy Hamlin
Hi Nancy, thank you so very much for all the information about Isaac and Nancy Hamlin on the Find A Grave site. They are my great-grandparents. I am aware that Isaac (Jr) was killed in a home raising accident, but I have never been able to find out just when. I wonder how you came to the conclusion it was when he was about 17? I have tried to find a record (newspaper etc.) but have been unsuccessful. Since the family chose to pick up and move across the state to Butler Co. PA about 1849 I always thought Isaac Jr's death may have precipitated the move?? (I guess we'll never know) nor will we know why they decided later to move to Ohio. Thanks so much for your help - much appreciated.

Steven & Sandra
Hello Nancy

I deleted the old pic's and posted the new ones on both sites.

If I can do anything else for you, don't hesitate to ask.

Kevin

P.S. Throughout the wait for this addition, every now and then, someone puts fresh flowers in the bronze vase. Someone cares.

Hello Nancy

They finally finished Sandra's Plate. How do you want to do this. I tried to delete the pictures I originally posted, but can't. I also have the plates with both Steven and Sandra together, so if you want it posted , I can do that on Steven's site also. Let me know what you want.

RE: Kesiah Ogle Blann
If only the resources and documentation were trustworthy. There is no single resource, not headstones, not census reports, cemetery records, SSDI or even family recollections that are 100% reliable without corroboration from somewhere else.

In my virtual cemeteries there is one called "Oops" that is full of headstone errors. Just because something is "written in stone" does not make it true and accurate.

I guess this is how we learn, Nancy. I keep going back to my earlier efforts to make corrections. It took me forever to remove all the unnecessary punctuation marks from their names. Ha.

RE: Sandra McAninch
Hello Nancy . Just wanted to check in with you about Sandra. I was at the cemetery today and stopped by her crypt. The death plate was still not attached. I emailed my contact at the cemetery, who told me her plate has been ordered but might take a few weeks to get and attach. I will continue checking whole doing photo requests.

Well you are just a good hoot n hollar west on I-70.
Been through K.C. more than I have been there. Anybody who lives near K.C. knows the difference between K.C., Ka. and K.C. Mo. Got a good story about K.C., Ka. but not for public display. LOL

Thanks for the offer. I am helping a friend and I just stumbled on to this couple. I am not from this area and I really doubt that I will be finding any more memorials for you but all the best in your research and thanks for making original memorials.

RE: McAninch Memorials
Hello Nancy

Just wanted to let you know that I have not forgot about you. I went to Conejo Mountain Cemetery today, in order to see if any updates have been made to Sandra's Plaque. They have still not added the death date to her plaque. I don't know who is in charge of that, a family member, prior arrangements, the cemetery? I will keep checking once a week or so, and notify you of any changes.
