Quantrill's Raid
I was in Lecompton, KS a couple of weeks ago myself on a genealogy trip to take photos of the Constitution Hall. At the Territorial Capital Museum, we were shown James O'Neill's tombstone and I made a memorial for him -- #144900001. I linked into William and Frederick Klaus' memorials. I hope that's okay with you.

Lloyd Williams
Franklin Cemetery
Hi Patty--My name is Lloyd Williams, I was reading your Information on your Gr. Grandfather's memorial in the Franklin Cem. We had to go to Kansas, City last week to pickup our grand daughter for a visit. We stopped at the old Franklin Cem. to try and find a stone for my Gr. uncle Williams. The Cem. is beside a paved 4 lane road [E.Hills Dr.] that goes into an Industrial park. There was no where to park but on this 4 lane road with our flashers on. we walked up a steep bank to get to the Cemetery. The weeds, and grass was about Knee deep all over, so that ended our search for a stone. Just thought you would like to know its still the same as discribed in your Information. Have a great day. Lloyd

William Grauel gravestone photos
I just uploaded photos of the grave of William Grauel from what remains of St John's Catholic cemetery. Perhaps you know this already, but the stone is visible from K-10 Highway east of Lawrence. I discovered this stone and 10-15 others about 3 years ago while doing a topography survey in the area west of East Hills Business Park.

p.s. Don't be surprised if it takes several days to get the memorial transferred. I don't always have time to work on Find A Grave every day.

Please send me a request through the "edit" and "suggest a correction" link on her page. Include your Find A Grave user ID in the e-mail. It takes me much less time to transfer that way, and I get a lot of requests for transfers.

Franklin Cemetery is an empty field now with 2 grave markers in a fence thats all that is left.

some were moved to oak hill cemetery, there is also a catholic cemetery there but nothing remains of it.

it is located east of lawrence on K-10 in the business park.
